Chapter 13: No more chance

Alexander was sitting at the bar, sipping whiskey. The club sprang to life with music and conversation. He was staring into the wine glass, deep in thought on what just happened a few hours ago.

It was still hard for Alexander to believe Hilda, whom he loved and trusted with all of his heart, would do that to him.

He waved the waiter off when he dropped the third bottle of wine he had requested for that night on the table and tried to open it.

His eyes drifted to a couple who were a few tables away from him; seeing them kissing and laughing made him remember Hilda. Even though Alex was a man of principle and one of the most feared in Los Angeles, to some extent, Hilda had control over him.

She didn't need to ask before Alexander gave her everything. He was the one who helped her secure her current modeling job by investing millions of dollars in the agency, just to make her happy, even though she was not lacking anything.
