Chapter 10Evangelyn’s living room was the first sign that someone had gotten to the house before them. It was in disarray with pillows strewn about, the contents of the cabinets littered on the floor, and some of the sofas ripped open. Tears filled Elena’s eyes as she stepped in. CHAPTER 11Marcel! Marcel!” Elena called out in terror as she hurriedly looked around the kitchen and the living room, but Marcel wasn’t there. Fear overtook Elena’s mind as the sounds of the police coming out of their cars and conversing amongst themselves hit her. “He probably went out to confirm if there was any problem,” Elena muttered to herself in panic as she tried to make sense of the present situation. Elena’s adrenaline rose, she panted and paced about the base of the staircase in utter confusion and fear. She knew the news was fake, but only two other people knew the truth. Her dead sister Evangelyn, who was no longer in the picture, and Marcel, who was surprisingly nowhere to be found. “Marcel!” She yelled out for the last time, hoping that he had gone up the stairs and would hear the sound of her voice, but her call was met with silence, and in a split second decision, she decided to save herself first. Chapter 15Elena spent the next few days resting and planning as much as possible to make her plan foolproof.With the money she had taken from David, she paid for her cab and a few nights at the motel.The moment she got there, she rested for a bit, then searched his wallet for money she could use to buy some stuff.There was no loose change in his wallet, but she found two of his credit cards, which she used in the store.She bought a box of hair dye, new clothes, painkillers, scissors, and some new shades.Elena had been reluctant to use the credit cards to prevent David from tracing the transaction, but the cash she had found on David was low, so all she could do was hope he didn’t notice his missing wallet.“Thank you,” Elena said kindly to the room service lady who had delivered her breakfast.Over the last few days, she had made sure to leave her room as little as possible. Chapter 17Marcel huffed in exhaustion as he turned around trying to find Elena.The girl just refused to disappear. Chapter 18Elena gasped in shock as her body launched off the edge of the cliff and began to roll down the mountain.Tears streamed from her eyes and her screams intensified as she rolled down the mountain.With her eyes shut and her skin burning, her secrets intensified. Chapter 19Marco’sPOVI jolted awake on the metal reception chair and flitted my eyes to the neon sign above the operating theatre that indicated where Vvissuta had been undergoing surgery for the last ten hours.That was what I had decided to call the unknown woman Sopravvisuta.
