She stretched out her hand, offering him a handshake.

“Didn’t ask,” Jace said, not even looking at her.

[Zena] “Tough crowd.” She said.didn’t respond.

[Zena] “I actually came here for an interview.”

[Jace]“Wrong day,”

[Zena] “Yeah, I’m starting to see that,” she replied. “But I really need this job.”

Jace leaned back against the wall, arms folded. “Then you picked the wrong company.”

[Zena]“Why? Because you’re here?”

[Jace] “Careful,”

[Zena] “Just being honest.”

[Zena] “You’re Jace Norman, right

JACE’S POVThe cameras started flashing before the handcuffs even locked properly.White lights exploded across Jace Norman’s face and the second officers escorted him outside the mansion.Reporters screamed over one another behind the barricades.“JACE! DID YOU KILL DANIEL PARK?”“MR. NORMAN, ARE THE RUMORS TRUE?”“IS THE NORMAN FAMILY COVERING UP A MURDER?”“LOOK THIS WAY!”The sound became unbearable.Camera shutters.Police radios.Journalists shouting.Neighbors recording from their phones.Atlanta was feeding on the story already.Jace kept his expression cold while officers pushed him toward the police vehicle. But inside—His chest was tightening badly.Because this wasn’t supposed to happen. Not to him.Not publicly.A reporter shoved forward aggressively.“Jace! Did your wife witness the murder?”Detective Cole immediately stepped between them.“Back up.”Another reporter shouted— “Did Daniel Park know family secrets?”“Move back NOW,” Cole barked harder. The officers forced

  • Pregnant by the Playboy Heir    THE NAME FINALLY BREAKS

The rain finally stopped sometime after midnight. The streets of Atlanta looked strangely calm again. But inside Detective Raymond Cole’s car, tension still sat heavily in the air.The anonymous messages remained glowing on his phone screen.ONE MILLION DOLLARS.NO QUESTIONS. NO PROBLEMS.Cole stared at them quietly for a long moment. Then finally—He deleted every single message. Not because he was afraid.Because he was angry, very angry.A man was dead.Someone rich was manipulating witnesses. And now somebody believed he could be bought too.Cole started the engine again slowly.“Wrong detective,” he muttered under his breath. The next morning,Downtown Atlanta Police Department felt louder than usual.Phones were ringing.Officers moved quickly.Coffee machines humming.Rainwater was still dripping from umbrellas near the entrance.Detective Cole walked through the station carrying a file beneath his arm.The female officer from yesterday approached immediately.“You were here la

  • Pregnant by the Playboy Heir     FEAR HAS A NAME

The question hit harder than Jace expected.“Do you by any chance know a woman named Zena Hayes?”For the first time since entering the station—Jace’s expression slipped.Only for a second. But Detective Cole saw it.A tiny pause.A flicker in his eyes.Jace recovered quickly, though. His face relaxed again as he let out a soft laugh.“Zena Hayes?” he repeated casually.Cole watched him carefully. “Yes.”Jace shook his head once. “Never heard the name before.”Cole stayed silent.Jace forced another faint smile. “Should I know her?”“Maybe.”Jace folded his arms slowly. “No. I don’t know anybody called Zena Hayes.”His voice sounded calm. But Detective Cole noticed something else now.Jace’s fingers. They had tightened slightly against his sleeve. The tiny details were what mattered. But fear always escaped somewhere through the body.Cole kept his tone neutral. “That’s interesting.”“What is?”“Mallory Allison seemed pretty convinced she exists.”Jace scoffed lightly. “Mallory also

Rain still poured outside the Atlanta Police Department. The weather had turned ugly.Grey skies. Cold wind. Police sirens somewhere far away.Inside the station, Detective Raymond Cole stood near the observation window, watching Alejandro Romero inside the interrogation room.Romero looked worse now.Sweating.Restless.Scared.The old man kept rubbing his hands together while staring at the metal table like it had answers written on it.Cole noticed everything.Fear always looked different depending on the person. Some people became loud.Others became quiet.Romero looked like a man waiting for something terrible to happen. Then suddenly—One of the younger officers walked toward Cole quickly.“Detective.”Cole looked away from the glass. “What?”“There’s someone here asking about Daniel Park.”“Family?”“No sir.”The officer hesitated briefly.“It’s Jace Norman.”Cole’s expression changed slightly.Interesting.Very interesting.—The front lobby of the station had gone unusuall

  • Pregnant by the Playboy Heir    CONFESSIONS HAVE SHADOWS

Rain tapped the windows of the Atlanta Police Department.Detective Raymond Cole stood near the evidence board staring at the crime scene photos again.Daniel Park’s body, the cliff, the river, the bruises. All on the investigation sketch board.Nothing about the case felt clean anymore.Behind him, officers moved around carrying files and coffee while phones rang nonstop across the floor. But Cole barely noticed any of it.His mind remained stuck on one thing. The Ferrari.Mallory Allison’s reaction didn't look fake.Confused? Yes.Emotional? Definitely. But not fake. He thought to himself.Detective Cole rubbed his jaw slowly before finally speaking.“Run it again.”The tech officer looked up from the computer. “Run what again?”“The Ferrari.”“We already checked traffic cameras.”“I know.”The officer frowned slightly. “Then what exactly are we looking for?”Cole walked toward the desk.“I want every Ferrari registered in Atlanta pulled up.”The tech officer blinked once. “Every Fe

“This is insane.”Mallory pushed herself away from the interrogation table abruptly.Detective Cole remained seated calmly while the other officers inside the room watched her carefully.“You’re telling me there’s no Zena?” Mallory asked.“That’s exactly what we’re telling you,” Detective Cole replied.Mallory laughed nervously.“No. No, that’s impossible.”The female officer folded her arms. “You said she worked for the Norman Enterprise.”“She does!”“We checked.”Mallory shook her head repeatedly.“Then check again.”“We already did.”“Then your people are incompetent.”Detective Cole sighed quietly.“Miss Allison—”“No.” Mallory snapped immediately. “You don’t understand.”She started pacing now.“There was a girl there, she wore a black dress, she had dark hair, with a very sharp mouth and an annoying attitude.”The officers exchanged glances.Mallory pointed toward them aggressively.“She drove the Ferrari!”“There was no Ferrari.”“There WAS!”Detective Cole leaned back slight
