8. Don't Worry

Lucas had just finished buttoning his work shirt. As he reached for his glasses, his phone started ringing. Glancing briefly, he saw the name 'Chief Morales' which was none other than his father's contact, displayed clearly on the screen.

For a moment, Lucas just kept staring at it. Standing still, he listened to the phone ringing until it finally stopped.

Oddly, when the sound from his phone ceased, Lucas breathed a sigh of relief. He acted as though his father's call was like a death sentence he had to worry about.

Feeling safe, Lucas continued to get ready before heading to work. He was about to put on his watch when he jumped in surprise. His phone was ringing again, non-stop this time, almost as if it demanded to be answered immediately.

Lucas was well aware of his father's nature. The man behaved just like a moody teenager who insisted on terrorizing his girlfriend when their call was intentionally left unanswered. Besides, Lucas knew exactly what his father was going to discuss
