Kai

The lights above me were bright and blinding.

I squinted, put my hand over my eyes and moved to sit up, but the pain and tightness I felt over my chest and the restraining hand that touched my shoulder made me lie back and look about with caution.

There were people in the room.

A Pack Doctor, and the nurses, one of whom had the restraining hand on my shoulder while whispering that I was fine and some man who looked important and highly distinguished given how he dressed.

And Talia, the only

Talia "I want to know what happened," Kevin Grant continued anyway. "You heard the Doctor, Sir. Aurelia needs to rest-""No. I want to speak," Aurelia said, her voice still croaky. "I think I can manage-"He turned his face towards her, and their eyes met and then held each other in such heartfelt pools of love in an intense moment that lasted so long and carried so much that words could not say, nor could touch express, nor could kisses utter, that I knew that there was only the both of them, and no one else between, and no thing in all the world that could break the bond of love they had formed between themselves.I saw it, and I felt it, and I shed a tear for them. But most especially for the one who I had watched tear and break herself down for another, because she now had everything one could ever want for love here with her, and no memories of all the pain.Another tear cascaded down my cheek for the one who saw her, loved her, took her, fixed her, and made her belong to him.

Talia"It's not a feeling. We have the mate bond between us."Hearing this from Kai felt like betrayal to me. I had known that they liked each other, but the mate bond happened so fast that I was surprised by it and annoyed that they would keep it from me, who rooted for them and had given so much for them.Apart from that, Kevin Grant was focused on getting to Kai. Someone long ago had given me a peek into what Pack Investigations felt like, but seeing it was intense. I had been told that they would draw your mind in every direction until you were not sure of everything that had not happened, of every lie there was, and the truth came spilling out unexpectedly, and watching it being done to Kai was gruelling. That had been until Kai pulled the chain that confined him to the bed.He did it with so much force that the bits flew about, darting all over so that I had to duck to avoid being injured. When the rain of metal was over, there was only Kevin Grant and Kai standing and locking

Seeing them got me agitated, and I went against the nurse and refused to lie down. Apart from the pain, I felt no weakness or absurdity, so I was certainly thinking of taking on one or two of them if I needed to."What is going on?" I asked, sitting up just as I noticed the chain binding one of my hands to the hospital bed. "Where am I?""In a safe place, boy," the important looking man said, stepping forward. "I'm Kevin Grant, a representative of the Duskmere Pack."I eyed him su

  • REJECTED AND REBORN; THE HOCKEY ALPHA'S REGRET    ON THE EDGE

TaliaI had every reason to be worried.I paced about and bit down on my nails and even outright screamed at some point to the point of having my lungs burst, but all my antics were lost amongst the crowd of students that were flocking about the edge of the Water of Fears and asking all the questions to be asked. The resulting uproar was thunderous and deafening, and I was lost in the midst of it all while being unable to even do a thing."You can't go in after him," Coach Vance was saying to some of the security who were offering to go in after Kai and get him out, his loud voice somehow booming over all the noise despite the bandage on his head after Kai had butted him with his head. "That is a Water of Fears and anyone who goes into it will first experience an intimate confrontation with the worst of their fears before anything else. The students were speaking, too. Many of them heard him bicker with the coach over Aurelia being in some kind of distress, and they had heard the coac

Kai. Once again, Aurelia's scream echoed inside my head. It made me fall backwards and then jump back up quickly, my chest tightening as I managed to get a hold on myself once again. As soon as I got my head back in one place, though, I knew that it was not her corpse that had screamed, not this here body that lay cold and still. I somehow managed to go close to it so I could touch it again, but before I could, I heard the scream in my head again. It was Aurelia's voice. And it was still not from the dead body. I stood confused, and then whispered her name before something clicked in my head, a jolt of memory that changed everything as it was. I was in the Water of Fears. Obviously, I was going to encounter my biggest fear first, which as it turned out, was losing Aurelia. Somehow, I had managed to keep my sanity and not lose my mind to it, which meant that I had passed the test. As though it was an answer to my thoughts, too, the illusion of a dead Aurelia faded away into

Kai. Her long and drawn scream hit my ears like dynamite. I shook, now certain that something was going wrong inside the Water of Fears. Since she had gotten into it, I had expected that she would send me some sort of communication over our bond-any one at all. "There's something wrong in there, Talia," I said, even though I was somewhat uncertain. "What is that?" She asked. "Aurelia." "Why do you think so?" "I can feel it." She looked at me, her expression just as confused. "Of course she has to feel a little bit of something... negative... I mean... she's literally in the Water of Fears and experiencing whatever her worst fears are. Don't overthink it, Kai. She should be fine when it's all over." I tried to relax and pretend that it was sufficient when I heard her voice beg. "Please don't kill me. I am not an abomination." I was taken aback. There had to be no way Aurelia was afraid of something like being an abomination-that did not even make sense in the least. I had

Aurelia I shifted back to my human form and spat out a mouthful of loose dirt."You're kidding," I yelled, getting back to my feet."Does it sound funny?""You could have maybe mentioned that before you planted your giant paws on my ribs," I muttered, spitting some more after chewing sand.Kai mer

Talia's POV The first sign that made me certain that Aurelia would live was her healing scar, and I broke down in tears and cried when I saw it happen. The Alpha had called me over to see it. The wound was closing slowly given our natural healing powers, but it was closing, with the pink flesh

Aurelia's POV Six months later~The heavy iron gates of Blackridge Academy groaned as they swung open, letting in a freezing wind from the northern mountains.I stepped out of the black transport car, the gravel crunching beneath the souls of my leather boots. I didn't look at the students who imm
