SORAYA’S POV

It was as though time had frozen still. The girls had completely abandoned their work to stare at me like I was some fool.

They giggled amongst themselves, trying their best to suppress it.

And then, the Alpha spoke.

“The five of you. Out. Now.”

Shock struck their features, but they knew better than to question their Alpha.

They quickly got to their feet and made their way out of the room, making sure to hit me with sarcastic looks of pity on their way out.

Once the door was shut, I turned back to the Alpha—only to find he was no longer on his seat, but right in front of me.

“Ah!” My feet stumbled backward as my heart leapt all the way to my throat.

The speed and stealth of his movements were unreal—I didn’t even see or hear him move at all.

He stood face to face with me. His minty breath, mixed with whiskey and a touch of raspberries, fanned my face as he spoke.

“The next time you disobey me, I won’t ask twice. I’ll bend you over, shove your pretty little ass down on my cock, and fuck the fight right out of you. I paid a fucking fortune for you—more than your bloodline’s ever seen, and more than they ever will. So don’t test me.”

He took another step until he was only a breath away—close enough for the heat of his skin to kiss mine, close enough to smell the dark mix of spice and sin on him.

His gaze was intense, unwavering, the kind that pinned you in place without even trying, as he added—

“I own every part of you.”

A shudder ran up my spine, but I refused to let him see it.

When he didn’t find the reaction he was looking for, he tilted his head slightly, letting out a low, mocking chuckle.

“Hmm. Or maybe you’re just miserable here. Poor thing.” He leaned in, voice dipping to a dark, heated rasp. “I could send you back to your darling husband. I’m sure you’d be thrilled to spend the rest of your pathetic little life bouncing on his cock instead.”

Horror struck me faster than lightning at the mere mention of going back to Ragnar.

The very second I’m in his clutches, I’d be stuck with a madman—a man obsessed with a dead woman. A man who doesn’t deserve to be called the father of my child.

I can’t let my life—or my child’s—go to waste like that.

Khai grinned from ear to ear when he finally saw the emotion he’d been trying to provoke.

Fear.

With that smug grin, he turned his back on me and made his way back to his chair. He raised his hand—a signal for me to come forward—and begrudgingly, I did.

Once I was close enough, he wrapped his fingers around my wrist—possessive, like he owned the bones under my skin—and yanked me down, planting my ass on his thigh like I was nothing more than a plaything to be positioned.

The heat of our skin pressed in, and my cheeks heated at the contact—too much, too bare, too close.

Yet it felt... oddly nice.

Khai watched me in a way that made the hairs on my neck stand. And as if he could see them, he brought his finger up to my neck and gently traced it down my spine.

Goosebumps erupted across my skin as he spoke, his tone far gentler than before.

“How about I make you a deal,” he began, catching my attention.

“I’ll keep you safe from Ragnar’s clutches and give you the life of your dreams. You’ll be my mistress—paraded as my lover. You’ll roam the castle in silk dresses, wear jewelry made of pure gold, and bathe in the most expensive perfumes. You’ll have whatever your heart desires. And in turn, you belong to me in every sense. I fuck you when I want, however I want, and you do not get to say a goddamn thing. How about that?”

What kind of bloody deal is that?

Under normal circumstances, I would never agree to such a thing. What on earth does he mean he’ll fuck me whenever and however he wants? I’m not some fuck toy.

But then again, this is bigger than me.

I can’t afford to go back to Ragnar. That’s not even an option.

A sigh left my lips, and a choice was made.

If Ragnar comes barging in, I’d need more than willpower to fight him. I’d need a man like Khai King on my side.

I’ll agree to Khai’s terms—just long enough to gather gold and escape. But I’ll have to make it convincing. I can’t let him get the slightest idea of what I’m planning.

Otherwise, everything will be ruined. I’ll be trapped here forever.

And my child will endure an even worse fate.

I can’t let that happen. I’ll just have to play the part.

And just like that, a slow grin crawled up my lips as I gently brushed his face with my fingers.

“We have a deal, Alpha Khai.”

I could’ve sworn something flashed in his eyes when I said his name. His gaze darkened—if not with hunger, then something close.

“If that’s so,” he said, “then prove it.”

My brows knitted with confusion—and a bit of fear.

The last time Khai asked me to prove something, he manhandled me in front of my ex-husband and a room full of people.

This time wasn’t far off.

He pulled the sheet from his waist with deliberate ease—like he wanted me to look, to take in every inch of what he was offering.

His cock stood thick and proud, veined and heavy with heat, and for a second, my breath caught.

My heart pounded at the sight of it—but it nearly burst at the Alpha’s next words.

“Get on your knees.”

Goddess, give me strength.

  • Pregnant And Claimed By The Wrong Alpha   CHAPTER 63: MY SORAYA

KHAI’S POV “We’ve had a decline in the food supply over the last two weeks. The farmers are too scared to go out because of the attacks by Ragnar and his men. And with the massive parties that have taken place these past two days, the food left in storage for our people will last roughly three weeks,” my Chief of Agriculture and Food Control said, his voice tense. I sat in the boardroom with the rest of my council members, a fist propping up my chin as I listened to report after report from my commanders. Not a single one was good. I turned to my Chief of Defence and said, “Have more men secure the farmlands to give the farmers confidence. This is not the time for our people to cower in fear of Ragnar.” This was a fucking mess. We were playing right into Ragnar’s game. My own people feared him more than they feared me. What sort of Alpha does that make me? “Your Grace, there’s not a single soldier who hasn’t been deployed. Every man is guarding different regions of the kin

  • Pregnant And Claimed By The Wrong Alpha   CHAPTER 62: JUST. LIKE HER

SORAYA’S POV “How the hell did you end up sick?” “I guess all this partying is not just for me,” Ellie said, blowing into a tissue before dumping it into the trash. She let out a long, exaggerated moan as she lay on her bed. I sat beside her, gazing down at her with worry. The last time I saw her this pale was after the matcha incident. But thankfully, she wasn’t choking or clawing at her own throat. Now, she was just pale, sweaty, and weak. Guilt filled me at the timing of my discovery. After Khai and I’s little story time at the vineyard, he’d been immediately called back to the ballroom by a guard. Apparently, some members were getting into a heated argument. But it turned out to be nothing serious. I retired to my bedroom shortly after tucking Ellie in. As a pregnant lady, I tire out pretty easily. And even after I woke up this morning, the first thing I did was check to make sure the dress wasn’t ruined again. I made sure to keep the necklace somewhere safe befo

  • Pregnant And Claimed By The Wrong Alpha   CHAPTER 61: THROUGH HIS EYES

SORAYA’S POVThe guards parted the grand doors for us, bowing as we passed. We walked into the banquet, hand in hand, all eyes on us. My heart thudded against my ribcage as the entire room grew silent—the eyes of the pack on us.My hands grew sweaty, but even still, Khai did not let go of my hand. I did not know why he chose me to escort him tonight. Usually, he summons me over, throws me across his thigh, and fucks me in front of the crowd. Was this his new tactic?I can’t lie—the last time I had caught everyone’s attention like this was when I was made to wear a thin piece of lingerie to court. But even now, it felt different. This time, I had the Alpha himself at my side, holding my hand. Quite firmly, for that matter.Even with my attire looking like royalty, it was nothing compared to having the Great Rogue King of the East by my side. It was something I had never felt before. Sometimes, I found it hard to believe I was once a Luna. I never truly felt like royalty. Not like t

  • Pregnant And Claimed By The Wrong Alpha   CHAPTER 60: ALL FOR YOU

SORAYA’S POV “Ah! What the fuck, you stupid bitch?!” Nyra screamed, her eyes teary but brimming with rage and pain. The audacity—why was she acting like she didn’t have it coming? “Why the hell would you do that?” “Don’t try to play coy, Nyra. You know what you did. I want an apology—and a replacement—right now,” I snapped, eyes blazing. I was surprised I hadn’t backed down, especially with every member of her little posse forming a ring around me. I’d just punched their ringleader. This didn’t look like it was going to end well for me. Ellie was the only solid friend I had here, and I knew she was more of a lover than a fighter. But still, even with the numbers clearly not in my favor, I didn’t back down. A lump swelled at the side of Nyra’s face as she clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. “Bitch, you better explain properly because I’m not taking a punch to the face lightly,” Nyra seethed, stepping toward me in full intimidation mode. “You ruined the dress I was su

  • Pregnant And Claimed By The Wrong Alpha   CHAPTER 59: FIST TO FACE

SORAYA’S POV“Damn, girl, get up! It is almost time for the banquet!”A groan left my lips as the duvet was snatched away from my body. I groaned — no, wailed — in agony as I searched for the soft covering. How was it already time for the banquet? I had just left her at the vineyard to take a nap!Time always moved so fast when it didn’t need to.“Let me sleep some more,” I mumbled, turning over to my side.“But you’ve been sleeping all day. The banquet is in thirty minutes. There is no time!” Ellie screeched, taking my wrist and forcing me to my feet. She had to be lying. There was no way I’d been sleeping all afternoon. This pregnancy was really taking a toll on me.I rubbed my eyes with the back of my palms as she brought out a dress from a suitcase. It was shielded by a dress cover, but when she unzipped it and pulled the gown free, every atom of sleep vanished from my body that very moment. It was a deep crimson silk gown. The fabric flowed freely, catching the light with even

  • Pregnant And Claimed By The Wrong Alpha   CHAPTER 58: ALPHA’S FAVORITE?

SORAYA’S POV“We should go out for a picnic,” I said to Ellie. She raised a brow at me.“You know we are not that liberal to just move around however we please. The palace courtyard is off-limits to harem women,” Ellie said, and I let out an exasperated sigh.“It would not hurt to try, now, would it? Besides, what is the worst they’re going to do? Yell at us to get back inside?” I asked, and she giggled. She shook her head but quietly packed a little picnic basket for us. I was tired of being trapped indoors for so long, I needed fresh air. I was still thinking about last night, and all these thoughts were suffocating.I needed to be out in nature.I threw in a couple of fruits from the counter into the basket, and once Ellie was done, I helped her with it. Before we could make it out through the kitchen exit, Nyra walked into the room.I hadn’t seen her since she threatened to tell Khai about me and Gael’s apparent affair. But since I returned, she’s the one who seems to have disapp
