Damian pov

I saw her go before she hit the ground.

I did not think my body moved before my mind caught up with it and I was across the room with my hands on her before I had fully processed what was happening. One arm around her waist. One hand gripping her arm. I pulled her against me and took her weight before the floor could.

She did not respond.

Her head fell against my shoulder. Completely limp. Completely gone.

"Hey." My voice came out sharper than I intended. I adjusted my grip and looked at her face. Eyes closed. Breathing but unconscious. "Hey."

Nothing.

Then I perceive a faint sweet flowery smell from her body.

"Damn it." I said it under my breath.

I looked around the empty private room and saw the signed document on the table. I picked it up and put it in my breast with one hand while I held her with another hand.

Then I looked down at her.

She was small but with a mouth that was sharper and bigger than her size suggested. I won't deny the fact that she is beautiful even in her unconsciousness you could still see her stubborn and relaxed but ready to argue look. But that wasn't any of my business. Because now she is suddenly unconscious and she was a problem I had not planned for this afternoon.

I did not put her down.

I picked up my phone and called my driver. Then I carried her out of the restaurant.

The host at the front looked up when he saw us coming. His eyes went wide. I watched him take in the scene. He opened his mouth.

"The door," I said.

He got the door.

My driver had the car at the curb so I got in the back with her still in my arms and told him Crestfield Medical Center.

Although he didn't say anything. But I saw the shock on his face in the rearview mirror. The way his eyes stayed on me a second longer than necessary before he pulled into traffic.

but I ignored him.

I wasn't in the mood to ask him why he looked shocked.

Getting to the hospital, she was admitted immediately.

Then I stood in the corridor while the Doctor took over.

Then I realized something

Hold on a DAMN MINUTE!!!!

Now I understand the look of shock that my driver gave me.

My body frozen and startled, I walked to the window at the end of the hallway.

And I looked down at my hands.

I turned them over slowly. Both sides. My palms. My forearms where my sleeves were rolled up. The wrist. The inside of my elbow.

Nothing.

No rash, no redness, no swelling, not even a hint of the burning that usually started within seconds of contact with a woman. The reaction that had put me in the ER more times than I could count.

Nothing.

I pressed my fingers against my own forearm. Checking. Making sure I was not missing something.

Still nothing.

NO NO NO NO!!

I said loudly in my head, something must be wrong.

How could I touch her without a reaction?

It's not even possible. Not in my twenty years.

I thought about the last time I was touched by a lady two years ago. An over affectionate business partner had grabbed my arm in a moment of celebration after we closed a deal. I was in the ER four hours later with my body in full revolt.

After that I had been more careful than ever.

And yet here I was. Standing in a hospital corridor with my hands completely clean.

I stood at that window looking at myself or should I say waiting for my allergies to flea up.

Then I walked back to her room. The doctor had stepped out. She was lying on the hospital bed, an IV line in her arm, still unconscious. Her dark hair spread across the white pillow.

I stood at the foot of the bed and looked at her.

Then I reached out and wrapped my hand around her wrist. Carefully. Just for a moment.

I waited.

Nothing happened.

I let go and stepped back.

Then a thought crossed my mind.

I knew immediately that it was wrong. I knew it before I had even fully formed the thought. But something in me wanted to know and needed to be completely sure.

I moved closer to the bed.

I looked at her face. Even in her unconsciousness she looked beautiful and peaceful and then I looked at her slightly parted lips.

I leaned down slowly.

And I kissed her.

Brief but careful enough not to wake her.

I pulled back and waited.

Nothing, no burning, no swelling, no reaction anywhere on my body.

I looked at her for a moment.

Then I leaned down a second time and kissed her again.

Still nothing.

I stood there in the room still in shock.

Twenty years of accepting that certain things would simply never be available to me.

But then this woman. This small stubborn infuriating woman filled with audacity.

I could touch her .

I stepped back from the bed.

Then my phone vibrated.

I looked at the screen.

Lucas. My secretary.

I stepped out of the room and answered.

"Mr Kade, Mr Caldwell's secretary

just called. He said that Mr Caldwell is back from Aspen and he is ready to meet.

Then he paused and continued ”But at his house”

I looked back through the small window in the door at the girl lying on the hospital bed.

"No problem, just tell them I will be there soon,"

I said.

"Yes sir.

I hung up.

At that exact moment the door opened and the doctor walked in.

"Mr Kade. I was just coming to update you."

"What is wrong with her," I said. "Why did she suddenly faint?"

The doctor looked at his chart then back at me. "She is pregnant as you may already know. She fainted from a combination of fatigue and poor nutrition. She has clearly not been eating or resting properly. With the right nutrition, proper rest and care she should be completely fine. There is nothing to be alarmed about."

I looked at Sara lying on the bed.

"Please take good care of her," I said. "Make sure she has everything she needs. Whatever she requires, you provide it."

"Of course," the doctor said.

"I will be back," I said to the doctor.

Then I left but with so many thoughts in mind and a new realization.

Sarai Vance's POVI sat frozen in the opulent expanse of the sitting room, my fingernails digging so deeply into the velvet upholstery of the armchair that it almost ripped the fabric. My breath was coming in shallow, jagged gasps, and my entire body was vibrating with a rage.I could still see the way Damian had looked at her. Not with the cold indifference he usually reserved for me, but with a possessive, primal protectiveness that made my stomach churn. The sheer audacity of it. The absolute, wretched injustice of it.I had felt a surge of triumph that nearly blinded me. When Sara's step sister Cassie had sent me those photographs. she had suggested that it was a good idea if we use the picture to weaponize Sara, and I had done exactly that, forwarding them to Margaret with a misleading message. I had sent the same images to Damian too anonymously.I had wanted him furious.I had played my part perfectly. I had sent the images to Damian’s mother, knowing that the picture would fu

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 46 Let go of my hand this instant! I want to discipline this slut!

Sara Hayes' POVThe moment the car stopped in the driveway, Damian was out of his door and walking briskly toward the house before I'd even managed to unbuckle my seatbelt.I hurried after him, my legs still unsteady from exhaustion, but his stride never slowed, never faltered, moving with a purpose that made me feel like I was chasing after a storm front rather than a person.Thomas appeared in the entryway, his expression immediately shifting to relief at the sight of us, though it faltered the instant he registered Damian's face."Sir, welcome home, I—"Damian didn't even glance at him. He continued walking, straight past Thomas like he hadn't spoken at all. Then, abruptly, he stopped. He turned, slowly, and I watched Thomas's entire posture change, his shoulders squaring slightly like a man bracing for impact."Thomas," Damian said, his voice quiet in a way that felt far more threatening than shouting ever could. "You have one hour to give me a reason why I shouldn't relieve you o

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 45 Are you ok?

Sara Hayes' POV"Miss Sara, someone is here for you," I stood up quickly, smoothing down the front of my dress, mentally preparing myself to see Thomas's familiar, kind face waiting on the other side of that door.Instead, I saw Damian. My stomach dropped instantly. He stood near the front entrance, still in his suit from work. His expression was unreadable, but the longer I looked at him, the more I recognized the tension coiled beneath his stillness.I had been sitting on a hard, plastic chair for three agonizing hours, my back aching and my stomach twisting uncomfortably every few minutes because I hadn't eaten anything since a few crackers that morning. My wrists still bear faint red marks from the handcuffs.Every time the door opened, I jumped, my heart hammering against my ribs like a trapped bird. The officers had spent the last few hours trying to lean on me, twisting my words, trying to convince me to admit that I had assaulted Mr Thorne. The nausea hit me in waves. I lean

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 44 Who exactly is your employer Thomas

Damian Kade's POVThe boardroom was silent except for the sound of my own fingers drumming against the polished glass table.Reynolds, the Head of Regional Operations, stood at the front of the room, his presentation slides frozen on a chart that made absolutely no logical sense, projected quarterly earnings for the Southeast distribution hub that somehow assumed a thirty percent growth rate with zero supporting data to justify it. The numbers didn't align, the projections were based on hallucinations, and his "strategy" for the next fiscal year sounded like something an undergraduate would come up with during a fever dream.I frowned, I could feel the irritation bubbling in my gut. I didn't believe in incompetence, I believed in results. And he was offering me rubbish wrapped in corporate jargon.Suddenly, he stopped and looked at me, saw the expression on my face, and physically recoiled. He started to stammer, the words catching in his throat like a fishhook."I—I believe, if we c

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 43 You liar!

Sara Hayes POVMy jaw dropped. "What? You liar! You—""And when I rejected her!" Thorne continued, raising his voice to drown me out, his face a mask of righteous indignation. "When I told her that I was a married man and that her advances were inappropriate, she snapped and slapped me !"He looked around at the onlookers, shaking his head in disgust. "Young girls these days... they don't ever want to actually work. They don't want to earn their way. They just want to climb the social ladder using people! They think their beauty is a currency they can use to blackmail or coerce their way into a lifestyle they didn't earn!"The atmosphere in the room shifted. The whispers started—a low, buzzing hiss of judgment. "Can you believe the nerve?""Look at her... she probably thought she could just sleep her way to the top.""Disgusting. Using her looks to try and trap a successful man."I felt the walls closing in. The embarrassment was a physical weight, crushing the breath from my lungs.

  • Pregnant Virgin (Darling please don't leave)   Chapter 42 HOW DARE YOU

Sara Hayes' POVSweet Rose Bakery turned out to be attached to a small business complex behind the storefront, a modest two-story building tucked into a quieter side street . As I stepped through the doors, the sudden blast of air conditioning chilled the sweat on my neck. I walked through that side door at exactly 10:50, ten minutes early, my nerves buzzing. The lobby, the white marble floors and the minimalist art hanging on walls that seemed too vast for the room looked amazing. It gave off a peaceful environment. The lobby smelled of ozone and a faint, lingering scent of lilies. The silence in here was broken only by the rhythmic click-clack of my own heels. At the center of the lobby sat a curved reception desk, a slab of black obsidian. Behind it sat a woman with a tight bun. She didn’t smile nor did she acknowledge my presence, only glancing up from her monitor with a look of mild annoyance."Good morning, my name is Sara Hayes, I have an interview for the bookkeeper position
