They made camp that night near Blackwater Fall, far enough from the water that the sound wasn't deafening but close enough that Autumn could still hear it in the distance… a low, constant rumble.

Korran had warmed up by the fire, his color returning to normal, though he still looked tired. Retrieving the stone had taken more out of him than he'd let on.

"You should rest," Autumn told him as she handed him a bowl of broth, it was warm.

"I'm fine."

"You're exhausted."

"I said I'm fine," he repeat

  • Prophecy Of The Lycan Queen   Chapter 175: The Exile

The Alpha's chambers were quiet except for the crackling of the fireplace.Damon stood at the window, staring out at the moonlit pack lands spread below like a responsibility he could never fully carry. His reflection in the glass showed a man who looked older than he had weeks ago...heavy shadows under his eyes, tension carved deep into the planes of his face, the weight of leadership aging him in real time.Callie approached from behind and wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing her cheek to his back. Her warmth and golden aura seeped into him, but even she couldn't fully ease the storm raging inside his chest."I keep seeing her as a little girl," Damon whispered, his voice breaking. "Following me everywhere. Begging me to teach her how to fight. Laughing when I let her win." He paused, swallowing hard. "And now I have to decide if I'm going to sign her death warrant."Callie tightened her hold, grounding him with her presence. "You don't have to decide alone."He turned in he

  • Prophecy Of The Lycan Queen   Chapter 174: You're Autumn

Autumn was breaking apart from the inside. The transformation pain was reaching its peak...waves of agony crashing through her body as her hybrid nature finally began to fully settle. Golden flames and shadows warred beneath her skin, each one trying to dominate the other. She was trembling, barely able to stand, tears streaming down her face.Max's expression softened with something dangerously close to tenderness. He tilted her chin up with careful fingers, forcing her to meet his silver-gray eyes."You're not tearing apart," he whispered, his ancient voice carrying absolute certainty. "You're becoming whole. Let me help you."He leaned down and kissed her...not the usual fierce, hate-filled kiss, but something slower, deeper, more intimate. It was a different kind of claiming. Autumn moaned into his mouth, the pain momentarily dulled by the contact. She kissed him back desperately, fingers tangling in his dark hair as if he was the only thing keeping her grounded, the only anchor i

  • Prophecy Of The Lycan Queen   Chapter 173: The Confrontation

News of the secret meeting spread like wildfire through Silvermoon by the next morning.By midday, the pack was fracturing.Whispers turned into open arguments in the streets. Warriors gathered in clusters, their voices rising in heated debate. Elders moved through the halls with grim expressions that spoke of betrayal. The word "weak" was being thrown around more and more...aimed directly at their new Alpha like a blade.Damon stood on the balcony overlooking the training grounds, watching as two groups of warriors nearly came to blows below. His jaw was locked so tight it ached, his shoulders rigid with the tension of restraint. Every muscle in his body wanted to transform, wanted to assert dominance, wanted to force them into submission.Callie stepped up beside him, slipping her hand into his without a word. Her presence alone grounded him, reminded him to think rather than react."They're scared," she said softly. "Fear makes wolves stupid."Before Damon could reply, the doors to

  • Prophecy Of The Lycan Queen   Chapter 172: Wise Choice

The Ruined Temple stood like a broken crown under the fading moonlight. It was neutral ground, far enough from pack territory to avoid immediate bloodshed, yet close enough for Damon to feel the weight of every decision pressing down on his shoulders like a physical force.Damon arrived first with Callie at his side and two trusted warriors flanking them, ready for violence. His body was tense, his claws half-extended, his golden eyes scanning the darkness with predatory precision. Every muscle was coiled tight, ready to explode into action at a moment's notice.Callie stayed close, her hand brushing his reassuringly. "Stay calm," she whispered. "We need answers more than blood."Then they appeared from the shadows like ghosts materializing.Autumn stepped out from behind a fallen pillar, her movements unnaturally graceful in a way that was both beautiful and deeply wrong. Her skin had a faint luminous quality that caught the dying moonlight. Her eyes held that haunting mix of gold an

  • Prophecy Of The Lycan Queen   Chapter 171: Burn Him

The moon hung high over Silvermoon, bathing the Alpha's chambers in silver light that made everything appear otherworldly.Callie stood barefoot on the balcony, wearing only one of Damon's oversized shirts. The cool night breeze brushed against her bare skin as she stared into the distance, toward the western border where the ruined temple waited like a dark promise.Damon stepped up behind her, wrapping his strong arms around her waist and pulling her back against his chest. He pressed a slow kiss to the side of her neck, his breath warm against her skin."You should be resting," he murmured, his voice rough with concern and lingering desire from their time in bed.Callie leaned into him, tilting her head to give him better access. "I can't sleep. Something's coming, Damon. I can feel it in my bones... like electricity beneath my skin."He turned her in his arms and kissed her deeply, slow and reassuring. Their bodies pressed together, the mate bond humming warmly between them, a con

  • Prophecy Of The Lycan Queen   Chapter 170: Perfect Little Wolf

The underground chamber felt smaller, hotter, more dangerous.Autumn paced restlessly, her hybrid body buzzing with restless energy that had nowhere to go. Training with Max had left her flushed, her blood singing with a mix of fire and ice. Every nerve ending felt alive, vibrating with tension that demanded release.Max leaned against the far wall, watching her with those piercing silver-gray eyes that tracked her every movement. His shirt was open at the collar, revealing pale, sculpted skin that seemed to glow in the torchlight. The sight irritated her as much as it pulled at her, a contradiction she couldn't resolve."What are you staring at?" she snapped, stopping abruptly in front of him."You're pacing like a caged animal," he replied smoothly, his voice carrying that infuriating calm. "And you smell like desire and rage. It's… distracting."Autumn's breath hitched. She hated how easily he could read her now. How her body betrayed her around him, every instinct responding to hi

Callie headed for the spring with her stomach in twits. She'd changed into her training clothes at elder Nicolas’ house.
