Zaden's Pov
âAn abortion, really!â
âHow can you make such a decision within minutes? â
âYou just heard the news fresh out of a coma, and the first option that crossed your mind is an abortion?
ââTsk, tsk, tsk⌠Miss Grayson. I didn't peg you as the kind of lady, I thought with the news you would be running into the hands of your loving boyfriendâ. A smirk played on my lips as I recalled my encounter with the piece of sh*t.
âExcept, except!â. I moved closer to her, my fingers trailing her bed rail.
"Is the baby mine?â I asked, arching my eyebrows as realization dawned on me.
âThe doctor said three weeks right, that's about the same time we f***edâ".
I did not quite remember using protection during our one-night stand. It was probably because I was also drunk that night, not like I planned on having sex that day of all days. Otherwise, I never have sex without a condom. I had gotten myself checked out, after. But I didn't conceive the possibility of Miss Grayson being pregnant after that night until now. She was also so quick to run off.
Her breath hitched and for the first time today, she avoided my gaze.
âThere will be no abortion until the baby's paternity is confirmedâ, I said, staring daggers at her.
âBesides, you can't have an abortion fresh out of a comaâ. I continued with a frown forming between my brows.
âYour body is still recovering from the accidentâ.
â I don't understand how you would be so careless when switching lanes not to look properly. You should be grateful the other driver came out with a scratchâ". A frown formed on her face as I scolded her. She kept her lips pouted.
"Bold of you to think that you are the father of the baby, after just one night Mr Blackwellâ. She said with a mocking smile lifting her eyes to meet mine.
âYou always struck as arrogant, but this tops it all, even for you".
âWhy are you here first, Mr Blackwell?â. She said making air quotes as she rolled her eyes.
" How did you know I was involved in an accident?â she asked with raised eyebrows, still looking at me dead in the eye.
âUgh, those eyes!!â. I tried to keep my thoughts in check as it trailed off to our steamy night, when she looked at me with so much pleasure, as her eyes begged for more.
I had been in touch with the hospital every day about Miss Grayson's condition since Alex informed me about the accident. He was the first person to know she was involved in an accident.
Coincidentally, she was admitted to one of the hospitals where I always made monthly donations. So it wasn't hard to pull some strings to be updated daily about her progress. But today was the first time I heard about her pregnancyâŚ. âF***ing patient confidentialityâ.
I didn't know what it was about Mila Grayson that drew me in, maybe the fact that she was the only girl on earth who didn't throw herself at my feet, she always acts repulsed by my presence, good thing I wasn't a fan of her either.
"To answer your question⌠I make donations at the hospital every month, so I was here the day you had the accidentââ.
I technically didn't lie; it was just a half-truth. Besides I couldn't let her know my personal assistant was keeping tabs on her.
"Oh⌠It makes sense that you try to keep a good public appearance, so people do not know the kind of person you really are". She said with a scowl on her face.
I don't make donations for the sake of public opinionâŚ. hell, I couldn't care less what anyone thinks about me. But it was pointless explaining this to Mila, as her opinion about me was already settled.
âWhatever makes you sleep at night, darling". I said with a smirk while lighting a cigarette.
âThis is a hospital! You can't do that here!â she said looking from left to right as though someone could walk in at any moment.
âWell, well, who is the one caring about public opinion now?â âIt's a vip suite no one can come in without permissionâ.
"Not the same contextâ. She said with a pout folding her hands across her chest.
I put out the cigarette shaking my head.
âThe doctor placed you on bed rest for 4 weeks, so you have to remain in the hospital for the entire period, so don't even think of trying anything funnyâ".
âFour weeks? I canât be on bed rest for four weeks! I have some personal business to attend to urgently. Besides, my family will be worried already.
âAbout thatâŚâI paused, studying her facial expression as I braced to tell her the bitter truth.
âYour family was contacted after your accident, but no one showed upâ.
She looked at me with wandering eyes, shaking her head from left to right as though fighting with her thoughts.
âMy phone, my phone. I need my phoneâ".
I opened her bedside drawer, brought it out, and handed it to her.
She grabbed it quickly, scanning through. Her hands became shaky, as the pace of the rise and fall of her chest increased with every scroll. I could see the visible lump forming in her throat as she blinked back the tears at the base of her eyes.
I had told Alex to look into her family when I learnt her family never showed up after the accident, given that it was strange. He was yet to give a report.
Mila Grayson always appeared as the representative for Grayson Enterprise at business forums and meetings, so her family not showing up after an accident was really strange.
"I am feeling quite tired, I would love to restâ". Her tone was lower, and her eyes didn't hold as much fire as they usually did.
"Okay, I will tell the nurses to arrange something for you to eat, you must be hungry too. I will give you some time to rest "".
My phone began buzzing in my pocket. I had not been to the office all day and had pushed off my meetings already, when I heard Mila had woken up. I had to return to the office.
I will call the hospital later to see how she is doing. I don't know what I felt towards Mila, maybe it was curiosity or pity? But I had to look into her, to ensure it's not a scheme or a plot by her Dad. Especially now that she may be carrying my child.
âYes Alexâ
"Sir you have a meeting scheduled for 5pm with the Realcorp team for the negotiationââ
"Okay, I will be in the office in 10 minutes".
âLet the hospital report any new development about Miss Grayson to you, immediately â.
My meeting with the Realcorp team ran pretty late into the night, but I was able to acquire their company, which was on the verge of bankruptcy.
I was still in the office going through some documents from the acquisition with my legal team, when Alexâs call came in.
âThe hospital just calledâŚâŚ Miss Grayson was not found in her roomâ.
âIt seems she has left the hospitalâ.
âMeet me in the driveway in ten minutes!â I ended the call while excusing myself from the meeting.
Mila's POVâŚ.I stared at my phone, without a single message or notification from my sister or father. My letter of suspension was already in my inbox from the human resources department. âHow could this be happening?ââI am supposed to be receiving my letter of appointment as CEO instead of receiving a suspension letterâ.I stood in front of the bathroom mirror, staring at my reflection. I didn't look like I was involved in an accident, aside from losing a bit of weight, I looked the same as the day of the accident. I couldn't believe three freaking weeks had already passed. My hand instinctively went to my belly, and I stroked it. The baby is undoubtedly Zaden's. Felix and I had not been intimate in months as I had been so occupied with the new CEO appointment. I should have taken my morning pills after that night, but everything happened so fast. I still couldn't remember the details of that night, from when I had a few drinks with Eliza; everything else was blank. Now a child i

Mila's povâŚ.I quickly got ready and arrived at the office.âWhere have you been? We have been trying to reach you all nightâ. My Stepsister said upon my arrival. I quickly glanced at the phone, seeing the multiple texts and missed calls. What really happened last night? I thought to myself. I didn't even hear my phone ring all through the night. I thought to myself, allowing my intrusive thoughts to roam free to see if I could remember anything from last night âYet nothing. An emergency board meeting was already in place, which I quickly joined in the board room where it was taking place. Emergency board meetings were usually called for during a crisis. My heart started racing as to what the issue could be as I held my father's furious gaze.Could it be that he found out about my one-night stand with Zaden already? After all, it happened at his birthday party. My heart was racing, I didn't like being in the unknown one bit.My father's secretary passed around some documents. When I
Zaden's POV...Mila had just dashed off to the bathroom, leaving behind the faint scent of her perfume and the echo of everything that had just happened between us. I was still reeling â not just from the hangover pounding behind my eyes, but from the realization of who she really was.The woman Iâd tangled sheets with, the one whose skin Iâd traced with my fingertips just hours ago⌠was Mr. Grayson's daughter. After what Alex had dropped on me last night â news that turned my entire world on its head â Iâd drowned myself in one too many drinks. I remember the haze, the heat, the feel of her lips against mine. But I never expected her. Not Mila.I didn't know she was so drunk last nightâŚ.. but how could I have known when I too was also wasted.I had to step out of the room to meet up with Alex. I wanted him to find out how I ended up in bed with Miss Grayson, for all I know, it could also be a scheme of her father, but a part of me strongly doubted that, reflecting on the passionate n
Milaâs POV...âHi Eliza, have you arrived?â I said as I picked up the phone, leaving Mr Blackwell. Eliza always had a habit of showing up late, so it wasnât unusual when I received her call. I had spent quite some time with Mr Blackwell as the event had already progressed quite far when I caught up with Eliza. She was waiting for me at the bar where I joined her. âHere, have a drink. You seem to have had a long dayâ. She said, looking me in the eye.âThat obvious, huh?â.âWell, there's no bad day, a drink or two won't solveâ. Eliza said with a grin.Eliza and I were just a few years apart. My Dad got married to Eliza's mum after my mum had passed. My mum died during childbirth, and I really didn't know much about Eliza's mum because, shortly after, she also died. My Dad both cared for me and Eliza, but I always looked out for Eliza more as she tended to be both nonchalant and reckless at times. Even though we were stepsisters, I didn't consider her as such.Eliza said she couldn't
Zaden's PovâŚTonight was my parents' death anniversary. I lost my parents when I was five years old in a car accident. My mum died during the accident while both my Dad and I survived. But when the news of my mum's death reached my Dad, the doctor said his heart gave up, and he passed away that same day.I had been in a coma for about 5 months after the accident. So I really didn't have much of a memory about the accident. Just what my grandparents had told me. My grandparents raised me as their child, and I was the only heir to the Blackwell empire. When I got the invite to Mr Grayson's 50th birthday celebration, I was skeptical about attending, as Mr Grayson and I were not really friends; we were more like business rivals since I had tried purchasing his company a few years back when it was on the verge of bankruptcy.I made up my mind to attend eventually because I wasn't ready to be left alone with my thoughts, as this day was usually a torment for me. I usually spend this day wi
