LOGINZaden's PovâŚ
Tonight was my parents' death anniversary. I lost my parents when I was five years old in a car accident. My mum died during the accident while both my Dad and I survived.
But when the news of my mum's death reached my Dad, the doctor said his heart gave up, and he passed away that same day.
I had been in a coma for about 5 months after the accident. So I really didn't have much of a memory about the accident. Just what my grandparents had told me. My grandparents raised me as their child, and I was the only heir to the Blackwell empire.
When I got the invite to Mr Grayson's 50th birthday celebration, I was skeptical about attending, as Mr Grayson and I were not really friends; we were more like business rivals since I had tried purchasing his company a few years back when it was on the verge of bankruptcy.
I made up my mind to attend eventually because I wasn't ready to be left alone with my thoughts, as this day was usually a torment for me. I usually spend this day with my grandparents at their mansion, but I had been avoiding them for months due to their constant nagging about an heir, which I was already bored with.
The event had just started, and I decided to retreat to an empty room to gather my thoughts. I had lit one of my cigarettes when the door opened and two people who seemed to be having a heated conversation walked in.
They were so engrossed in their conversation that they hadn't noticed my presence. Neither did I want to give myself away as I wasnât in the mood for any form of interaction.
It wasnât until the other guy, who, after overhearing their conversation, was the boyfriend, tried to force himself on her. I could be many things, but I could never stand women's abuse. Thatâs when I decided to step in.
I dragged him from behind and threw him to the floor. Thatâs when my eyes met hers. She had gray eyes, which were full of surprise. I knew I had seen those eyes somewhere. We were still in a stare-down as I tried to recall where I had seen them, before it finally clickedâ it was Miss Grayson.
I remember those eyes because of how they stared daggers at me during the negotiation meeting held some few years back when their company was on the verge of bankruptcy.
We were still holding each otherâs gazes when the bastard tried to lurch a punch at me.
Thanks to my fast reflexes, he missed and ended up punching the wall. He cursed out loud as he looked at me in fury.
This wasnât how I planned on spending the night exchanging punches. But it was a good way for me to let out some steam. I had landed a few punches to his torso before I let him fall to the ground.
âYou b*tch! So it seems I wasnât the only one humping another person, huh? Yet you dare judge me acting all self-righteous. Well, good thing I also got to see your side piece tooâ. He spat out at Miss Grayson, who just stared at him in disbelief at the words coming out of his mouth.
I had put a call to my assistant, Alex, to come see him before he caused any more trouble or a scene.
âI don't need anyone to see me outside as I am already on my way out. Have fun with your side pieceâ. He blurted out as he side-stepped my assistant.
All the while, Miss Grayson didnât reply to the bastard; she just held his gaze in disbelief.
I couldnât help but wonder how someone like Miss Grayson would end up dating such a weak piece of sh*t.
I didnât know much about her, but from the little I knew from my research on Grayson Enterprise, she was a strong young lady who was actually the brains behind Grayson Enterprise.
After he left, Miss Grayson and I were enveloped in an uncomfortable silence.
Until a sob broke out.
I was shocked watching her break down. She subconsciously leaned into me as she cried with her shoulders shaking. I guess this day wasnât only bad for me.
She had stopped crying yet was still in my embrace as I gently stroked her back. I didnât even know why, but I wanted to just care for her until she was okay. I guess the day had also gotten to me because even my own actions shocked me.
Soon she regained composure without a trace of the woman who had just been crying a few minutes ago.
âWell, thank you for taking care of Felix, but make no mistake, I haven't forgotten who you are, Mr Blackwell !!â. She said and looked at me with the same eyes she had at that meeting.
I was a bit shocked at how quickly she regained composure. Just as I was about to speak, her phone rang and she left, taking the call.
Alex had been waiting by the door for me. Once Miss Grayson left, he went in. I knew he must have heard her sobs.
âSave what you are about to say. I am not in the mood to hear it.â
While Alex waved his hands in the air, feigning surrender, with a smirk on his lips.
Then, with a serious expression, he said:
âYou might want to see this. "There have been some recent discoveries about your parents' accidentâ.
He handed some papers to me, which confirmed my earlier suspicions.
I suddenly needed a drink. I decided to retreat to my hotel room for the night. Then I helped myself with a few drinks. That was when I heard the door open.
I was already feeling lightheaded and dizzy, but I could perceive her sweet smell of vanilla and her eyes, which looked familiar. But I couldn't really place it.
Mila's PovâŚAs my eyelids drifted open slowly, pain coursed through my body as I tried moving.I was in bed naked with Felix beside me, and Eliza was with a camera. I jumped out of bed, covering myself with the comforter.âRelax Mila, nothing has happened,â Felix spoke with a mocking tone.âYet,â Eliza added with a laugh, still holding her camera looking for a position to set it up.My head was dizzy, making me stagger a bit, "Plea⌠please⌠don't.â I was trying to make out my words, but they kept coming out mumbled. Everything in the room looked double.Eliza leaned towards me to stroke my cheeks. âIn a couple of minutes, you will be begging Felix to relieve you of the torture your body will give you, so there's no need to fight it.â âDon't⌠touch me!â I managed to speak, creating distance between us.The whole room felt hot, so I dropped the comforter I wrapped myself in to relieve myself of some heat.âWell, that was fast. I guess I would give you guys some privacy, make sure you
Mila's PovâŚâCome get me, I am in trouble,â I stared at Eliza's text with wide eyes as Zaden drove to the hotel. I tapped my feet nervously against the car floor, "Could you drive a bit faster?ââI am already above the speed limit and you still want me to drive faster.ââYes.ââWell, I can't do that.â"Why are you always super careful when driving, I don't get it.â Zaden didn't reply; he just stared ahead, focused on the road.I sighed, looking out of the window, and I whispered beneath my breath,â Hold on, Eliza, I am coming.âWhile growing up, I was the one always looking out for Eliza; she always got into trouble when we were younger, and I was always there to save her. There is no mile I am not willing to go for her.âWait here,â I said before unlocking the passenger to get out.Zaden held my hand just as I was about to exit the car, âDon't you think it's odd that your sister is reaching out all of a sudden, and it's when she's in trouble?â"Zaden please not now, Eliza won't ask
Zaden's PovâŚPictures of our engagement party flooded the internet. With different headlines and speculations. There were so many already published online in such a short time, which made me wonder who leaked the news, my wild guess was on Candace. She wasn't even supposed to be at the engagement party in the first place. I was going to deal with that later on. Mila's phone was buzzing too. I watched the pace of the rise and fall of her chest increase as she scrolled through her phone with wide eyes.I quickly shot Alex a text; handle it!My concern wasn't about public opinion but rather for the lady beside me. âWhat am I going to do Zaden?â She asked with a low tone that could pass as a whisper. Tears had already pooled in her eyes threatening to drop.âIf my father finds out about this, he is going to be very mad; he may kick me out of the company completely. I can't afford for this to get to him.â Her voice was shaky.âWhat if he has already seen this?âShe gasped, âOh my goodn
Mila's pov..I never questioned Zaden about Candace because, after all, our relationship wasn't real. But with the way she kept meddling in his personal life, it was obvious they had some history together and it was really starting to piss me off with her overstepping. The thought of Zaden's history with Candace or God knows which other person made my stomach churn. I didnât understand why I was angry, knowing Zaden had been with other people.Get a grip, Mila. Your relationship isnât real. I had to remind myself as I got dressed.I didnât wait for Zaden to finish getting ready, I left him in the room to join them for breakfast. I didnât want to be around him. Mrs Blackwell was already seated at the table with a cup of coffee in her hand. âGood to see Zaden finally let you out of bed. I was starting to think you both were gonna spend all day locked up in the room.â I chuckled lightly with my cheeks blushing lightly pink, I was trying my best to avoid small talk; I wasnât in the moo
Zaden's povâŚâWe can't do this.â Mila broke our kiss, stepping away from me. âWhat?â I asked my breathing still ragged from our kiss. âYou are using this to escape reality. I refuse to be used as a way of mental escape.ââMental escape?âYes, you are probably doing this because your grandmother is in the room across from us, to make our relationship believable.â âI am merely following the doctor's orders. I am not using sex as a mental escape. What will I be escaping from?â That was a lie, my emotions got the better of me, making me lose my sense of reasoning. But I wasn't kissing her because I liked her. It was just a mere sexual desire heightened by my emotions.âDoctorâs orders? âWow, good to know that you at least have the decency not to toy with another person's emotions.â Her sarcastic tone rolled off easily, and I could see the hurt in her eyes. Her words made a jab at my chest causing a dull ache, but the truth wasn't better either way.I played it off with a smirk, wiping
Mila's POVâŚWalking into the dimly lit rooftop, my chest tightened, feeling anxious about what Zaden wanted to show me that he couldn't wait for the next day.My eyes fell on the decorated table in the middle, with the moonlight casting a soft glow over the table. I looked over at Zaden, whose face didn't give away any emotion, he just stared at me with his usual blank expression.I was confused as to why he planned this. Just as I was trying to wrap my head around it all. I spotted Antonio behind Zaden. What was he doing here? Isn't he supposed to be in Italy?âAntonio, what are you doing here?â I asked with a smile plastered across my face. Before he could reply Zaden spoke, âI invited him.â I looked from Zaden to Antonio confused as to what was happening. âI know how much you love Italian dishes so I invited him over to prepare some for you.âI tried speaking, but no words came out; my words were caught in my throat. I just stared blankly at Zaden.âHe didn't exactly invite me ov
