Valentine wondered what was wrong with him. She recalled Delilah’s words a day after her wedding with William. She said Adam would yell and curse at her whenever she spoke on the night after the wedding. If Adam was going to stay like that with Delilah, it would be best if he’d just leave her.

She felt something cold poke on her lips. Valentine looked up at the amused William, then she laughed. “What?”

“We need to finish all of these first,” he answered as he brought the fish balls to her mouth.

Hesitantly, considering that they were in public, with lots of people around the place and her friend Delilah right beside her, she just wanted to snatch it away from William’s hand and eat it by herself.

“Don’t think about it. I’m feeding you,” William spoke threateningly as he poked her mouth. “Now, open.”
