With no option left to choose, Jack dragged her along, unsure of where they were headed.

“You see, Jack, I think I can give you everything you want,” She paused to look him in the eye, “If only you let me.”

“What do you mean by everything I want?” He asked with his eyes, but she just flashed him another open-toothed smile.

When they crossed to the other end of the street and she hailed a taxi, he just followed, like a mule led to the slaughterhouse. He needed to be anywhere but the crime scene, so it was allowed.

Fifteen minutes later, he was seated in her room in a dingy little house, near the popular café Mericourt.

“You have a nice house by the way. Small but comfy." He commented, strangely feeling at home.
