Chapter 3

One year and six months since their so-called wedding. Things have changed after that. Well, some of it.

Philip had decided for the both of them to go and look for another place to stay because his mansion was too big for the both of them. Or at least that’s what Jessica thought since her so-called husband was always busy at work and rarely comes home. In that one whole year, they never had a decent conversation. Not even once. Jessica will always open up a topic but the lad always replies with just one word.

Philip was a very busy person. Jessica could see that. She surely wished she could be busy one day too, but that couldn't happen since she can't do a damn thing at their house.

She was disturbed when the door opened. It was Philip.

"Follow me." The lad strictly said. Jessica was obviously confused to what's going to happen but as usual, she did what she was told.

She made her way out of her room and followed the lad in his room.

Once she was inside, her eyes roamed around the room. It was bigger than hers. So much bigger. Philip's room was surprisingly neat, 'unlike his attitude', Jessica had thought.

From where she was standing, she had good look of the things that were inside. There was a flat screen television beside his small bookshelf. His bed was huge, it was a king-size bed. “A whole family could fit there,” Jess whispered to herself. She also notices the only picture hanging on the wall.

It was a framed picture of a constellation, taking a mental note to search for it later. While she’s quite aware of the phrase ‘curiosity killed the cat,’ she still couldn’t help but wonder why he placed that photo there, where most people would have images of their families. Philip really is one mysterious human being.

To Jessica's realization, she remembered the reason why she was here. Philip told her to follow him inside. But the lad was nowhere in sight. 'She asked me to follow her but where is she now?' She asked herself.

And just right then, Philip came out of one door, which Jessica assumed was the bathroom, because the lad came out with only a towel covering his lower body. His hair was dripping so Jessica assumed that he just got out of the shower. The brunette admitted, the lad was really fit. She wonders if he works out or he’s just God’s favorite for blessing him with such a great body. Her eyes slowly fell to his toned stomach and made her wonder how hard it might be if she touched it.

Jessica mentally pinched herself of what she was thinking.

"Uhm, I'll just wait o—outside," She said unknowingly and turned to the door. Now she knows the consequences she'll face if she ever does this again. She mentally noted to herself to knock before you enter since she just followed the lad inside without asking permission.

But before she could open the door, she heard Philip’s voice. "Don't you dare open that door." He said, coldly. She brought her hand back to her side. "Turn and face me." The lad commanded and Jessica obliged but kept her attention on the ground. "Look at me." He said and Jessica slowly looked up only to be met by the lad's ocean blue eyes, who seemed to be dull in Jessica's opinion.

She slowly walked to the brunette; his eyes fixed on her caramel ones.

Once they were only a foot apart, Philip stopped and glanced at the brunette who seemed to be sweating. "You're sweating, why?" He suddenly asked and walked further more close to the brunette.

"Uhm, could you please stop there? Don't go near me, please?" She nervously said and looked down on the floor again. But since Philip was only a few inches away, he held her chin up, making the brunette look at him again.

"You didn't answer my question." He said coldly. Jessica couldn't answer herself as well. She didn't know why she was sweating; the room was airconditioned, it’s not even hot in there. Maybe it’s because of how close they are right now. Yeah, maybe that was the reason.

Jessica was about to push the lad away, but his words stopped her. "Don't touch me," he warned the brunette. "You might regret it."

They stayed like that for a minute, Jessica still sweating and the lad inching closer to her. After a good five minutes, the lad turned and walked towards his closet, leaving a nervous and gulping Jessica.

"Pack your things. We'll leave tomorrow." He said, not even throwing Jessica a glance.

"Where are we going?"

"Don't ask, just do what you are told." He said bluntly. "You can leave now."

Jessica scampered off walking outside the room, but took one last glance at the lad who was now wearing a white tee top that hugged his body well.

Jessica couldn't sleep. The scene earlier occupied her mind.

'Why is he like that? I mean, why would he do that? And where is he taking me now?' The brunette asked herself while staring at the ceiling.

"I just need to hope for the best. Dear Lord help me." She said before giving into sleep.

In the middle of the Night, Philip was still awake, his eyes were darted on the ceiling, thinking about the brunette on the room next to him. Different thoughts clouded his mind.

He twisted and turn on his bed, trying to find his way to sleep but she was still occupying his mind. And when Philip couldn't take it anymore, he walked towards the brunette's room. The door creaked open and there he saw the brunette laying on the bed, fast asleep. 'She looked so peaceful, just like a princess.', he thought.

He walked towards the bed and tucked a few strands of hair that was blocking Jessica's face. He couldn't help but admire how beautiful her wife is.

"I'm sorry." He said and planted a soft kiss on her forehead before walking out and looked for the heaviest drink in her bar that'll make sure to put her to sleep.
