"Old Gu, do you think he'll come?" Silence reigned, with only the sounds of Old Gu's cane tapping against the floor with a slow, impatient rhythm. A soft knock echoed against the thick doors, and Alan sitting by the vanity raised his head. His thin brows furrowing as he reached out, instinctively flipping over the bulletin board he'd spent hours scribbling on. Damn it, such a huge mansion and yet he barely ever got enough time to himself. He heaved, sweeping the desk full of scrap papers into an empty cabinet. Then he sighed, flicking away a stray strand of hair off his face. Turning towards the door, he spoke calmly, his tone mildly relaxed, "Come in". Alan slammed the door to his room, hands shaky and covered in sweat. His chest heaved, leaning on his knees as he struggled to catch his breath. Alan perched by the window, the cool breeze carrying a faint scent of fresh pine leaves and cherry blossoms. He exhaled, his elbow resting against the window pane, chin buried in his right palm. It's been three days since he fully recuperated, staying locked within these grand walls while enduring the silence. It wasn't exactly him being confined, it's just that he wasn't given the liberty to move around of his own free will. Everywhere he went, he was being trailed by bulky bodyguards with frightfully scarred faces. Two days later....... The clouds darkened, a soft drizzle drifting down, casting a thin veil over the city. The air was filled with earthy scent of wet soil and blooming flowers, Alan held up his face, inhaling and exhaling gently.
