Elena’s POV

The clock had already struck past nine when I finally gathered the courage to call Mathias.

The house was quiet, almost unnaturally so. The kind of quiet that settles after a storm, when everything is still dripping, still trembling, still trying to understand what just happened. Even the air hummed with tension, the leftover echo of decisions too large to sit comfortably in one person’s chest.

Mathias picked up on the third ring.

“Elena,” he said, his tone carrying that familiar, weary calm of a man who had witnessed more chaos than any human should. “You’re still awake?”

“I had to speak with you,” I said softly, pacing back and forth near the living room window. The city lights shimmered beyond the glass, indifferent to the weight of the world pressing on my shoulders. “It’s about the plan I came up with,”

A short pause. Then a quiet, knowing chuckle.

“The one Raymond said you’d call me about?”

“Yes,” I breathed. “That one.”

  • Pregnant for the Heartless Billionaire   186 Tender Moments After

Elena’s POVHe stepped under the spray first, pulling me with him. The water hit my skin like a warm embrace, soaking through my remaining clothes. Damien’s hands were everywhere, unclasping my bra, sliding my panties down my hips until I stood bare before him.I closed my eyes, letting the heat seep into my aching muscles. His fingers worked shampoo into my hair, massaging my scalp with firm, circular motions that drew a soft moan from my lips. He rinsed it out, then reached for the body wash, lathering his hands before gliding them over my shoulders, down my arms, across my breasts. His thumbs brushed my nipples, teasing them into tight peaks. I arched toward him instinctively, the tiredness fading under his touch.“You’re so beautiful,” he said, his voice rough with desire. “Every inch of you.”He turned me around, pressing my back to his chest, and soaped my stomach, his hands dipping lower. One palm cupped my breast, kneading gently, while the other slid between my thighs. His fin

  • Pregnant for the Heartless Billionaire   185 The Quiet After the Celebration

Elena’s POVBy the time we got home, the night had sunk into a peaceful, velvety darkness. The kind of calm that only comes after a day bursting with colour, noise, laughter, and life. The kind of silence that feels earned, deserved, heavenly. The soft glow of the foyer light welcomed us as we stepped inside, the very home that not long ago had been stormed by fear and chaos. Now it felt whole again. Warm again. Blessed again.Jacob stirred sleepily on my shoulder, his tiny fists curling into my sari blouse as if trying to hold on to the last flicker of his dream. Mrs. Longman reached for him instantly, her face lighting up with tenderness.“Give him to me, Madam,” she said softly. “I’ll change him and settle him for the night.”“Thank you,” I whispered, placing Jacob gently into her arms. She kissed his forehead, cooed at him, then disappeared toward the nursery.Damien was already lifting Arya into his arms. She was half-asleep, her little head lolling against his chest, bangles sti

  • Pregnant for the Heartless Billionaire   184 A Year of New Beginnings

Elena’s POVOne year changes everything. One year ago, my life was a battlefield, full of gunshots, betrayal, trials, tears, and the terror that kept me awake at night. Now…I stood under a canopy of marigolds and jasmine garlands, surrounded by music, laughter, colour, and warmth. It felt surreal, like stepping into a different universe. A universe where the sun shone brighter, where families gathered without fear, where joy didn’t feel borrowed or fragile. It felt like stepping into peace.A full year of peace. We were at Elijah and Alia’s wedding, an Indian wedding, rich in tradition and beauty, the kind of ceremony you don’t just witness, but feel in your bones, deep in your soul. The venue was a palace-like garden resort in Evercrest, lit by hundreds of floating lanterns and strings of golden fairy lights woven through palm trees. The smell of sandalwood incense drifted through the air, mixing with the sweetness of rosewater and warm vanilla.Women wore lehengas sewn with gold th

  • Pregnant for the Heartless Billionaire   182 A Home Full of Sirens

Damien’s POVThe drive home was the longest of my life.Arya wouldn’t stop clinging to me.Brian buried his face in my shirt and refused to look up, trembling in small, silent waves. His tiny fists were clenched so tightly around my collar that I felt his nails through the fabric.I didn’t tell them to stop. I didn’t loosen their grip. I didn’t ask them to sit back in their seat belts.I needed them touching me. I needed to feel their warmth. Their breath. Their weight. To remind myself that they were alive. Alive because I got there in time.Adrian drove like a man possessed, knuckles white, eyes sharp. He didn’t speak, didn’t look away from the road, didn’t ease up on the speed even for a second. An unspoken truth hung thick between us:If we had been a few minutes later… a few seconds later… things might have gone differently. But now that fear had a new shape.A new direction.Home.What waited for us there.Elena.God, Elena.I dialed her number again. Still unreachable.

  • Pregnant for the Heartless Billionaire   181 The Night the Walls Closed In

Elena’s POVThe house felt too quiet.Too large. Too hollow. Too cold. After everything that had happened, silence wasn’t comforting, it was suffocating. Silence meant my mind had room to spiral. Silence meant my heart had space to break again. Silence meant something could slip through the cracks without warning.I sat in the great room with Alia and Darian, waiting for updates, waiting for Damien, waiting for anything that resembled hope. But Damien’s phone still went straight to voicemail, and every time I tried to call, the same automated voice met me.“The number you’re trying to reach is currently unavailable…”Unavailable. The word clawed at my chest.I tried again. And again. And again.Still nothing. My leg bounced uncontrollably. My palms were damp. My breathing shallow.“Elena, sweetheart, sit,” Alia whispered gently, placing a hand on my back.I did. Only because my legs wouldn’t hold me anymore. It was then Darian’s phone rang.He stepped away to answer. His express
