STEFAN’S POV

I was exiled and the only place I could go to was the human world to stay hidden from the supernatural world. I, King Stefan, who was once revered was now exiled from my kingdoms. I entered the portal, with determination to start a new life.

A few years later…

“Boss, your schedule for today is a bit hectic. You have a meeting with Mr. Greenfield, Mrs. Walter and you have a golf date with Miss Jenny.” My secretary informed me as he held the document.

“Cancel them all.” I instructed, without looking up at him.

“S…sir? There is still more.” He said as he bent his head to me.

“I said, cancel them all!” I slammed my fist on the table which made a few breakable things on my table to roll of the table and break.

“o…okay sir.” He stuttered and left my office.

Since I lost Jana, I had become a cold-hearted freak and was used to being alone. I detested having meetings with any of them as we were bound from interacting with humans to the extent of them finding out who we really are. But at some point, I had to interact with them, and that’s when I send my secretary to meet with them.

I wasn’t in any mood to hear about my schedule, so I decided to cancel it all. Jana was still on my mind and every day, I was depressed. Then I called my secretary back to the office.

“Have you gotten new lists of those whose names are Jana?” I asked as I leaned my chin on my knuckles, keeping a straight face as I looked at him.

“Yes. I have a list of their address as well.” He handed it over to me respectfully.

I looked at the list and told him to leave. A few minutes after he left, I went to those address and watched each of them as they went out of the house or go in at different times. Searching for Jana wasn’t easy and I was beginning to think that the witches didn’t help me. I didn’t want to keep asking my secretary to do this as I didn’t want to start raising suspicion unnecessarily.

The next day, I was just coming back from trying out my luck on searching for Jana when I bumped into Miss Jenny.

“Mr. Stefan. It’s nice, running into you. I guess it is my lucky day that I met you.” She said, with a smile on her face.

“Good day, Miss Jenny.” I said, sternly.

“How about we have coffee over a discussion?” She proffered, pointing to the coffee shop that wasn’t far from where we were.

“I won’t be available for that. I have some things to attend to at the office.” I said, then left without waiting for a reply.

As I went back to my car, I could see a few women taking pictures of me. I was quite popular and the dream of every woman, but none of those were my concern. I had spent years looking for my long-lost love and it seemed to me that she never came back. It was hard to keep looking for her as every day’s disappointment, took a toll on me and the way I reacted to people, especially my secretary who has always been the victim of my aggression transfer.

While driving back to the office, my eyes caught sight of someone who looked just like Jana in front of a coffee shop, and on a phone call.

I quickly drove backwards a bit to be certain and it truly was Jana. The excitement that filled my heart because I had finally found who I had been looking for, made me walk out of my car and head towards her as fast as I could. I got to her and hugged her tight.

“Where have you been all along?” I asked as I hugged her tight.

All of a sudden, she pulled herself from me and gave me a hot slap that got me shocked.

“Who the heck are you to hug me just like that?” She shouted, with her eyes looking sharp as if she could shoot lasers from it.

“It’s me Jana. Stefan.” I said, still confused about what was going on.

“Who the heck is Jana? And who are you? How dare you touch me just like that! If you ever try that again, I’ll call the cops on you.” She lashed out on me and walked out on me as well, with her hair swinging from left to right as she walked fast.

I went back to my house, thinking of what had happened between Jana and I, earlier. She didn’t seem to look at me like she knew me and she was outrightly rude. She made me start doubting if she was truly Jana, but the mate bond I felt with her made me believe it was her.

“She is certainly Jana. Jana had re-incarnated.”

The next day, I woke up with Jana on my mind. I needed to get her address and information about who she was. I got to my office and my secretary came in.

“Good morning sir. Here are the list of the people who applied for different position into our company and here is their file.” He handed over the documents to me.

I loved checking the files of the applicants, because of a few reasons and the main reason was because I hoped to see Jana’s picture on it. Now that I had seen Jana, I didn’t need it, but I was used to it already.

I picked up the papers and to my shock, Jana was among those that applied for a position in the company and she was under the name, Melissa Lane.

“Where is she right now?” I asked, impatiently.

“She is in the interview room along with the others, sir.” He replied, quickly.

Then I went over to the interview room and my secretary followed me, but I didn’t enter. I only watched her from the door. She looked as gorgeous as she used to be and she sat calmly, I could hear her fast heartbeat. She must be feeling tensed, because of the interview.

“Hire her.” I said to my secretary.
