(Arianna's POV)

“Babe, it’s no one. I am fine. I promise you,” Vincent replied, kissing Talia’s cheek, and she narrowed her eyes at me.

“Vince, if you do not tell me who hit you, then I am not leaving here. Whoever touched you deserves to apologize. Tell me so I can deal with them. Mm,” Talia said, touching Vincent’s chin and caressing his cheek. She moved closer to him and placed a warm kiss on his lips.

Vincent smiled and pointed at Mr. Adam. “He hit me. He took that woman’s place.”

That woman? The way Vincent referred to me pierced my heart.

“Mr. Adam, do you want to lose your job? How dare you hit my boyfriend? Apologize to him now!” Talia ordered. She was 22 and showed no respect for Mr. Adam.

“Miss, I was only trying to protect Arianna. I didn’t know he was your boyfriend. I am deeply sorry,” Mr. Adam apologized, bowing his head, and Talia narrowed her eyes at me.

“Let me make this clear to you. The next time you dare to lay your filthy hands on my boyfriend, consider yourself fired!” Talia declared, and Mr. Adam nodded.

“Got it, ma’am,” he replied, as if Talia were his boss.

“Do you hear my daughter? She is the only heiress of the Maddox Corporation. If you go against my daughter, you are also going against her father and me, so I will let this slide,” Rose chimed in, her voice laced with venom.

“I won’t dare to make such a mistake next time, Madam,” Mr. Adam apologized, and I recalled when he worked for my mother. She treated him nicely.

“Good.” Rose smiled as she chewed the bubble gum in her mouth before her gaze turned to me. “So, why are you here?”

Vincent looked at me with a different gaze, before he turned to leave the house with Talia.

“Babe, let’s go,” Vincent said, his tone soft, but Talia refused to leave.

“No, Vince. You go. I will come meet you at the restaurant. I want to know what this beggar came to do in my father’s house,” Talia said, turning to face me.

“Alright. I will leave. Don’t forget the high-end restaurant that we picked,” Vincent reminded her, and Talia smiled at him.

“Of course. I won’t forget. Bye, sweetie,” she waved at him, while Vincent hopped into his black car. He didn’t spare me a single glance.

Once in his car, Vincent shut the door and zoomed off, and I breathed out heavily.

“Arianna, you were banished from this family four years ago. Why did you return?” Rose asked, her expression chilling.

“Ma, I need to see my dad. It’s urgent,” I pleaded, knowing she was now my father’s legal wife.

“Why?” Rose asked, laughing. “Do you think that if you crawl back here, your father will welcome you with open arms? You were banished. That means he doesn’t want to see you.”

“That’s right,” Talia chimed in. “Dad already disowned you. So leave here now.”

“No,” I pleaded as I fell to my knees. “This involves my mother's life. Let me see my dad, please...” I begged, clasping my hands together as I gazed at them. I wouldn’t have knelt down, but my pride did not matter to me.

“Get up and leave here, bìtch!” Talia cursed at me.

“Let her be,” Rose chimed in, her expression thoughtful.

“Do you need money?” Rose asked, and I looked up at her, wondering where she was going with this.

“Yes, ma,” I responded, trembling.

“Then you will have to work for it. I have a job offer for you, and it involves a high paycheck. That is, if you are willing to sell this beautiful body of yours,” Rose said, and I frowned.

“I cannot do that.”

“Then leave. You are not ready to save your mother. Don’t think we owe you anything. We don’t owe you or your wretched mom. Your dad paid her all the salary he owed her. He even sponsored you through nursing school. What more do you both want?”

“I need only 8 million. I can find the remaining balance,” I begged.

“Eight million is a lot of money. But if you are a virgin, I believe Don Milos will accept you and pay,” Rose said, her lips curling in a smile.

“Don Milos?” I asked, my eyes widening in shock. Even Talia looked shocked.

“Mom, do not tell me that you are planning to give Arianna to Don Gabriel Milos to marry her,” Talia murmured, frowning.

“No way. It’s not Don Gabriel Milos. It’s his dad, the old Don Gabriel Milos. He has a kink for virgins, and Aria will be a good catch for him. He will pay 10 million if she is a virgin,” Rose said, smiling, and a wave of relief crashed over Talia’s features.

“That sounds better. So what do you say, sis?” she smirked.

I looked over at the two of them. Should I sell my body to save my mother's life? Would I really get the money as promised?

The thought of sleeping with an old man to get the money made my tummy churn. But then I recalled Vincent’s betrayal. I had already told him that my dad was Felix Maddox, but Vincent had not believed me. Instead, he cheated on me with my stepsister.

Thinking about Rose’s offer and how she said that my dad refused to see me, my brows furrowed.

“Arianna, we do not have all day to stand with you. As you can see, we are heading somewhere. So make your decision,” Rose’s voice cut through my thoughts, and I looked up at her face.

“Ma, are you sure that Don Milos will pay me that amount? I really need the money,” I asked her, and she smiled.

“Of course. Don will pay you. You just have to please him. And do not forget, he likes it rough, and he is also into dark BDSM romance. Can you handle it?” Rose smirked, and I trembled at the thought of getting tied up and used.

Lowering my head, I stood before my stepmother.

“I don’t know, Ma. When can I meet him? I have to think this through,” I asked Rose, and she smiled.

“If you agree, I can arrange for you to meet Don Milos today. You only have to say the word: yes,” Rose said, her tone sharp, and I sighed.

“Alright, Ma. I accept,” I replied, knowing I had no other option.

Mr. Adam gazed at me with pity. He had witnessed how my father had brutally kicked my mother and me out of the house.

My father was already cheating with Rose, and so he already had Talia as his second daughter and a son named Brandy. But Brandy was not around at the moment. He was 20-year-old, so he studied abroad.

“Just a moment,” Rose said, then she pulled out her phone and dialed a contact.

GABRIEL:"Do you remember what you told me and asked me to do?" I asked her, caressing her left cheek—I had missed her so much. She shook her head. "I can't remember. I only recall saving a man and him giving me the watch."I stared at the lady standing beside me, disappointment settling in my chest. She hadn't remembered me or my words.I knew it had been four years, and she might have forgotten. But I hadn't expected her to forget her own words to me.She had told me; "Please don't die on me, sir. Stay with me…"I stared at her face, speechless, before stepping away. "It's alright. What did you come to do at the hospital yesterday? I saw you crying, and you bumped into me."She frowned, as if she had no idea what I was talking about.I asked, "Weren't you the one?"I recalled the lady wore the same white nurse dress with blue print at the top."I am. I was in a hurry to leave for home. My dad called me for an arranged marriage to his rich best friend—old enough to be my father. I do

ARIANNA:"Is everything alright, miss?" the driver asked, noticing my heavy breathing, as if I had just escaped a death trap."Yeah. I'm fine. Hurry up—I don't want to miss the person I'm going to find.""Oh. Sorry, miss. But the traffic this morning is too bad," he pointed at the blocked road, and I groaned."When will this traffic clear up?" I murmured, displeased by the sight before me. The road was clogged with cars honking at those in front to move.East Polls Capital had always been a busy place.Sighing, I reclined into the black seat, knowing I couldn't trek to my father's house—it was too far from Milos Hospital. So I waited for the road to clear.I pulled out my phone and texted Edith.Me: Edith, have you seen Don Gabriel yet?I waited for her response, my heart still pounding as I recalled how Don Gabriel had stared at me from his car. He perched at the rear, and a driver glide in.Why did he have the same eyes as the man who was with me last night? "No. It can't be him," I

ARIANNA:Vincent wore a white top that hugged his muscular chest, paired with brown trousers and polished black shoes. I couldn't believe this was the same man who had asked me to be his girlfriend three years ago.My eyes narrowed at the sight of him, and my bottled-up anger surged."Vincent, what are you doing here?" I asked, my voice icy and loud enough to draw attention."Arianna, I'm sorry about what happened yesterday," Vincent apologized, striding toward me."What do you mean? You made it clear we're over. What more do you want?" I demanded, my tone frigid."Arianna, I'm sorry. I know you have every right to be furious. But you're a Maddox. How did I not notice you share a slight resemblance to your father?" Vincent pointed out, and my brows furrowed at his words."Just get out!" I pointed at the gate. "Leave now, as you can see I'm leaving too. We're over. I don't know you, and you don't know me. Don't stop me on the way again, Vincent." I threw his own words back at him—the s

ARIANNA:"Edith, give me back my watch!" I called out and reached to snatch the golden piece from her hand. But she had already strapped it on before I could collect it.My eyes widened at the golden watch circling Edith's wrist. Even after four years, it still gleamed like it had just been purchased."Oh my goodness, Arianna! This is real gold. How much did you get it for? I love it!" Edith asked, blushing as she admired the watch."Edith, take it off. It's not mine," I told her, and her eyes narrowed at me."You're lying to me, Arianna. Please, let me have it," she begged. My jaw dropped as I stared at her in disbelief."Edith, this watch isn't mine. A man gave it to me," I told her, and her jaw dropped at the mention of a man."A man? Arianna, I thought you said you were a virgin? Wait—did you cheat on Vincent?" She asked, her eyes wide with shock."No! I didn't cheat on him!" I stomped my foot on the ground. "The truth is, a man gave me this wristwatch after I helped save him on t

ARIANNA:Some neighbors passed by my apartment door, and I quickly pulled Edith inside. After all, most of those women who lived in the building didn't like my mother. Before my mother's health deteriorated, they had mocked her for her inability to keep her home.Tears pricked at my eyes at the recollection, but I tried to act brave. Now was not the time to lament."Arianna, what the hell happened to you? Did you get into a fight with someone at Milos Hospital yesterday? You told me everything was fine," Edith asked, settling onto the single brown couch in the room. The apartment was a self-contained room and parlor—one bedroom, a bathroom, a parlor, a kitchen, and a small passage connecting the room to the kitchen."Arianna!" Edith called my name, and I sighed."Why would I get into a fight?" I moved to sit next to her on the brown couch, but she shook her head."You're not telling me the truth. Wait a minute—did someone strangle your neck? What are these handprints?" She leaned clos

ARIANNA:Most of the neighbors were already asleep, since up to eight of them lived in the one-story building. Four tenants occupied the top floor, while my mother and I shared an apartment on the lower floor.I rushed to our door, pulled my spare key from my white nurse uniform pocket, unlocked it, and slipped inside.Once in the room, I exhaled heavily, my body still trembling, and I locked the door behind me. The messy space came into view—the worn-out bedsheet covering the bed. Though the place was small, everything had been neatly arranged, just as I'd left it that morning before heading to work.Drawing a deep breath, my tired legs carried me to the bed. The next moment, I collapsed onto it, crying and shaking.I had vowed to save my virginity for my husband. Now I'd lost it to an older man—old enough to be my father's age-mate.Tears streamed down my cheeks and soaked the bedsheet. I knew I had to go to work tomorrow, even though it was my off day. I needed to make up for my ab

(Arianna's POV) Upon arriving at the magnificent black gate where my father lived, I banged on it, waiting anxiously. A few minutes later, a tall, muscular man stepped out, his gaze sharp as he stared at me. “Arianna, what do you want here?” he asked, and I recognized him as Mr. Kingsley Adam. “
