Chapter Thirty-Six.

"No."

An earth-shattering yell escaped her lips as she fell to the ground. "No. No" Isabella cried, reaching for his body and holding it firm in her hands which were stained with his own blood.

"Leonardo!" She stared heavenward.

"Somebody help" Her voice was raucous from her screams, and she could taste the saltiness from her tears. She began to panic as the entire floor seemed to close in on her.

"Somebody call 911!" She screamed.

LESS THAN AN HOUR EARLIER.

Patricia just needed to know one thing.

One thing that would change the course of the night.

And her thin lips parted slowly. "Was it real?" She asked softly and he was restive in that chair, searching for the words to reply.

"How much of it was real, and how much was not?"

It was on seeing the difficulty in his brows that she rephrased to the actual question she'd come that night to ask him and Leonard pushed a lump down his throat, gazing into her ethereal eyes.

"Did you ever even love me?"
