“He agreed to it, just like that,” I said to Keala and Elara, and they were just as surprised as I was.

“Did you say anything, other than when you spoke about leaving?” Elara asked with a calculating look.

I shook my head, “No. But Uria, Tamara, Baski, and Benedict supported and chose to leave with me.”

“Oh.” Kaela and Elara exclaimed at the same time.

“What is it?” I asked, my curiosity eating me up.

Kaela sighed,” Princess, you literally divided the council. That hasn't happened in the last ten years. Alpha Sage must have gotten scared, that's why he gave in to your request.” Kaela explained.

Everything Elara said to me that day came rushing in. I thought she was just saying that to make me feel better, but she was clearly right. Sage cannot stand the council dividing, he's that scared of the war returning.

“I didn't realize…”

“It's okay Princess.” Elara butt in, “You got what you wanted. So what next?”

I managed a smile, “I best prepare for my coronation.”
