Vraxlon finally guided his eyes to me, with the lock of hair loosening from his ear and rubbing against his beard, and for a moment, he just watched me. He observed in a way that I was quite aware of the blood running through my veins, and how my breathing suddenly seemed irregular. So I noticed that, just like me, he also seemed to duel if he said something or just kept waiting.

He looked at the space behind me, with the same attention I had seen on his face before we got there, recognizing that obscure presence.

"What can you see so much on my back? "I wanted to know.

Vraxlon offered me a tender smile.

"Your protective spirit, your majesty.”
