CAMILE

I have never been in a private jet before. Kael and Arlo’s was my first ever, and it seemed so surreal.

The jet looked too expensive and sleek. Champagne glasses never ran dry, the food was top-notch, and everything was seamless.

But it didn’t diminish my fear of flying.

I tried not to show how tight my grip was on the armrest, but once we lifted off the ground, my stomach dropped so hard I knew I failed miserably.

Kael noticed immediately, his gaze flicking from my white-knuckled grip to my face.

“You afraid of flying.” He noted, putting down the iPad he was holding.

“I’m fine,” I lied. “It’ll get better in a minute.”

But then, the plane went through mild turbulence, and my heart was immediately in my mouth, a scared whimper escaping my lips. I couldn’t hide my fear anymore.

“You will not have a smooth flight if you are scared,” Arlo snorted from across me. “There is not much we can do, but we can try to distract you,” he smirked.

The undertone in his voice was not misse

  • RISE OF THE SCORNED LUNA   20: An Innocent Breakfast

CAMILE By the next morning, I could barely feel my legs. Not in a bad way. In a used, loose, pleasantly heavy way that made even turning over feel like effort. My body ached, but my mind felt lighter than it had in weeks. Maybe months. It was definitely not a bad idea to come to Italy with these men.I woke up tangled in soft sheets that smelled faintly of Kael and Arlo, sunlight spilling lazily through sheer curtains. There was a cup on the nightstand beside me, the scent of Italian espresso filling the roomFor the first time in forever, I actually wanted to get out of bed.A note leaned against the cup, scrawled in Kael's neat handwriting.Get Ready. We're taking you out. Dress is waiting. KXA My eyes flicked to the foot of the bed, where a sleek black box waited, red ribbon-tied. I sat up, wincing at the pull in my thighs, and untied it. Inside the box was a simple sundress in soft ivory linen, light and flowy, perfect for the Italian heat. Tucked beneath it was a pair of lace

  • RISE OF THE SCORNED LUNA   19: While the whole city watches

CAMILE The ride back to the hotel was absolutely torture. Maybe because all three of us were so fucking turned on. As soon as we stumbled into the suite as a unit, the door clicking shut behind us, Arlo grabbed my waist and spun me toward the floor-to-ceiling window that dominated one wall, the city visible, pinning me there.“Arlo—” I gasped out in slight shock. His mouth crashed down on mine before I could continue my words, lips demanding, tongue thrusting deep. He kissed me like he was starving, no pauses, no mercy, devouring every gasp I tried to take. I melted into it, my hands fisting in his shirt as I kissed him back, moaning into his mouth, the sound vibrating between us. My pussy clenched, already slick from earlier, craving more.He broke just long enough to growl against my lips."I've been dying to do this all fucking day." Then he was back, sucking on my tongue, biting my lower lip until I whimpered, his hips grinding forward to press his erection against my stomac

  • RISE OF THE SCORNED LUNA   18: Fingered on the Gondola Ride

CAMILE Italy was an absolute dream. It had the most beautiful scenery I didn’t know I needed to see.Everything felt unreal, from the suite with its expansive terrace to the private pool that looked like molten glass to the hot tub steaming in the cool morning air. And thankfully—not so thankfully— after that insane moment on the plane, Arlo and Kael actually let me rest when we arrived. My body needed it. My mind definitely needed it.The next day, though, they refused to let me slip back into my thoughts. They dragged me everywhere.Breakfast in a quiet café off Via Margutta with mouthwatering espresso, then a slow walk through Ponte Sant’Angelo, the ancient angel statues staring down at us.It was surreal.Every time Kael stopped to speak to a vendor, he would switch languages so smoothly, from English to Italian, without missing a beat. His voice dropped lower, smoother, richer, and he’d lean in slightly, hands in his pockets, brows lifted just enough to make the vendor melt.

  • RISE OF THE SCORNED LUNA   16: Pack a bag

CAMILE For the next few days, the entire compound buzzed like a disturbed hive.Decorators everywhere. Florists dragging in crates. Workers drilling, hammering, hanging bright fabric across places. I didn’t ask. I didn’t need to. Everyone knew what the chaos was for.Zane and Emma’s wedding.I forced myself not to think about it. Not to think about him. Not to think about her smug little glances every time we crossed paths, those looks meant to poke at me, to remind me she’d “won.”I ignored her. I ignored all of it.I drowned myself in work instead.By Monday morning, I was back at ARKA, focused on sorting files, updating schedules, and pretending my life was normal. Arlo and Kael had a long day planned, so I went into their office early to prep everything.I was arranging files on Arlo’s desk when an envelope slipped out from between a stack of documents.Thick. Ivory. Embossed gold letters. When I opened it, my fingers froze. It was an invitation letter to Zane & Emma’s wedding.

  • RISE OF THE SCORNED LUNA   15: A Familiar Strangeness

CAMILE It had been a week since I started working at ARKA Group, and honestly, I was still waiting for the chaos to hit.But everything flowed. My schedule was packed with calls, meetings, and coordinating two men who seemed allergic to slowing down. But it wasn’t exactly overwhelming. It felt almost natural. Like I slipped into a role I didn’t know I could handle as well as I was. What shocked me most was Arlo and Kael. They hadn’t touched me.Not once.No pulling me close. No whispered filthy dirty things into my ear, or promising to fuck me so hard I won’t be able to work. No dragging me onto a desk like my body was theirs to take and fucking me from behind, or against the wall. Nothing sexual at all. They treated me like their assistant, professional, sharp, and efficient, though sometimes I’d catch one of them watching me. Kael’s gaze dropped to my mouth like he was reminiscing about the day he fucked it. Arlo’s eyes were following the line of my legs like he wanted to bury h
