The Choice I Am Forced to Make

Lyra’s

“You belong to my bloodline too.”

The words hit me like a slap, and for one second, I couldn't move, I couldn't think, and I couldn't even breathe right.

My wolf went still inside me, not scared, not fighting but listening and that scared me more than anything.

Kael was the first to react.

“You filthy liar!”

He lunged, so did Darius and this time, the warriors moved too.

Boots pounded against the dirt, steel flashed and growls rose.

The whole clearing turn

The Woman Who Wants My PlaceLyra’s POV“Take your hands off my mate.”Kael’s voice cut through the yard like a blade and then I turned fast.He was standing near the gate, chest rising hard, eyes locked on Darius.Darius did not even look at him first, he looked at me and then he said, calm and dangerous, “You should go inside.”I blinked.“What?”“This will become ugly.”Kael let out a short laugh.“Become?”I groaned and dragged a hand over my face.“Can one morning pass without the two of you trying to destroy each other?”Neither answered and of course, Darius stepped away from me at last, not because Kael told him to because he chose to.That mattered more than I wanted it to and Kael noticed too and his jaw tightened and then his gaze dropped to the broken training post behind Darius, to me and then back to Darius.“You are pushing her too hard.”Darius folded his arms.“And you would know all about damaging her.”The words landed hard and Kael’s face changed and my stomach twi

The Training That Feels Too IntimateLyra’s POV“Then maybe she was never meant to remain yours.”The room went silent after Darius said it but Kael did not move.He just stood there, blood at the corner of his mouth, chest rising hard, eyes locked on Darius like he was one second away from tearing his throat out.I then pushed myself up slowly from the floor and my legs still felt weak. The broken room around us looked like my own mind, cracked, shaken and too loud.“Get out,” Darius says.Kael did not even blink.“You do not give me orders.”“In my pack, I do.”Kael then took one step forward and Darius took one too and I closed my eyes.“Stop.”My voice came out low, but both of them heard it.I opened my eyes and looked at Kael first.“Please.”That one word changed something in his face and he stepped back but still.“I am not leaving Black Hollow,” he said, his eyes still on Darius. “Not while she is being hunted.”Darius folded his arms.“I did not ask you to leave the pack.”K

The Fire Between Two AlphasLyra’s POVDarius’s hand was still on my face and Kael was standing at the door and for one painful second, nobody breathed. My pulse slammed hard inside my chest and Darius did not move away.Kael did not look at him first and he looked at me and that was worse. His eyes dropped to Darius’s hand again, and something dark passed over his face.“Take your hand off her.”His voice was low and dangerous and Darius turned slowly.“No.”My stomach dropped.“Darius,” I whispered but he was already stepping in front of me, like a wall, like a challenge.Kael entered fully and shut the door behind him with one hard push and the sound made me flinch. His gaze cut to Darius.“You touch her again,” Kael said, “and I will break your arm.”Darius then gave a short laugh, but there was no humour in it.“You are in my pack, in my wing, in front of my room, you do not get to threaten me here.”Kael then took another step.“I will threaten you anywhere.”“Oh, I know,” Dariu

The Man Who Refuses to LeaveLyra’s POVI did not sleep. How can I?A girl was dead because of me and her blood pressure was still in my head. Her last words kept coming back. She was not the target.I sat on the edge of the bed in the room beside Darius’s chambers, still wearing the dark house clothes one of the servants left for me after they cleaned the hall. My dress from earlier was gone, burned, maybe or hidden away with the blood.Either way, I did not want to see it again.Outside my door, guards moved all night, boots, low voices, steel but one trusted the dark now and neither did I.A knock then sounded just before dawn and my body went tight at once.“Who is it?” I asked.“It is me.”Darius.I stood and opened the door and he looked worse than he did hours ago, shirt half-buttoned, jaw rough with stubble, and eyes tired and sharp at the same time.He looked past me first, always checking, always searching and his eyes returned to mine.“You did not sleep.”“Neither did you

The Blood on His FloorLyra’s POVThe scream cut through me like a blade and Darius moved first. One second he was in front of me, the next he was already running down the hallway but I ran after him with my heart ringing so hard that it hurt.Doors flew open on both sides of the corridor and guards rushed out and a maid gasped and pressed herself against the wall and someone shouted for the Alpha. The sound came from the far end of the private wing and Darius reached it first and then stopped so suddenly I almost crashed into his back and when I looked past him, my whole body went still. There was blood on the floor, there was much blood and a young woman lay near the wall, twisted on her side, one hand pressed weakly to her stomach. Her dress was soaked red and blood kept slipping through her fingers and spreading across the stone. My breath caught, it was the same maid from earlier, the one who brought me food, the one who whispered:“Do not trust smiling women here.”“No,” I whis

The Room Next to the AlphaLyra’s POVI stared at the words on the wall until my breathing turned ragged.LEAVE BEFORE HE CLAIMS YOU TOO.My fingers shook around the edge of the table. This was not a joke, this was not pack gossip, someone came into my room, someone stood right here while I was downstairs, or riding in, or washing blood from my skin.Someone was close enough to touch my things, to wait for me, to warn me or threaten me.I then spun toward the door and yanked it open so hard it slammed against the wall and then a guard stood at the end of the hallway, startled.“Alpha!” I shouted and my voice tore through the corridor and footsteps hit the floor almost at once.Darius then appeared from the far side of the hall, already moving fast, one hand on the blade at his side, and two warriors rushed behind him.His eyes landed on my face first and he saw the fear I could not hide.“What happened?” he asked and I pointed into the room. “Someone was in here.”His whole body chang
