LOGINZaden's PovâŚ
Tonight was my parents' death anniversary. I lost my parents when I was five years old in a car accident. My mum died during the accident while both my Dad and I survived.
But when the news of my mum's death reached my Dad, the doctor said his heart gave up, and he passed away that same day.
I had been in a coma for about 5 months after the accident. So I really didn't have much of a memory about the accident. Just what my grandparents had told me. My grandparents raised me as their child, and I was the only heir to the Blackwell empire.
When I got the invite to Mr Grayson's 50th birthday celebration, I was skeptical about attending, as Mr Grayson and I were not really friends; we were more like business rivals since I had tried purchasing his company a few years back when it was on the verge of bankruptcy.
I made up my mind to attend eventually because I wasn't ready to be left alone with my thoughts, as this day was usually a torment for me. I usually spend this day with my grandparents at their mansion, but I had been avoiding them for months due to their constant nagging about an heir, which I was already bored with.
The event had just started, and I decided to retreat to an empty room to gather my thoughts. I had lit one of my cigarettes when the door opened and two people who seemed to be having a heated conversation walked in.
They were so engrossed in their conversation that they hadn't noticed my presence. Neither did I want to give myself away as I wasnât in the mood for any form of interaction.
It wasnât until the other guy, who, after overhearing their conversation, was the boyfriend, tried to force himself on her. I could be many things, but I could never stand women's abuse. Thatâs when I decided to step in.
I dragged him from behind and threw him to the floor. Thatâs when my eyes met hers. She had gray eyes, which were full of surprise. I knew I had seen those eyes somewhere. We were still in a stare-down as I tried to recall where I had seen them, before it finally clickedâ it was Miss Grayson.
I remember those eyes because of how they stared daggers at me during the negotiation meeting held some few years back when their company was on the verge of bankruptcy.
We were still holding each otherâs gazes when the bastard tried to lurch a punch at me.
Thanks to my fast reflexes, he missed and ended up punching the wall. He cursed out loud as he looked at me in fury.
This wasnât how I planned on spending the night exchanging punches. But it was a good way for me to let out some steam. I had landed a few punches to his torso before I let him fall to the ground.
âYou b*tch! So it seems I wasnât the only one humping another person, huh? Yet you dare judge me acting all self-righteous. Well, good thing I also got to see your side piece tooâ. He spat out at Miss Grayson, who just stared at him in disbelief at the words coming out of his mouth.
I had put a call to my assistant, Alex, to come see him before he caused any more trouble or a scene.
âI don't need anyone to see me outside as I am already on my way out. Have fun with your side pieceâ. He blurted out as he side-stepped my assistant.
All the while, Miss Grayson didnât reply to the bastard; she just held his gaze in disbelief.
I couldnât help but wonder how someone like Miss Grayson would end up dating such a weak piece of sh*t.
I didnât know much about her, but from the little I knew from my research on Grayson Enterprise, she was a strong young lady who was actually the brains behind Grayson Enterprise.
After he left, Miss Grayson and I were enveloped in an uncomfortable silence.
Until a sob broke out.
I was shocked watching her break down. She subconsciously leaned into me as she cried with her shoulders shaking. I guess this day wasnât only bad for me.
She had stopped crying yet was still in my embrace as I gently stroked her back. I didnât even know why, but I wanted to just care for her until she was okay. I guess the day had also gotten to me because even my own actions shocked me.
Soon she regained composure without a trace of the woman who had just been crying a few minutes ago.
âWell, thank you for taking care of Felix, but make no mistake, I haven't forgotten who you are, Mr Blackwell !!â. She said and looked at me with the same eyes she had at that meeting.
I was a bit shocked at how quickly she regained composure. Just as I was about to speak, her phone rang and she left, taking the call.
Alex had been waiting by the door for me. Once Miss Grayson left, he went in. I knew he must have heard her sobs.
âSave what you are about to say. I am not in the mood to hear it.â
While Alex waved his hands in the air, feigning surrender, with a smirk on his lips.
Then, with a serious expression, he said:
âYou might want to see this. "There have been some recent discoveries about your parents' accidentâ.
He handed some papers to me, which confirmed my earlier suspicions.
I suddenly needed a drink. I decided to retreat to my hotel room for the night. Then I helped myself with a few drinks. That was when I heard the door open.
I was already feeling lightheaded and dizzy, but I could perceive her sweet smell of vanilla and her eyes, which looked familiar. But I couldn't really place it.
Milaâs POVâŚWhen I woke up I was no longer in the car but placed comfortably in bed.The last thing I remembered was sitting in the car.I scrunched my eyes with my hand to be sure I was up completely.I noticed how easily I fell asleep. It was almost as if every month had its own unique trait that came with it.I heard water running so I knew Zaden was in the bathroom. I sat up on the bed, searching for my phone to check the time. That was when I noticed the bathroom door was slightly ajar.A habit of Zaden, he doesnât close doors. It was a bit laughable to think someone like him didnât like closed doors.I shouldnât look, I should turn the other way.But with a figure like Zadenâs, it was a hard bit of temptation. He was backing me with his hand on the wall, his muscles flexed beneath the cold shower.I didnât see any steamroll off.The weather wasn't favorable and he still chose to bathe with cold water. My eyes trailed from his back to his ass. This man looked just like a Greek
Zaden's povâŚThe way the pace of her breathing increased with each item the attendant showed us indicated that something was wrong.âI need some air.âBefore I could word a reply, she had already made her way to the exit.I allowed her to leave, but my sixth sense couldn't stop me for more than a minute before I sought after her.âAre you okay?â I placed my hand on the small of her back, stirring her in my direction.I didn't notice there was someone beside her as my attention was completely on her.The person cleared her throat alerting me to her presence, âMr Blackwell,â She stared at me with wide eyes.Mila stepped away from where my hand rested. My hand instantly turned cold as I squeezed it tightly beside me.I recognized the person beside her. She works at ZDN Corp. She must have been at today's meeting as well, but I didnât know her. âMr Blackwell⌠what a coincidence running into you here.â âI didnât know you were close with Mila.â My gaze shifted from her to Mila; she gave
Mila's POVâŚThe weight of our discussion still hovered over me as I went through the files.Zaden's office was not exposed like mine so I couldn't see him working.I spent the remaining hours buried deep in the Russel group case, as I studied their company over the past few years. My mind drifted back to Zaden's last statement.A soft knock jolted me back to the present. âWe have a meeting now, are you ready?âI blinked, âUmm⌠Yes, I am.â I picked up my note from the desk following behind him. Throughout the meeting, I couldnât focus on the topic as I stared at Zaden speak. He didnât spare me a glance, he was in his element. So focused, organized, and from the way he spoke, he commanded so much authority that everyone listened. His aura was palpable throughout the room. âMiss Grayson would take over now, she has a plan for the Russel group acquisition.â I was still so lost in thought, I hadnât realized everyone in the room had turned their attention to me waiting for me to speak.
Mila's POVâŚBarely a minute before his phone beeped, jolting us back to reality.âSorry⌠Sorry.â He stumbled backwards, washing his hands over his face.I cleared my throat, âUhmâŚIt'sâŚokay.âHe waved his phone in the air, âYour clothes are here.ââRight.âAnother awkward silence.âI would go get them.ââOkay,â I answered quickly, biting my lips where his taste still lingered. He left the room as quickly as well.âFuck.â I muttered beneath my breath, running my hands through my hair.He was back in a few minutes with a bunch of bags and boxes.âDid you buy an entire mall?ââI can't buy what I already own, can I?ââNot surprised.ââYou can check them out, see if they fit.â"When I said I needed clothes, I meant regular work clothes.ââThey are regular.ââNo, these are designers.ââWhat's the difference?ââI don't want to walk into your company looking like I screwed my boss for some designers and got knocked up.ââYou did screw your boss, and got knocked up.ââHaha. Not funny and you we
Zaden's povâŚâI won't let anyone hurt you,â I moved closer, closing the gap between us.âI won't get hurtâŚâ â...Is that why you have been distant these past weeks?â She moved backwards, recreating the gap between us.âI didn't want to get you involved. These people are dangerous.â I didn't move again; I just stood, allowing my eyes to study her as I clenched my fist to stop myself from reaching out to her.âNo, you should have told me, you don't get to choose what I can and cannot handle, I am not some fragile doll you keep in a chest, Zaden.â The tone of her voice increased slightly. âDon't go back to the restaurant at least until I have handled this situation.â I pleaded Mila was stubborn, but her safety mattered more. "I would go, what happened to âtightening securityâ?â"It would take at least a month to put maximum security protocols around the restaurant. If we start immediately, it would tip them off that we are scared.ââAnd not showing up, won't?âI sighed, âMila please.â
Mila's pov...My eyes stayed on the words, my body refused to move.My palms dampened as my fingers curled slightly.âYou don't plan on spending the rest of the night here, do you?â Emily called out impatiently as she walked in.I wiped the writing away quickly, my sleeves smearing the letters until they disappeared, before she could come closer."You good?â She asked, her eyes searching mine."Of courseâŚlet's go. I am starving.â I wrapped my hand in hers. I wasn't sure I could've moved on my own; my legs felt hollow beneath me.I smiled widely, though it didn't quite reach my eyes.Cutlery scraped against plates, the kitchen door swinging open and closed as orders rolled in and out.Voices rose and fell around me, but none of them reached me.I was physically present, but my mind was still back at my restaurant; Standing, staring at the words like they might reappear if I blinked. The warning was clear and direct. The message was for me.âMila, Mila, Mila!â At the last call, I repli
Mila's POVâŚWalking into the dimly lit rooftop, my chest tightened, feeling anxious about what Zaden wanted to show me that he couldn't wait for the next day.My eyes fell on the decorated table in the middle, with the moonlight casting a soft glow over the table. I looked over at Zaden, whose fac
Milaâs POVâŚAt first, the sound of his voice on the phone woke me up, but even when his call ended I couldnât go back to sleep. Rather, I stared at him from the bed, admiring his physique. For a moment, my mind wasn't fixated on the dull ache in my chest or the pain in my eye from constant crying;
Milaâs POV⌠Zaden turned me towards him, blocking me from the person's view. The person must have only seen my hair, with how fast he turned me. We were still in each other's arms. Anyone who would see us would know we were just doing something intimate. âCanât you see this is the VIP elevator?â
Zadenâs POV...Milaâs presence at home was intoxicating and now I get to see her at work too. A sigh escaped my lips as I got ready for work. It was at least better than her being involved with that guy Richard. I was glad my nerves were at an end and I decided to look into him, elseâŚI shivered a
