FAZER LOGINDAVE’S POV
“Answer me, goddammit!” I clenched my fist, waiting for a response. “And don’t you dare tell me you’re at home, Sara. There are cameras in the rooms and I know you didn’t sleep there last night. So, I’ll ask you once again. Where the hell are you?” “I’m at Liz’s.” “Liz,” the words stumbled out of my mouth. I knew she was lying. Liz was right here with me. “Yes,” she answered. “Are you lying to me?” “Why would I be? Liz was sick, so I came over to her place. I’m sorry…I should have told you but you told me you’d be very busy.” I clenched my jaw. “Liz says hi,” she continued. “She’s getting better so I will be back home today. How did the meeting go?” Was she cheating on me? “It was great,” I said. “Next time, don’t leave the house without telling me. Do you understand?” “Yes, I understand.” I ended the call. “She’s cheating on me,” I muttered angrily. Liz hissed. “Sara? She would never do that.” I faced her. “Why do you say so?” “That woman loves you too much to be in the arms of another man.” She scoffed. “She can’t even nurse a crush on another man.” “Then why did she lie?” I stood up. “She’s not home…and she said she was with you.” Liz shrugged. “I don’t know.” I lowered my brow. “Did she tell you about any man?” Liz shook her head. “No. Sara isn’t sleeping with another man. I can vouch for that.” She stood up and pulled her robe. “Why not have fun instead of talking about her. This vacation was supposed to be about us alone.” I stared at her nude form for a while. “You know what,” I said. “You’re right. And I’m going to find out the truth when I return back to Chicago." She threw her hands around my neck and kissed me. “You do that. Right now, I just want us to continue from where we stopped.” I pulled away briefly. “And Horace? Why hasn’t he called?” Liz scoffed. “His name is a mood spoiler, Dave. Don’t call his name when I’m turned on.” She pushed my robe away and kissed my nipple, moaning against it. But my mind was not in the moment. I was still thinking about the call. This was the first time, since we were married, that Sara would leave the house without telling me. I had been so confident that she was too devoted to cheat on me. But that confidence was failing. “Babe, you’re still,” Liz said. “Do something. Hold me.” She scoffed as she reached for my brief. “You aren’t even hard yet. I know just what you need.” She pushed me to the bed and knelt over me. She was reaching for my brief when the tone of my ringing phone sliced through the air. I pulled up immediately, pushing her aside. “What the—Dave!” I reached for the phone. “Mr. Wright,” the caller said. “I thought I should let you know that a woman was here yesterday to inspect the house.” I sat up. “A woman?” I glanced at Liz. We had been together all day yesterday. “Describe her.” “Blonde haired, slim…she introduced herself as Mrs. Wright.” “What?” “She didn’t want you to know that she was here…but I thought it was important you knew because she’s different from the one you usually bring to check the house.” “Okay. Did she say anything?” “She came with a man.” My heart stopped. “A man? Did he introduce himself?” “No. He was in the car the whole time.” I clenched my fist. Sara had played me for a fool. She was here in Indiana, and she lied to me. She knew about the house. Did she also know about the affair? “Did she enter the house?” “She stood by the entrance and left hurriedly.” I nodded. “Thank you. Let me know if she visits again.” I ended the call, clenching my jaw. “What was that about?” Liz asked. I dropped the phone. “She knows, Liz. She knows about the house….she definitely knows about us.” Liz shook her head and drew closer to me. “No. I was with her only last week. Sara doesn’t know—” “And the house?! How did she know?” I lowered my brow. “Did you yap around and let her know?” Liz frowned. “Dave. I can’t believe you’d say that.” “Fuck!” “What does it even matter? You’re going to divorce her and marry me, aren’t you?” “It’s not that simple.” “No, Dave. It’s not that difficult. People fall out of love everyday. I’m waiting for you to divorce her so I can leave that poor, miserabe Horace.” She drew closer. “We belong together, babe.” “Don’t be dense, Liz. Divorce doesn't work that way.” I stood up, exhaling deeply. I needed to call her. I needed to know what she knew and how she knew about the house. I reached for my phone, dialing her number. It rang and went straight to voicemail. “Pick up…pick up!” I dialed again and waited. “Dave?” I clenched my fist when I heard her voice. “You’re calling me again,” she said. “You must be really missing me.” “Cut the crap, Sara,” I snapped, my chest exploding with anger. “I know you’re in Chicago and you came here with a man. So, right now, I’ll be doing the questions and you’ll fucking answer me truthfully. Are you cheating on me?”DAVE’S POV“Answer me, goddammit!”I clenched my fist, waiting for a response.“And don’t you dare tell me you’re at home, Sara. SARA’S POVI felt a sharp exhale from him. “You’re going to regret this by morning.”I shook my head. “I’ll hate myself in the morning if I spend the night crying over him. Touch me, Horace. I want to be touched like a woman.” I grabbed his hand and placed it on my chest. He didn’t take it away.“Touch me properly, Horace.”“Sara…” his voice was heavy. “No strings.”“No strings attached. I agree. I’m done with relationships and love. I just want…”He turned and his hands cupped my face. His eyes fell to my bare chest before he spoke. “I mean it, Sara. This is nothing more than…revenge sex.”I smiled. “Yes. That is what it is.”I pulled the towel off his waist slolwly and my gaze shifted downward at his hardness. My thighs trembled immediately with a need to have that hard cock lodged between them. Our breathing intensified. And when his lips touched mine, I forgot about everything. His hands cupped my breasts and feelings I had not felt in a long time—that I had not felt before—woke
SARA’S POVThe address led us to a huge expanse of land. On it sat a large apartment. “Do you think…?” I stopped. “I just want to know what the house is all about.”Dave had told me he was building a branch for the company. But the building in front of me didn’t look like a company.“Do you need any help?” Horace asked.I shook my head. “No. I can handle this.”I stepped out of the house, wiping every tear from my face. I stepped towards the house, looking around. It was beautiful and larger than the house we had in Chicago. I would have been excited about it if I had not just seen him kissing my best friend. “Excuse me.”I turned around sharply and met a young man behind me.“How can I help you?”Immediately, the car door opened and Horace stepped out. “I’m alright,” I told him. “I can handle this.”I returned to the man before me. “Mrs. Wright,” I said, introducing myself. His face beamed with recognition."Oh, I’m sorry. You look a little different today.”“Different?”“My apolo
Sara’s POVI stayed awake most of the night, staring mostly into the air. The document from Dave’s office still sat on the nightstand and I was afraid to read it and find out the truth that would hurt me. But by morning, Horace arrived. It was the first time I was bringing anyone home. Dave had strict rules I have always lived by. I never brought any friends to the house. Not even Liz. “H-hi. Good morning,” I said, wrapping myself. “How was your ride here?”I gestured for him to sit. “Good,” he answered. “How long until you get dressed?”I stared at my nightrobe. “Uhm…fifteen. I’ll be down in fifteen.”He nodded and relaxed against the couch. “Take your time. I can wait.”I hurried upstairs, my heart racing. This was it. I was going t
Sara’s POV“My wife is screwing your husband.” I pulled the phone away from my ear just to be sure it was Horace Beckham on the line. The knife in my hand remained midair. I pushed the vegetables away and leaned against the island. Then I chuckled. “Your cousin, Liz,” he repeated.I chuckled again, because it couldn’t be true. It was as crazy as saying it was raining in summer. Then I shook my head. “No. You must be mistaken.” My hand gripped my apron tightly. “Is this some kind of joke? A prank?” I chucked nervously. “I’m really not in the mood for pranks.”But his voice didn’t crack into a laugh. “Have I ever called you, Sara?”He hadn’t. The only time Horace Beckham called me was the morning after my wedding. And that had been because Liz insisted… and Dave was his friend.I shook my head even though he could not see me. “My hus—Dave loves me,” I maintained. He scoffed. “I thought Liz loved me too.”No. The thought of Dave cheating on me was impossible. With Liz? That coul
