A wave of thankfulness flowed through Aakifahlynn for the thing she would need because she had used it many times.

She had never been more grateful that her goal was not to have children immediately.

Imagine bringing a child into this, witnessing their mother killed so brutally, or hearing the tales when they grew older. Plus, Aakifahlynn's ambitions did not provide for such a thing.
