Author’s POV

Two days later

The hospital room was silent.

Too silent.

The machines were still working, their soft beeping the only proof that the woman lying on the bed was alive. Amelia lay there like a statue, her body stiff, her eyes open but empty. She did not blink. She did not move. She did not react to sound, light, or touch.

It was as if her soul had been drained out of her body and only the shell remained.

The doctor stood at the foot of the bed, his brows tightly drawn together as he observed her. He had seen patients shut down before, but this… this was different. This was not just grief. This was complete withdrawal.

“How long has she been like this?” the doctor asked quietly, not taking his eyes off Amelia.

The nurse standing beside him sighed softly. Her face was tired, her eyes filled with concern.

“She’s been like this for two days,” the nurse replied. “Ever since she was restrained.”

The doctor turned to look at her. “Two full days?”

“Yes,” the nurse said. “She hasn’t

Author’s POV“I am the queen,” she said, her voice loud and clear. “And you will speak to me with respect.”Murmurs rippled through the hall.Elena crossed her arms. “You don’t get to act like a dictator just because you’re upset.”Clara took another step forward.“Amelia has been missing for two days,” she said. “No one leaves this palace. No one eats. No one breathes freely, until I know where she is.”Gasps echoed.Kate stared at her. “You think we have her?”“I think this palace is full of liars,” Clara replied. “And until proven otherwise, everyone is a suspect.”Elena laughed nervously. “We haven’t seen her since the wedding.”“And why should we follow your orders?” Kate snapped. “I am still the queen.”The temperature in the hall seemed to drop.Clara smiled. But there was no warmth in it.“No,” she said softly. “You’re not.”She leaned in, her voice low and lethal.“You’re a dead old woman who refuses to stay dead.”The crowd froze.Kate’s face turned pale.Elena tried to rega

Guards moved back and forth. Servants whispered in corners. Everything looked normal on the outside. But nothing was normal. Her fingers tightened around the edge of the window frame. Her jaw was clenched so hard it ached. She had survived wars. She had faced assassins. She had forced a kingdom to bend to her will. But this? This fear was different. This fear had a name.Amelia.Clara turned away from the window and paced the room like a caged predator. Her boots hit the marble floor with sharp, angry sounds. Every step carried frustration, guilt, and dread. She should have protected her sister. She should have noticed sooner. She should never have let her out of her sight. Her wolf, Lara, was restles

Author’s POVAmelia walked out of the hospital like a ghost that had forgotten it was supposed to be dead. The automatic doors slid open behind her, but she did not look back. The cool night air brushed against her skin, yet she felt nothing. No cold. No warmth. No fear. Whatever part of her once felt those things had been buried along with her unborn child. Her hospital gown fluttered around her legs as she stepped onto the empty street. Cars passed in the distance. People laughed somewhere far away. Life was still moving for everyone else. But Amelia’s world had stopped. She placed a hand on her flat stomach, her fingers pressing hard, as if she could still feel something there. He was here, her mind whispered. They took him from me.Her lips curved into a small, strange smile.“It’s okay,” she murmured to herself. “I’ll fix everything.”She began to walk. She didn’t know where she was going, and she didn’t care. Her feet carried her forward as if guided by something dark and unseen

Author’s POV“Don’t you want justice?” she asked. “Don’t you want revenge on the people who tortured you… the people who caused you to lose your baby?”At that, Amelia’s fingers twitched slightly. The nurse noticed immediately.Encouraged, she leaned forward.“If you don’t eat, you won’t be strong enough to fight back,” the nurse said. “You won’t be strong enough to make them pay.”Amelia’s eyes shifted, just a little. The nurse’s heart skipped.“We saw the marks on your body,” the nurse continued carefully. “The whip marks. Someone hurt you. You don’t deserve that.”Amelia’s breathing changed. It became slower. Deeper.Still, she did not speak. The nurse sighed softly.“I know you lost your baby,” she said gently. “But… you can always make another one.”The moment the words left her mouth, everything changed.Amelia moved. For the first time in two days, she turned her head.Slowly.Deliberately.Her eyes met the nurse’s.Then she smiled. It was not a normal smile. It was wide, unnat

  • Pregnant For My Husband’s Father    Chapter 157

Author’s POVAmelia lay still on the narrow hospital bed, her body weak, her head heavy, her throat dry as if she had been screaming for days. The room smelled of disinfectant and cold metal. The steady beep… beep… beep of a machine filled the silence, slow and unforgiving. She slowly opened her eyes.At first, everything was blurry. The white ceiling above her seemed too bright, too clean. A shadow moved beside her, and she turned her head slightly, wincing from the dull pain that spread through her body.A woman stood next to the bed, dressed in pale blue scrubs. She held a clipboard in one hand and a pen in the other, her eyes focused, professional. She was checking Amelia’s vitals, adjusting tubes and wires as if this were just another normal day.“Great, you’re finally awake,” the woman said gently. It took a few seconds for Amelia’s mind to catch up.Awake? The word echoed in her head. Then it hit her.The memories crashed into her all at once—too fast, too hard. The wedding hal
