SORAYA’S POV

It was as though time had frozen still. The girls had completely abandoned their work to stare at me like I was some fool.

They giggled amongst themselves, trying their best to suppress it.

And then, the Alpha spoke.

“The five of you. Out. Now.”

Shock struck their features, but they knew better than to question their Alpha.

They quickly got to their feet and made their way out of the room, making sure to hit me with sarcastic looks of pity on their way out.

Once the door was shut, I turned back to the Alpha—only to find he was no longer on his seat, but right in front of me.

“Ah!” My feet stumbled backward as my heart leapt all the way to my throat.

The speed and stealth of his movements were unreal—I didn’t even see or hear him move at all.

He stood face to face with me. His minty breath, mixed with whiskey and a touch of raspberries, fanned my face as he spoke.

“The next time you disobey me, I won’t ask twice. I’ll bend you over, shove your pretty little ass down on my cock, and fuck the fight right out of you. I paid a fucking fortune for you—more than your bloodline’s ever seen, and more than they ever will. So don’t test me.”

He took another step until he was only a breath away—close enough for the heat of his skin to kiss mine, close enough to smell the dark mix of spice and sin on him.

His gaze was intense, unwavering, the kind that pinned you in place without even trying, as he added—

“I own every part of you.”

A shudder ran up my spine, but I refused to let him see it.

When he didn’t find the reaction he was looking for, he tilted his head slightly, letting out a low, mocking chuckle.

“Hmm. Or maybe you’re just miserable here. Poor thing.” He leaned in, voice dipping to a dark, heated rasp. “I could send you back to your darling husband. I’m sure you’d be thrilled to spend the rest of your pathetic little life bouncing on his cock instead.”

Horror struck me faster than lightning at the mere mention of going back to Ragnar.

The very second I’m in his clutches, I’d be stuck with a madman—a man obsessed with a dead woman. A man who doesn’t deserve to be called the father of my child.

I can’t let my life—or my child’s—go to waste like that.

Khai grinned from ear to ear when he finally saw the emotion he’d been trying to provoke.

Fear.

With that smug grin, he turned his back on me and made his way back to his chair. He raised his hand—a signal for me to come forward—and begrudgingly, I did.

Once I was close enough, he wrapped his fingers around my wrist—possessive, like he owned the bones under my skin—and yanked me down, planting my ass on his thigh like I was nothing more than a plaything to be positioned.

The heat of our skin pressed in, and my cheeks heated at the contact—too much, too bare, too close.

Yet it felt... oddly nice.

Khai watched me in a way that made the hairs on my neck stand. And as if he could see them, he brought his finger up to my neck and gently traced it down my spine.

Goosebumps erupted across my skin as he spoke, his tone far gentler than before.

“How about I make you a deal,” he began, catching my attention.

“I’ll keep you safe from Ragnar’s clutches and give you the life of your dreams. You’ll be my mistress—paraded as my lover. You’ll roam the castle in silk dresses, wear jewelry made of pure gold, and bathe in the most expensive perfumes. You’ll have whatever your heart desires. And in turn, you belong to me in every sense. I fuck you when I want, however I want, and you do not get to say a goddamn thing. How about that?”

What kind of bloody deal is that?

Under normal circumstances, I would never agree to such a thing. What on earth does he mean he’ll fuck me whenever and however he wants? I’m not some fuck toy.

But then again, this is bigger than me.

I can’t afford to go back to Ragnar. That’s not even an option.

A sigh left my lips, and a choice was made.

If Ragnar comes barging in, I’d need more than willpower to fight him. I’d need a man like Khai King on my side.

I’ll agree to Khai’s terms—just long enough to gather gold and escape. But I’ll have to make it convincing. I can’t let him get the slightest idea of what I’m planning.

Otherwise, everything will be ruined. I’ll be trapped here forever.

And my child will endure an even worse fate.

I can’t let that happen. I’ll just have to play the part.

And just like that, a slow grin crawled up my lips as I gently brushed his face with my fingers.

“We have a deal, Alpha Khai.”

I could’ve sworn something flashed in his eyes when I said his name. His gaze darkened—if not with hunger, then something close.

“If that’s so,” he said, “then prove it.”

My brows knitted with confusion—and a bit of fear.

The last time Khai asked me to prove something, he manhandled me in front of my ex-husband and a room full of people.

This time wasn’t far off.

He pulled the sheet from his waist with deliberate ease—like he wanted me to look, to take in every inch of what he was offering.

His cock stood thick and proud, veined and heavy with heat, and for a second, my breath caught.

My heart pounded at the sight of it—but it nearly burst at the Alpha’s next words.

“Get on your knees.”

Goddess, give me strength.

  • Pregnant And Claimed By The Wrong Alpha   EPILOGUE

For a while I believed after losing my lights the world would be dim. I thought my world would be covered in darkness and i would have no sense of purpose. And it did feel that way for a long time. Two years to be precise. That day, I thought I had lost forever. Nothing else in the world mattered to me in that moment all I wanted to do was bring him back. I was willing to sacrifice anything everything just for him.I've lost my baby.I lost Ragnar.I have lost so much, I could not lose him too.I thought by defeating Sorava I had used the full length of my power. But bringing Kai back from the dead pushed past all of my limits. I tried over and over again until I did. I did not care how much it hurts or how much strength and energy I was losing. I did not care about anything. Nothing in this world would matter to me unless I bring him back. Each bolt of energy, each zapping away mine. I did not care if I was killing myself. It would have been a better fate than to live without him.Ju

  • Pregnant And Claimed By The Wrong Alpha   CHAPTER 129

KHAI’S POVI rushed into the fortress seconds before Ragnar was torn to pieces before my very eyes. His body ripped open like he was some rag doll, chunks of him got tossed across the place. Discarded like trash.“No!” Soraya screamed, dropping to her knees as her chest rose and fell repeatedly. Her body writhed with visible pain before her eyes rolled to the back of her head.Sorava turned to her, grinning like the lunatic she was.Without a second thought, I stood between the two. She beamed.“Khai baby! I am so glad you could join the who,” she exclaimed.“Touch her and I will rip you to shred,” I snarled and Sorava pouted her lips.“Still got the nerve to say that to me even after what you just watched? Well then, let’s see who will rip who to shreds!” She laughed insanely. The second I saw the dark bolts of magic forming in her hands, I took Soraya into my arms. Sadly, I couldn’t get far before an unimaginable struck my back. It felt like my spine snapped and I lost all sensation

SORAYA’S POVThe air smelled of dread and decaying flesh.I stood atop a hill with Ragnar and fifty of his men. Khai and his unit are at their stations, waiting for our signal.I can’t believe the night is already here. The final phase of this war was finally upon us, and only the victor would be alive to see the sunrise. The wind brushed my hair, acting as a light reminder of what it feels to truly be alive. Let’s see how long that lasts. No matter the outcome tonight, all I know is Sorava is going down. With or without me.From where I stood, I got a good look at the layout of her land. Men patrolled the gates of her little fortress and were also stationed all around the fence. From my calculations there were about seventy of them. If we were to go in now, we would already be outnumbered.Let’s just hope our strength and skill makes up for our lack in men.“Nervous?” Ragnar asked, coming to stand at my side.“Exhilarated,” I said, offering a slight grin. “Are we ready?” I asked and

  • Pregnant And Claimed By The Wrong Alpha   CHAPTER 127

SORAYA’S POVThe drums of war were already playing. The past few days has been driven with nothing but the desire to kill the beach who has taken our loved ones. Our allies have rallied up their men in Khai’s courtyard. They have been going through rigorous training for the past few days. Their bodies ached from morning till night, they suffered all because they wanted to increase their endurance and strength. It was a huge sacrifice. At times I would watch from the top of the Balcony ask someone to break down and cry. But the most beautiful part about that moment is when one of their colleagues would come to them and encourage them and remind them of what they have lost and what is at stake.Their perseverance, their drive, and their fire. it was something that couldn't just go out because of mere physical pain. It made me certain of one thing, Sorava must die in this battle.Even I missed these times of war Kai still found time to be sending me gifts. I found it irritating that he w

SORAYA’S POVWhen I heard Khai had gotten rid of the harem, the first person I thought of was Ellie. Occasionally I thought about her. During my time away, I would often wonder what she was doing.I would imagine her cooking with a pout on her lips now that she had no one to try her new recipes with. Sometimes I would like to think her mate was a kind man who adored her cooking. But that did nothing to remove the fact that I still missed her very much.“Is this it?” I asked and Ronan nodded. We stared at the grey colored bungalow surrounded by fences and perfectly trimmed shrubs. From where I stood, my nose picked up on the scent of freshly baked ginger bread.Yeah, this was definitely the place.“Thank you, Ronan. I can take it from here,” I said.“Are you sure you don’t want me to stay behind? These are dangerous times,” he said and my eyelids narrowed to slits.“You question my capabilities as well?” I asked and instantly he raised his hands in surrender. He backed away slowly unti

KHAI’S POV“You are all aware of your mission, correct?”“Yes, alpha.”“Ensure that you keep your distance, I do not want her to know that she is being followed. Only reveal yourselves if she finds herself in danger, is that clear?”“Yes, alpha.”I nodded. A part of me wondered if these seven men would be efficient in carrying out this important task. Which was protecting Soraya. With this new power and attitude of hers, I fear that she might land herself in trouble she might be unable to get out of. I know she thinks she can protect herself now, but it doesn’t hurt to be extra careful.“Dismissed,” I said and they dispersed, disappearing into the shadows to station themselves.A knock came from the door. Once I gave the approval to come in, Ronan walked in. “They are all here, Alpha.”I nodded curtly before rising to my feet. He followed me out of my office as we headed down to the board room. “Has Soraya been informed of their arrival?”He nodded.“Good. She is the one heading the o
