I could feel his eyes on me as I set down his plate, not once meeting his gaze. It wasn't the first time I was going to have to pretend like I was a clueless and tender girl. It was what men like him needed, behaving the way I did made sure men like him kept coming back to eat here.

I finally met his gaze, sending him a small smile before walking away with an added sway in my hips.

______________

I walked down the dark and lonely alley with my duffle bag hanging loosely behind me. I had shed some more tears walking down memory lane, from the first day I started working here till now, my experience would have been more cherished if I had made some friends. But I wasn't exactly the social butterfly, I only spoke to people I needed to and no one else.

I sighed as reality came tumbling down like a pile of bricks.

I needed to find a new job. It was going to be very hard to find a job in this over populated city, especially one that pays well enough to help with my bills. I kept my eyes trained on the path ahead as I held tightly to the hand of my bag and I proceeded to turn by the sharp corner.

I jerked when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey"

I stared wide eyed at the man with hazel eyes. My hands clutched tightly to my chest as it rose and fell.

"Sorry if I frightened you miss.....?"

He trailed off waiting for my response.

"Jasmine, but you can call me Jess" I tried to hide the discomfort that was painted all over my face. Did this guy follow me?

Was he a kidnapper!

I probably shouldn't have told him my name. I mentally face palmed, if he was indeed a kidnapper he was a good looking one at that. I wouldn't mind being kidnapped my him tho...

"Okay Jess... " he trailed off as his eyes fell on my duffle bag and a pinch formed between his eyebrows. "What's in the bag?"

I adjusted my bag to sit further behind me, away from his line of sight.

"Oh.. Uh nothing much, just a few stuff from my old job"

Why was I telling him this!

"Old job?" He asked with an amused look on his face.

"Yeah, old. I got fired today"

I avoided his gaze uncomfortably tapping my ballet flats on the hard tailed side walk.

"That's great" he said with a small smile on his face that immediately faded once he saw my facial expression.

"No I meant, I wanted to offer you a job, now that I heard you've been fired it's just right timing" he blurted out quickly and nervously , playing with the end of his blazer, boring holed into the side walk. His hand went into his blazer and he pulled out a white card, handing it over to me and I hesitantly took it.

My eyes fell on the words "BLACK EMPIRE" written boldly in gold cursive.

I looked just below the words to see an address.

"What-" I trailed off looking up to see the empty ally that I had just come from. He was gone, without another word.

I stared from the business card in my hand to the empty ally where he stood a few minutes ago.

I yawn, getting up from the bed I walk out of my room.. Where's mum? I rub my eyes as I walk down the flight of stairs, my vision a little blurry. I squint my eyes to see the bright light coming from the kitchen. Mum must be making cookies! I smile, eagerly making my way towards the brightly lit kitchenAnticipating mum's famous chocolate chip cookies. I stopped dead in my tracks as all the breath was knocked out of me. All the blood in me ran cold as I saw mum lying on the floor in a pool of her own blood. I felt my knees go weak and I fell to the ground, my eyes not leaving my dear mother's face. "M-m-mum"I whisper her name, not daring to move closer to her. Her face was ghostly pale, her lips were blue. Her blue eyes we're lifelessly cold as they stared at the roof, not moving. I felt my world crumble underneath me, all the colour had drained from my face as my breathing became erratic. I stared at mother's lifeless corpse, no tears came, nothing.I just sat there for

JasmineI adjusted my weight from foot to foot, feeling nervous under Damon's intense stare. "Same Mr Black"I broke the silence, trying to add some humor but he doesn't seem phased. His eyes still raked my body before they came back to meet my dark orbs. "I didn't think you could afford to dine at such a prestigious restaurant Jasmine" He spoke, a dominant tone dripping off his words. I internally scoff. He doesn't even know me and yet he's already judging me, who does he think he is! "I'm here with my uncle, it's his restaurant" I meet his gaze, trying my best not to let his scrutinizing stare phase me, but my weak knees and flushed face betray me. He scratches his stubble, eyeing me up the more. Can't this guy stop staring for one second!! The way he looks at me makes my knees want to give in. I hadn't even realised how sexy he looked in his all black suit which I knew all too well was Armani and his matching dress shoes. His dark hair was disheveled, giving him that 'b

So that interview was an absolute train wreck. I was practically melting into Mr Black's embrace. I'm so pathetic. I groaned having flashbacks of the interview, most of my reactions making me cringe. Was I really that desperate for a job? Is that seriously the reason why I was practically drooling over the Damon Black? I didn't know how I particularly felt about getting cozy with my boss, something about him just threw me off balance. Ignoring how horribly the interview went, I was actually looking forward to our dinner. I didn't know why but I felt like I needed to see him again, I must be running crazy or something. His emerald green eyes played in my mind, the idea of seeing him again making goosebumps rise on my olive skin. Deciding it would be better to just wait for the call from his secretary, I went ahead to read through the documents he gave me. Making sure I read everything over twice to make sure there were no faults of any kind. My eyes darted to a line that mad

"You have good work experience" She had three to four years of work experience for top restaurants and top business men but non could compare to my empire tho. I was so close, her small puffs off breath were pushing against the thin fabric of my white shirt. "But have you worked in such environment before, it may be challenging"I watched her reaction attentively, as her face rose so her eyes could meet mine"I assure you sir, I am up for the challenge" she proudly spoke not breaking eye contact. We will see Ms Scott, we'll see. "I wish I had more time to discuss this, but Raymond didn't exactly inform me of your coming, otherwise I would have made out proper time for this. • Property of Mr. Black   ~Chapter 4- Perfect

𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞The interior of this office was so posh and clean. The white tiled walls, the black marble floors and the windows that held the view of the whole city was breathtaking. I didn't have enough time to admire the view as this drop dead gorgeous man towered over me, he was like a head taller than me. His eyes roaming my body from head to toe and I just stood there, staring awkwardly at his dark leathered shoes. I took a quick glance of him. Drop dead gorgeous would be an understatement, his emerald green eyes we're a vibrant colour, his jet black hair was styled to the back with some strands framing his perfectly sculpted face. The thing fabric of his white T-shirt showed the definition of his masculine build, his muscly chest, his broad shoulders, big biceps and small torso. He looked like a Greek god to be completely honest. It should be illegal to look this nerve wrecking. The first three buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a patch of clear slightly tanned skin
