At the first light of dawn, Adriana was already up, doing her early morning essentials. With her mini luggage packed, she zipped the last compartment up.

As she lifted her small suitcase behind her on the stairs, her footsteps echoed softly against the tiles. When she finally stepped downstairs, she could perceive the faint aroma of toast and freshly brewed coffee filling the air.

As she appeared in the dining room, Hardin and Tessa’s faces fell the moment their eyes caught sight of her luggage. “Good morning, morning,” they both chorused uncertainly, as their eyes darted between their mother and her suitcase.

Adriana forced a warm smile at them. “Morning, my beautiful darlings,” she whispered, walking over to them, and then crouched to press a kiss to each of their soft cheeks.

As soon as she drew back, they both looked up at her with wide, questioning eyes that made her chest tighten. “Come on, Mommy’s just going for a little while, okay? I’ll be back by tomorrow,” she said softly,

With the kiss becoming roughly intense, Antonio's arms wrapped around her waist, lifting her effortlessly from the dining room chair where their dinner had long been forgotten. Then, his strong hands gripped her thighs, carrying her through the hallway, with her legs instinctively locked around his hips. Adriana could feel the heat radiating from the firm press of his chest against her breasts through the thin fabric of her gown as his breath came in hot bursts against her neck. She buried her face there, inhaling the musky scent of his skin mixed with the faint spice of his cologne. Her bedroom door shutting behind them, Antonio didn't head for her bed this time. Instead, he strode straight to the en-suite bathroom, his steps purposeful and unyielding as she remained in her arms with their lips still locked. When they reached the cool tile floor, he broke the kiss, lowering her slowly on her bare feet. As they both stood there, with thumping hearts, Antonio’s eyes darkened, burning

Antonio's smile spread across his face, slow and genuine, crinkling the corners of his eyes as he looked down at Hardin and Tessa. "I guess I'm staying, then," he said in a low, warm voice.Hardin and Tessa bounced in their seated posture instantly, their small faces lighting up at the revelation. As their excitement bubbled over, filling the space, Adriana watched from the archway, a soft laugh escaping her lips despite herself. Their joy was contagious; it tugged at something deeper in her chest. Then, he walked over to them. "Okay, that's enough," she suddenly said as she stopped in front of them, her tone firm but still laced with affection. The room quieted in an instant, and Hardin and Tessa's eyes snapped to her, wide and attentive, like little soldiers awaiting orders."Time for your evening bath before dinner," Adriana added, bending down to scoop up their scattered backpacks from the floor."Okay, Mommy," the kids both chorused together, their voices overlapping in perfect

She didn’t have a choice but to send her bodyguards to escort Antonio in, despite knowing it would only make Eros' claims soon start to sound more believable than ever. With her already settled in her CEO seat, her office door eventually burst open.Antonio stepped in, dressed in a charcoal-gray suit that fit him a little too perfectly for a casual visit. As he approached her, looking less arrogant and less restrained, Adriana refused to look at him, her eyes staying glued to the computer screen as she pretended not to notice the scent of his cologne.Antonio was unbothered; he kept his aura as he took a seat across from her, his gaze flicking briefly around her office before settling on her. “Good morning. Thanks for lending me your guards. I wasn't expecting such at the entrance,” he said in a quiet and steady voice.Adriana’s fingers froze for a second over her keyboard, but she neither responded nor looked at him. Instead, her hand dipped inside her bag, reaching for her bag on th

As the next morning dawned calm, Adriana stirred early on her bed, her mind already running ahead of her body. Despite Antonio not being around, her mind wandered to the warm shower she shared with him, the same thought she had before finally sleeping off last night. He had dinner with her and their kids yesterday evening, and when he’d finally left them, the house didn't seem to bubble like it was before he left. She might not have said it aloud, but deep inside her heart, she knew she had forgiven him. But still, forgiveness didn’t mean surrender. She was intending to set some boundaries despite what they had.Having dressed for work, she stepped out of her room into the hallway, her heels taking her to the living room. Just when she reached the dining room, Hardin and Tessa emerged in their school uniforms, with two staff members trailing behind, carrying their school bags.“Good morning, Mommy!” They both chorused in unison upon getting to the dining area.Adriana’s lips curved in

Adriana, tangled in his arms, her eyelids grew heavy as she nestled deeper into his embrace in silence, her bare skin warm against his. Letting out a tired sigh, her fingers instinctively traced lazy circles on his chest before sleep finally pulled her under.Antonio, still wide awake, lay with his arm draped possessively around her waist. His gaze fixed on the ceiling, his mind raced with the thoughts of what they just had.An hour slipped by in the hush of her bedroom before Adriana eventually stirred, her body shifting slightly under the covers. She lifted her head, blinking away the remnants of sleep, and there she found Antonio with his eyes closed, as his chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm. His dark lashes fanning out against his cheeks, his lips parted just enough to reveal a hint of vulnerability she rarely saw when he was awake. The sight of watching him look so peaceful and unguarded made her heart swell, and she couldn't control the smile that tugged at the corners of h

The door clicking shut behind them, the sound barely registered over the pounding of their hearts. With sunlight slanting through the half-drawn curtains, Antonio carried her toward the bed, his mouth still crashing down on hers in a rough and devouring kiss.As Adriana tasted the faint salt of his skin, her fingers clutched at his shirt, pulling him closer. But then, Antonio broke away with his arms flexing under her thighs as he dropped her unceremoniously onto the bed.She landed on her butt with a soft bounce, the mattress dipping under her weight. Before she could catch her breath, Antonio was on her again, his lips bruising hers as one of his hands tangled in her hair to tilt her head back, while the other slid up her thigh under the sundress. The kiss was messy and desperate; his stubble scraped her chin, while her teeth also nipped his lower lip until he growled low in his throat into her mouth.Just then, he abruptly pulled back, standing tall at the edge of the bed, with hi
