Chapter Twenty Two

The sky above was full of tumultuous, dark and ragged clouds. Ominous black clouds covered the sky, and released a sudden shower. Thunder rolling in from the west. The morning was cold and wet, with a brisk wind sweeping the rain across the land.

On a normal day, the howling wind frightened Raven, but she was too focused, trying to hold back the avalanche of tears that had been building up since the moment she had been angered, her heart was heavy. The weather explained her mood—anger, disappointment and despair. Angry because she was so close to finding out the truth from the old man, disappointed that she didn’t know what to do next, and lastly, all hope was lost. It’s been two days since the incident happened, and Raven barely left her room after finding out what exactly happened to the old man.

“YOU STILL HAVE TIME RAVEN.” The soothing voice lingered in her head. It had been a while since she heard from the voice, but she was glad she could talk to someone.
