chapter 5

Tessa wakes up early in the morning, feeling much better after a good dreamless sleep. She felt calmer than ever like she is where she always should have been. Still walking with difficulty as she still has to get rid of the cast but otherwise her body feels refreshed and healed.

She decided to visit the bakery again, feeling the need to endulge into the sweet decadent treats the have to offer.

After she freshened up she headed into town straight to her already favorite spot.

As she enteres the bakery she smiled at the friendly cashier and decided on a strawberries and cream pastry. She paid and walked outside walking to the park, but as she walk it constantly feels like soneone is watching her. She feels uncomfortable but theres no feeling of danger yet. It is like a constant presence following her but is nowhere to be seen. Trying to look around her without making it too obvious she saw the quick shadow again. Standing still for a few seconds and disappeared again. She turn as quickly as possible to try and follow but her movement with the cast is way too slow and left her standing in the middel of the park looking lost.

'I'm losing my mind' she thought.

'No one here knows me and no one knew I would choose this town.' Tessa convinced her self that it's only her mind playing tricks on her. The sudden loneliness makes her heart yearn for some company, but it is so difficult with the words of her father and mother to trust no one lingering in her head. How will she ever know who the person is they were talking about without the means of getting to know anybody that could possibly draw attention to herself and make her where abouts known to whatever danger they were talking about.

She huffed in frustration and anger build up in her. A little bit more information would help but No! Leaving a cryptic letter is so much better.

She takes an angry bite out of the pastry, and the burst of flavour calms her immediately as she chews slowly taking in the freshness of the strawberries and the mix of cream is just right.

'I will have to get this cast off, I will need to exercise with al this treats I'm eating' she thought to her self with a chuckle.

Then suddenly she is startled with a soft deep voice.

"You should smile more. It suits you better that the scowl you always seem to have." Tessa look up and see a tall handsome man smiling down at her.

'He is breathtaking' she thought. His black hair a bit messy like he ran his hand through it a few times. Strong and slick facing features. Oh and that smile is heart melting. He surely do workout alot.

"wow.." she whispered. She look away suddenly felling how her face turns red

'Really Tessa? When will you learn to keep your mouth shut?' she scolds herself.

She sees in the corner of her eye how he moves closer and sitting down next to her holding his hand out.

"Landon..." he says with a smile seeing her hesitate.

"Don't worry I will never hurt you" he says and she takes his hand.

"Tessa..." she says but the sudden electric jolt on her skin startles her and then she smells it. The same musky scent from the night of the accident.

She turns pale and let the remainder of the pastry fall to the ground.

"Tessa? Are you alright? It looks like you have seen a ghost?" Landon said concerned about her change of demeanor.

Without a word Tessa stood up and left as fast as she could. Haunted by memories and the not knowing if it's him she should run away or run to.

Too scared to find out, so it is better to leave now. She will analyze shis when she is alone.

As she walks away she feels a sharp pain in her head and a shiver down her spine. Making the fear she is feeling more prominent. She try to walk faster, feeling just a faint pain in her leg but she ignore it. The need to get to her room comes first.

The walk to her room was a blur as she feels like she is starting to get a fever. Before she knoe she is in her room, she get into the shower running cold water of her body. Trying to wash away this sudden fog in her head and fever not worrying about the cast on her leg. Knowing she will have to find a dr to recast it, that is a worry for later she thought

After 10 min she feels the fever subside and she is shivering. Getting herself dry and into warm fluffy pajamas she falls into a very deep sleep as soon as she laid her head down.
