Chapter 5

After Tommy sent the maid to patch up Jasmine yesterday, she was served her food in bed before taking a long nap as recovery for what's to come the next day.

_ _ _ _ _

The sun is currently peeking from the horizon as the place was still dark. Everyone was sound asleep except for the devil himself.

Tommy entered Jasmine's bedroom as quiet as a mouse, watching the teenager sleep peacefully as a smirk painted on his lips. "Jasmine!" He called out earning nothing but soft snores. "Jasmine, if you don't get up, right now, you'll face the consequences," he said, raising a half bucket of cold water as his smirk widened. "Tommy! Leave me alone," she mumbled, turning on her side before her body shot up due to the cold substance soaking through the clothes sticking against her skin.

"WHAT THE HELL, TOMMY!" She yelled as anger was clearly heard from her voice. "I told you to get up or you'll face the consequences," he simply said, annoying her even more. "You're f**king insane, Tommy," she said as Tommy's face hardened. "You want me to teach you, what is respect again, Jasmine?" Tommy asked as his voice deepened and his eyes darken.

Jasmine gulped slowly, pulling her legs up to her chest, not taking her eyes off Tommy, who glared dangerously at her. "I'm sorry, Tommy," she mumbled as Tommy's smirk returned, satisfied with her change of attitude. "Get ready, we're starting training right away," he said walking towards the door.

"What about breakfast?" She asked as he continued to walk towards the door before answering her question. "Never train on a full stomach, we eat and recover after," he said before exiting the room.

Jasmine sighed, before glancing at the alarm clock on the nightstand beside the bed.

(4:45 a.m) -_-

Running her hands over her face, Jasmine sighed again before dragging herself off the bed and towards the bathroom. As she entered the bathroom, Jasmine stood in front of the sink, staring at her reflection with so much pity.

"Look at you, Jasmine, so weak, so pathetic," she mumbled, glaring at herself before splashing some water upon her face.

"Can Tommy really help someone like her?" A question constantly roaming around in her head.

(MEANWHILE… TOMMY DOWNSTAIRS)

Tommy stood downstairs near the staircase waiting for Jasmine's arrival. Tommy was beginning to get impatient as he waited until he got a call. "Hello!" He answered as his voice came out cold. A female voice was heard over the phone as he smirked. "Yes, meet me at the usual spot, and don't worry, I'm bringing the girl," he said before ending the call.

"JASMINE! GET DOWN HERE!" Tommy yelled, getting more frustrated until he heard a sigh. There she was lazily walking down the stairs in black leggings that sat on her upper waist, a black crop top, and a black jacket. Her hair was in two cornrows and her facial expression showed frustration and tiredness.

"Are you ready?" He asked as Jasmine rolled her eyes, pissing Tommy off. "What did I tell you about rolling those eyes, huh?" He asked as his voice got deeper. "I'm sorry, okay, but can you blame me, you woke me up after in the morning, I'm hungry and my body still slightly hurts from yesterday," she said as they both exited the mansion, walking towards a car that was already up and running for them to leave.

"Get used to it because we'll be training every day from this day onwards," he said getting into the car followed by her. "Every day? Are you crazy, do you want to kill me?" She asked as he scoffed as they left the mansion, heading towards their destination. "I'm not trying to kill you, Jasmine, you exaggerate too much," he said as Jasmine gave him a 'really, then what are you trying to do' look as he chuckled.

"If you really want to know, then I'm trying to create a better and stronger version of you pathetic, weak self," he simply said as Jasmine's jaw dropped in shock earning a genuine laugh from Tommy. "What's wrong, cat got your tongue?" he teased as Jasmine angrily sunk down the seat.

"You really are heartless, you just simply said that as if it wouldn't hurt my feelings," she said staring out the window as Tommy glanced at her. "That's your problem, Jas, you feel too much, you take things to heart too easily," he said. "Whatever, Tommy, where are we going anyway?" She asked still having her gaze outside the window.

"We're going to my base, there's someone, I want you to meet," he said as Jasmine nods. The rest of the journey was fairly quiet as music played throughout the car.

"Why are you doing all this, Tommy?" Jasmine asked, finally turning towards Tommy's direction as he sighed. "Jas, what part of, I'm trying to-

"Yes! I got that part, but you're a heartless mafia, you could've left me that night but you chose to save me, why?" She asked as Tommy felt kind of offended hearing those words from Jasmine.

"You're right Jasmine, I'm a heartless monster and yes, I saved you that night, so you should be grateful that I did instead of asking stupid questions," he coldly said as his voice darken and his hands tightly grip the steering wheel. The car suddenly came to a stop as Tommy shut off the engine. "Tommy, I just ask a simple question, why are you getting so worked-

"Get out, we're here," he dryly said, exiting the car leaving Jasmine dumbfounded before she eventually exited the car as well. Tommy was way ahead of Jasmine as she tried to catch up. Jasmine had no idea why Tommy was so upset but then again, ever since she met Tommy, he was never happy.

Men guarded Tommy's base as they got closer. Once they saw their boss, they immediately greeted him but as soon as they saw Jasmine, their body tense up. "Don't worry, she's with me," Tommy said as the men got back in their places. Jasmine felt awkward and out of place, Tommy slightly looked over his shoulder to see if she was alright and by the look on her caramel, an oval face, she was indeed uncomfortable.

Soon a guy walked up to Tommy as they pulled each other into a friendly hug, Jasmine was surprised to see a genuine small smile painted on the mafia's lips as he embraced the guy. "What's up, Tom!" The guy greeted before his eyes shifted towards Jasmine as a smirk found his lips, Jasmine felt more uncomfortable.

"You were really serious about training this girl huh, Tom?" He asked, almost shocked that his friend is going out of his way to training a girl he just met. Tommy rolled his eyes at his friend before turning towards Jasmine, signaling her to come closer. "Jasmine, I'd like you to meet my right hand, Gray," he said as Jasmine blankly stared at Gray before nodding. "Nice to meet you, Gray," she mumbled, immediately avoiding his gaze as he chuckled. "She's shy, huh?" Gray asked as Tommy scoffed. "You should be grateful, she ain't talking her ass off, asking questions and shit," Tommy said, as he continued to walk with Jasmine and Gray behind him.

Jasmine glared at his back before mumbling. "Asshole!" which both he and Gray clearly heard which made Gray chuckle again. "Don't worry, you'll get used to him being an asshole sometimes," Gray whispered, earning a small smile from Jasmine. "Gray, if you don't want a death wish right now, I suggest you shut up," Tommy said as Jasmine unconsciously giggled, softening Tommy's heart just a little.

"Come on, Tom, I'm just trying to lighten up the mood and clearly it worked, by the way, Scar is looking for you," he said as Jasmine furrowed. "Who's Scar?" She asked. "That's the person, I want you to meet," Tommy said as Gray's eyes widened. "Wait, you want Scar to train her, Tommy, damn good luck, Jasmine," Gray said, patting Jasmine's shoulder.

"Shut up, Gray, nothing is wrong with Scar, don't you have a business to deal with?" Tommy asked as Gray raised his hands in surrender. "Alright, chill, by the way, it was nice meeting you, Jasmine," he said as Jasmine smiled towards him before he left.

"Tommy, I hope you didn't hire someone to murder me," Jasmine said, as they both entire a training room. "Girl, ain't nobody here to murder your pretty little self," a woman from across the room said as Tommy smiled moving towards her.

Jasmine stared at the two as they embraced each other before they turned towards her. "Jasmine, come here, I want to introduce you to someone," Tommy said as Jasmine moved towards him while wearing a blank expression. "Meet Scarlet, aka Scar, she will be your trainer, she'll be training you to fight," he said as Jasmine scanned her from top to bottom.

Scar was a beautiful, built woman, light in color, about 5 inches taller than Jasmine, with long black straight hair that was messily placed in a ponytail. She had big lips, flawless eyes, and a cute nose then there was the meaning behind her name Scar. On the right side of her neck was a scar that added to her look. Scar looked skillful and it immediately intimated Jasmine.

"I see, she's an observer, Tom," she said, not taking her eyes off Jasmine. "She is, now ladies, have fun, I'll come to pick you back up Jasmine," Tommy said, patting Scar's back before walking towards Jasmine. "Don't worry, Scar will teach you everything she knows," he said, patting her hair before leaving.

Scar just stood there staring at Jasmine before she decided to break the silence. "Alright, since we already got over the introduction stage, how about we start with the basics," she said as Jasmine tilted her head. "And what's that?" Jasmine asked following behind Scar. "Boxing, you gotta get that heart up and running," She said, tossing her a pair of boxing gloves.

After struggling a bit with boxing gloves, Jasmine finally stood in front of Scar, who stood in her stands. "Are you ready, kid?" She asked as a smirk found her lips. "Yes, I guess," Jasmine replied, earning a sigh from Scar. "I don't want to hear that, Jasmine, when you're fighting, there's no turning back, no hesitation," Scar said as Jasmine nods.

"Good, now fix your stands, hands up, I want you to look at me as if I was your worst enemy," she said getting back into her stands as Jasmine clenched her jaw, tightening her fist. "Now, Jasmine, are you ready?" She asked. "I'm ready!" Jasmine mumbled before Scar signaled her to go.

Hit! Hit! Hit!

Over and over is all that she heard. The sound of her boxing gloves hitting hard against Scar's pads.

Hit! Hit!

She dodged the swing coming at her from Scar, who smirked stepping closer.

"Come on, Jasmine, is that all you gotta?"

Hit!

"Harder Jasmine!"

Hit! Hit!

"Is that all you got, Jasmine, your punches are weak and pathetic," Scar said as the words she said finally sank into Jasmine's head.

Thinking back on how she felt when she lost the most important person in her life made her anger raised, thinking back on how she feared her bastard father every time he would lay a hand on her made her anger raised even more and thinking back on how she felt when she watched the building that held a lot of memories burn to the ground with the last person she considers family inside of it made her explode.

Hit! Hit! Hit! Hit!

"Yes, Jasmine, now we're talking,"

"Hit! Hit! Hit! Kick!

"Come on, Jasmine, no mercy!"

Hit! Kick! Hit! Hit!

"Good job, Jasmine," Scar congratulated as Jasmine stood there breathing heavily before wiping the sweat off her forehead. "Again!" Jasmine said as Scar smirked. "That's what I want to hear,"

"She's good, Tommy," Gray said as both he and Tommy watched as the teenager trained. "She reminds me of someone," Gray continued as Tommy turned to look at him. "I need you to go pick somebody up," Tommy said as Gray furrowed.

"Who?" He asked.

"Lucifer Dankworth!"

"I think it's time for me to meet the man who created Jasmine's demons."
