"Lauren, run!" My father shouted at me, through his panic and shock as he was trying to shoo me into taking cover from what had been happening. He was dressed in his battle armor, sword drawn and all. In his other hand, his shield, our family crest decorated on the front.
The commotion outside—it only added to the intensity of skirmish that was unfolding before us. From the window, that was just a short space from our living quarters, I could see the starting sparks of a fire on our outside foyer. The flames, they were spreading out and burning everything in their way.
