JAMES’ POV

It was yet another day at the office, and I stayed hidden in my office. I didn't want the staff looking at me.

It had barely been a month since the patients who took my drugs relapsed. And it was going to be time to pay the staff their salaries. I wasn't sure I would have it anytime soon.

“God,” I moaned, running my hands over my face.

Even the simple thing that I asked Melissa to do, she couldn't get done. And now, I was still in the same position as I had been all this time

JAMES’ POV I parked my car right in the parking lot as I walked into the club. The first thing that greeted me was the bass that I could feel thrumming even underneath my skin. It has been a while since I came here. The last time I did, I ended up with a girl in one of the rooms, and I didn't even have a problem admitting it to Melissa. She didn't like it. It was a shame that she wasn't as understanding as Anna was. Anna understood that if I cheated, it was her fault. It was her fault that she wasn't doing something right. As I looked at the strippers that were twirling on the pole, I realized that it wasn't going to be a bad idea to get some kind of distraction. In fact, it was the best thing to do at this point in time. I was just about to approach one when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I frowned, turning around. It was Jimmy. I honestly wasn't all that glad seeing him. “What are you trying to do?” He asked, and I gave him a fake smile, cocking my head to the side. “Me

Even the simple thing that I asked Melissa to do, she couldn't get done. And now, I was still in the same position as I had been all this time. I didn't want to take a loan. The amount of money that I needed wasn't even something that I was comfortable borrowing. But how else was I going to get it? I spent weeks fooling myself in front of Anna. And that didn't go anywhere. I was patiently waiting for the termination mail from Greenlife Med. It wasn't going to be long until they disassociated themselves from me. It wasn't stated in my contract that they were going to take the fall for anything that I did. It was a shame that I didn

ANNA'S POV My hands were shaking as I riffled through the bag again, searching my documents one by one, document by document. No, no, no. This couldn't be happening. I tried thinking back immediately. Did I drop it on the plane somehow? Did I somehow forget to pack it? I knew that I hadn't forgotten. That was the only reason why I was even protecting the bag like it was my egg in the first place. I was sure that I brought the book with me. I was about to break down and start crying, when I suddenly remembered. I saw Ryan with the bag this morning. Did he somehow take the book from the bag without me knowing? After all, he was awake much earlier than I woke up. I headed downstairs with my hands balled into fists. I wasn't going to take it easy with him if he thought he could just reach into my bag and take anything that he wanted. As soon as I got to the bottom of the stairs, I saw the book in his hand. The way I ran over to him and snatched it with everything in me was out of

ANNA'S POV The sunlight gleaming into the room was more than enough to wake me up. I could barely stop myself from smiling. I had the best time of my life with Ryan. It had been years since I even dared to do anything with any other man. It was almost like I was fully dedicated to James. And now I was glad to know that nothing of that sort was happening. I was literally free. I stretched, reaching out for the other side, feeling for Ryan. He wasn't there, and I frowned. I quickly got out of bed, heading into the bedroom. I brushed my teeth, having a quick bath. I wore a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, tying my hair in a ponytail as I headed downstairs. Just as I headed downstairs, there was something that I saw, that made me stop right there on the steps. It was Ryan, shuffling through my bag. I frowned immediately. It was one of the bags that I had dumped on the table when I first arrived. Just a handbag where I stuffed all the important documents. I frowned, cocking my he

ISABEL'S POV Right from the moment Austin told me where he was working, I knew what he wanted. And now, I was standing in one of my most expensive boots, right in front of the Bonjovi Mansion. There was a smirk plastered on my face. I leaned in, pressing the doorbell, and took a step back as I heard footsteps approaching. “Miss Quinn?” Rick, the old butler who was more than familiar with me, asked. I could barely hold back my smile. “Yes, it's me. You may call me Isabel now.” He was more than shocked. I could tell. Considering the way I stormed out of the house the moment Austin and I broke up, I didn't even think that I was going to return at any point in time. He took my bag from my hands, and I grinned. He didn't forget anything that I had taught him. “Is Austin in?” I asked, and he nodded. By the time I got into the house, Austin was sitting on the couch, sipping on bourbon. The familiar scent hit me, and it suddenly felt like home. But something had changed. I could

MELISSA'S POV “What are you doing here?” My mom asked, and I didn't know what else I expected her to ask me. “I came to see you,” I said in the smallest voice that I could muster. “I was missing you.” I could see her eyes dampen. But as I blinked, it was no longer there. I expected her to lean in for a hug, but she didn't. I could only imagine that I had lost all types of favors from my mom. She simply pushed the door wider, granting me entrance. At least we were starting from somewhere. By the time I walked in, I couldn't help but gasp at the amount of insane changes that had happened. “You've practically renovated the house,” I said in awe, and she cocked an eyebrow. “Maybe if you visited more often, you would know. You didn't even come for your uncle's burial.” “It wasn't that important,” I said, shrugging before I could bite my tongue. That was the wrong thing to say. “It was Uncle Tim. Your favorite. The one that you couldn't go a week without talking to.” I felt
