CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Carolina tossed her phone on the sofa and angrily walked to the balcony.

Her jaw tightened as she recalled how he acted when she brought amelia up.

She thought amelia was not a threat, but he proved her wrong.

No one will take you away from me,Roman.

She spoke to herself as the maid,Mrs. Franklin walked towards her.

"Ma,the food you asked me to prepare is ready,"

She hissed and pushed the woman walking back into the house.

Mrs. Franklin shook her head sadly. She felt annoyed but didn't say anything..

Amelia sat on the bed. She had been gloomy and worried since she saw the post online, plus the threat message.

Any little noise ahead heard made her scared,she took her bag and placed her CV in it,she was supposed to go to hunting but since she saw Roman,she had been restless.

The pictures had gone viral, and she wondered what people were saying.She intentionally refused to go online since yesterday , and she hated PR dramas.

Her phone rang,picking it up. It was Doctor Steve.

"Hey Steve."

"Amelia,are you okay?" He asked worriedly over the phone.

She smiled softly."Yeah,I am fine."

"Dont mind whatever they are saying online,dont listen -"

"I know,honestly,I dont care." She spoke calmly as she looked out of her window,watching the day get brighter.

"Okay,would you come see your mother today?"

She contemplated,she had been having morning sickness and her mother will surely notice if she went there

"No,I will be busy, but Zelda would come,it's weekend. "

He nodded as if she could see him. "Bye,"

After the call,Amelia walked out of her room,her body weaker than usual.

She dragged herself to the kitchen. As she walked in,she was startled to see Zelda.

"I thought you had gone to see mum," Zelda ignored, tossing the pancakes with care.

Amelia stared at her,"Zelda? " she glanced at her elder sister before breathing deeply.

"Sis,why are you doing this to yourself?"

"Zelda? What..''

"You have your pictures all over the internet,you and that monster who hurt you so bad! Why did you meet him!"

Zelda spoke with trembling voice,looking away,Amelia sighed.

"Zelda,it's not what you think,okay? He just came to see mother -"

"What! The same man that pushed me to the ground when I begged him to release you! He hurt us so bad! And you let him near mum? " she yelled, annoyed that Roman Voss had the audacity to show his face after al, he did to amelia.

Amelia walked towards her and pulled her into a hug.

"Zelda,be calm,calm down pls " she rubbed her hands on her back, and Zelda's panting slowly disappeared.

This wasn't the first time Zelda was so mad,it had started when amelia nearly died 4 years ago after saving a stranger.

Zelda thought she would lose her only sibling, and since then,she had been extra protective.

"I am sorry,okay? I have told him not to visit again,he won't dare. " she tried to soothe Zelda as Zelda slowly hugged her back.

"I just don't want him to hurt you again," she and her sister's affectionately hugging brought tears to Amelia's eyes.

She just remembered the text.

I would do anything to make sure my family is saved. No one will harm them if I stay away from Roman.

Zelda packaged the homemade pancakes into her bag as she watched amelia.

Amelia was staring into space,holding her tummy lightly.

Zelda's eyes soften.

"Everything will be fine,okay? Are you going for the antenatal? "

Zelda brought out a paper.

Amelia collected it 'free antenatal for women'

At st John hospital,"anyone is welcome,its a 3 days free antenatal,it will save some money and beside,the hospital is a renowned one" Zelda spoke excitedly,"okay,I will go"

A few hours later,amelia had walked out of the free antenatal program to answer a call. It was an unknown number, but it had been calling since.

"Hello?"

She spoke softly,eyes on her phone as she stepped away from the noise.

"Is this Amelia Hale? I am calling from mz global limited,you are among the applicants choosen for the next interview, ensure to go through your email and be here on time tomorrow "

Amelia's eyes widened,MZ global? She held the balcony,wide smile on as she wondered how it would be if she finally got her dream job.

She had landed an interview, she was overjoyed.

Turning to leave,her heart beat quickened when she heard the unmistakable voice of Juliana talking to a nurse?

She hid behind the balcony,her hands trembling as she held her antenatal form in the other hand.

She had totally forgotten,this was the same hospital that grandma pia was admitted. She, too, was here,but leaving Roman on her mind,she barely looked at the hospital.

They must not see her.

She didn't want anyone knowing,

"Look who we have here." She was startled to hear someone from behind.

She closed her eyes, silently praying it wasn't someone who knew her.

Carolina walker stood in all her glory glaring at amelia.She had stepped to the balcony to call Roman,she had been waiting for him for over 20 minutes and it was getting on her nerves only to turn back to see the girl who dare to steal her man.
