ELARA'S POV

The silence in the hall was so thick, you could almost feel it on your skin.

One of the elders leaned forward, he was the oldest of the three, his hair, as pale as ash, fell over his shoulders and down the back of his robe. The deep lines on his face made him look strict, but his eyes held no anger.

Only coldness.

The Elder studied me for a long moment, like a puzzle.

Then he said,

"The Alpha claims the bond has been disturbed".

Murmurs started all over the hall.

"Silence" he said,

THIRD PERSON POV.After Lioren and Alicent realized the gravity of the situation, they started plotting on how to turn the tides without sparking Elara's fury or risking Beros finding out more information from Elara.Over the next few days, they worked together secretly with the help of Solas. They placed spies around Elara's room to monitor how frequent her healing sessions were with Beros, Elara had refused seeing anyone and advancing the battle plans, it seemed as though she were under a trance, all her attention and essence was being used on Beros, and he was like an abyss, continually sucking it up.Alicent and Lioren had several meetings to plan the plan further, it was on one of such meetings that they discovered new things. They both sat at the table, looking over the recent events of the fae kingdom when Lioren spoke up."A letter came in for you" she said."For me?" Alicent looked shocked. Who would send her a letter? She took the letter from Lioren's hand. It was a sealed l

Lioren turned to face the maid slowly."What did you say?" she asked again as she looked at the maid who had just spoken. The maid hesitated for a bit before she replied "The moon deity says she won't be able to attend today's meeting"."And why is that?" ELARA'S POVA few days later.Beros had been asleep since he came back, only waking up at intervals. I wondered what could be running through his mind, I wanted to see what he had been through, see what he had survived, but anytime I came close to him, he would wake up.His aura didn't feel the same and when I searched inside my core, the longing was still there, why did I still feel a longing for him when he was right here with me? Or was I finding it hard to believe that he was here and safe with me."Is everything alright?" his voice jolted me out of my thoughts. He sat up in bed slowly "you had that look in your eye, what were you thinking about?" he asked.I surveyed him carefully as he looked into my eyes "what's wrong?" his brow furrowed."What happened to you?" I asked "you have refused to tell me anything for days now, you keep on avoiding the question".He took in a deep breath, the same one he took whenever I brought up the issue."It hurts me to try to remember" he said, t

  • REJECTED BY THE ALPHA, CHOSEN BY THE MOON   Something is wrong

ELARA'S POVI heard the word leave her mouth as she stared straight through me, to something behind me. I slowly followed her line of sight and there he was. Beros. Why? How?"Beros" I breathed out, leaving my chair to topple over as I ran into his arms."Beros" I said again as I jumped into the warm...no...cold embrace of him. "My love" he said, as he wrapped his arms tighter around me."Are you truly back? What happened?" I asked. "Where were you?""I missed you my love, I thought, I thought I would never see you" I heard him say."What...what happened?" I pulled back from the hug to peer at his face, he appeared unscathed, refreshed even."I was trapped"."How?" It was Lioren."She searched everywhere for you, what happened?" It was Alicent this time. I felt him release from the hug as he grabbed his head in his arms."I can't remember everything" his eyes closed, and when he opened them, the silver was there, but it was not as vibrant as before."Your eyes" I whispered as I reach

  • REJECTED BY THE ALPHA, CHOSEN BY THE MOON   When hope returned

ELARA'S POVI awoke with a gasp. "Beros" the words came out of my mouth in a whisper. I saw him again. I could feel him, his anguish, he was in pain. I felt the warm tears roll down my cheeks before I could even register that I had been crying, before I could even register that it was morning. Beros. I needed to save him.I had barely gotten my thoughts together when the doors to my room burst open and in walked an array of maids who appeared stunned at me sitting up in bed."Your highness", you're... you're awake" the head maid stuttered before bowing her head to me. I saw her gesture to one of the other maids who in turn hurried out of the room."We were sent here to prepare you" the head maid said again as she gave instructions to the other maids who carried them out efficiently. I paid them no heed as they worked through bathing me, clothing me and brushing my hair out.I couldn't help but wonder what kind of pain Beros was in that would keep him away from me. Nothing could keep

  • REJECTED BY THE ALPHA, CHOSEN BY THE MOON   The moon's wrath

ELARA'S POVIt was a flurry of robes and the clinking of steel against steel as we all made our way to the third gate. Due to the preparations put in place, this was no surprise attack, we were ready for it. I was.As the soldiers hurried towards the third gate led by Alicent and Greyson. Lioren and I finally made use of our powers and got there in the blink of an eye to be greeted with a ghastly sight.Fae blood was splattered everywhere, bodies hanging from the mouth of grotesque shadowlike hounds as they wreaked havoc. The fae were no match for these shadowlike creatures, but the wolves were.In no time, the wolves shifted at Alicent's command and ran straight into the hounds, now it was a fair fight, animal versus animal. I didn't even need to help because the wolves were doing a good job at keeping the hounds at bay from invading the third gate, though a few wolves fell, a lot of them remained standing and fighting.I didn't have need to join the fae, but I did, and it took every
