KYLIE'S POV

"Ah! My head hurts" I winced and rolled to the other side of the fluffy mattress

"Oh! You're awake, thank the moon goddess" A masculine voice exclaimed and I was forced to shoot my eyes wide open

Suddenly, the memories of...was it yesterday? Came flushing back

I died, I fucking died....Wait! But if I died, then how am I here?

I pinched my arm to be sure and it hurt, I couldn't believe it, I stretched my arms out and began staring at the back of my palms like it had some sort of amusement in it. I wiggled my fingers to make sure. Or could this be the land of the dead? It didn't look like it though

Those were my thoughts, before I finally looked up at the person who spoke

"Um...you?...."

"Yes, me — he responded with a small smile, then continued — I'm Freddy, we've met before. Not in my preferred circumstance, but it's all good. And, we have the same agenda" he said and I creased my brows

"Wait! Wait! Wait! You're alive? You're a living flesh and blood?" I asked anticipating the next response

"No I'm not, we both died, Karl, he caught up with me too. I couldn't escape it, we both are dead" he responded and my heart sank

I don't know why I somehow hoped I wasn't really dead, I hoped for some sort of miracles. Maybe it was because I wanted to see my baby again or the sting of defeat that had been hitting me

Freddy, he was the same guy that tried to save me from the hands of Karl on that day

He was Freddy....wait! Oh my goodness! I'm so confused right now

"I thought Karl killed you? How did you appear and tried to save me from him? And now again…how? How did all that happen?“ I asked, seemingly very confused. Karl had mentioned that he killed Freddy.

“It could be that Karl was mistaken or maybe they're two different people” A little voice in my head said and that made a lot more sense. But then again, Karl wasn't one to make mistakes, especially when it came to terminating anything he feels to be a threat

If they're two different people, which I highly doubt, due to the fact that he said we had the same agenda, then…

"Don't think too much about it, I was only messing with you, I had a sorceress bring you back to life" he responded with a flat expression

“Oh!“ Was the only word I could form then. I started to feel different mixes of a lot of emotions

Was I happy? Was I sad? Was I angry? I couldn't tell

“My son, Is he okay? Did Karl hurt him?“ I asked anxiously

“Hey! take it easy, you didn't miss much, as a matter of fact, you didn't miss a thing. As soon as you passed away, the sorceress informed me and I asked her to bring your body to my possession through teleportation. It was difficult and almost seemed impossible, but she was able to pull through” He explained

“Ryan is still in his possession, but he isn't hurt” he added and I sighed in great relief

“So..why?“ I asked

“Why what?“ He asked with creased brows

“Why did you bring me back? What do you want from me?“ I questioned suspiciously

“Oh! That! Yes, um…well, like I said earlier, we have the same agenda” he responded

“Which is?“ I didn't follow. What agenda was he even talking about

“Making Karl pay for all the wrong he has done to us” he said and I shook my head

“No, we do not have the same agenda, I do not want to make him pay for anything, I just want my son to be in my arms again, nothing more” I responded. He stared at me for a few moment as though I was some kind of puzzle he was trying to figure out

“Well, we can work together and achieve each our goals” he finally spoke, breaking the silence

“You'll help me get my son back?“ I asked, eyes glimmering with hope.

“Yes,” he answered curtly. Instinctively, I wrapped my arms around his neck, and pulled him into a tight embrace and said

“Thank you so much”

“Oh! I'm sorry, I was too..um..well” I began to stutter when I realized our rather compromising situation

“It's no problem” he said and I nodded, my cheeks red in embarrassment

“Where are we? Will Karl be able to find us?“ I asked, trying to change the feeling of awkwardness hanging in the air

“We are back in the human society, no one can find you here, Sasha has placed a cloaking spell” he explained and I could only nod

“I'll give you some space, if you need anything, just call me, I'll be outside” he said, pointing at the telephone on the bedside table and I nodded

Only when he left did I notice the furniture and interior of the bedroom. It screamed luxury and I'm not surprised, he was the right hand man to Karl Withlock. As a matter of fact, if it didn't, I would've had to ask questions.

“Where is she?“ A voice, followed by heavy footsteps echoed towards the direction of my room, forcing me to get up from my sleep. It was only normal that when you're resurrected from death, your whole body becomes weak and fragile, which explained why I slept off rather than beginning to plot ways to get Ryan back into my possession

There was a loud knock on my door and without waiting for any response, he barged in, eyes filled with fury and rage

“How dare you?“ He growled, sending cold shivers down my spine. I had never in the entire years of existence known what it felt like, being angered at, by Arnold

To make the matter worse, I didn't even know what I had done

“How dare me what?“ I asked, he didn't dignify that with a response and in a blink of an eye he lunged forward and grabbed me by the throat while staring daggers at me
