ELARA’S POV.I turned to look at Beros, panic flashing in my eyes. “You went to the abyss?” Before Beros could answer me, Nyxar spoke again“Yes he did, dear Elara” his tone mocking. I didn't have any recollection of what happened during my absence, I just assumed I had ceased to exist and Nyxar was here claiming to know something I didn't.I shifted uneasily as I stared at him, waiting for him to say what he knew so he could be out of here, it was obvious he didn't come here for a fight, not yet. ELARA’S POVI stepped back and felt Beros’ arm grab me, stopping me from moving further back. I turned to look at him but his eyes were trained on the figure in front of us. It was Nyxar, in the flesh. He had finally decided to reveal himself after everything.But it was too early, too soon, we weren't prepared, nothing was ready, how had he come so soon?…. I realized I was beginning to spiral so I willed myself to calm down, overthinking wouldn't solve anything. ELARA’S POVI felt the shattering of the wards in my mind before they shattered all around us. It was as if a dome shaped invisible barrier was hit by something strong and it began to collapse.I looked around and saw shards of ice – like magic falling from the sky, but dissolving before it could reach the ground. It was the ward shattering.But how could they do that? I could perceive black magic, but who could do that here? Was it Nyxar? He shouldn't have been able to access the wards, it was impossible.The moon slowly began to dim as its job was done. I didn’t know if this was excitement from the anticipation of performing a ritual that hadn’t been performed in an impossibly long time or a feeling that something might go wrong.
