Aurora's POV.

"Lucious?" My lips trembled as I struggled to call his name, and I forcefully opened the door, driven by the urgency to reach him.

Having taken the keys from Claire without permission, I knew waiting until morning was not an option. Time was of the essence, and I couldn't bear the thought of losing him.

Inside the room, the scene was horrifying. Lucious lay unconscious in a pool of his own blood, a sight that should have disgusted me, but strangely, it only intensified my desire to help him.

Without a moment's hesitation, I rushed to his side and gently lifted him, cradling his head in my lap.

Tears streamed down my face, a mix of fear, love, and concern for the man I couldn't deny my feelings for at this moment.

In that instant, all the walls I had built around my heart knowing I was forced to marry him came crashing down, and I knew that my feelings for Lucious was beyond anything I had ever experienced.
