Roland’s POV

Eight in the morning.

The house is quiet in the way it mostly always . I can only hear the light movements of the workers as they get their work done. Lilly and Debbie left last night after dinner. Diana, on the other hand, should still be asleep.

She usually is.

I don’t bother with breakfast. Food in the morning feels like a bother most times, and I don’t have the patience for unnecessary things before work. I straighten my cufflinks, grab my phone, and head out, already mentally sorting through contracts, deadlines, and conversations that will require just enough politeness to avoid lawsuits.

The car is waiting outside.

So is Diana.

I stop.

Not dramatically. I don’t freeze or react outwardly. I simply… pause. A fraction of a second too long for someone like me.

She’s standing beside the car with a large bag hanging from one shoulder, dressed nothing like the Diana I’ve grown used to. No oversized sweaters. No shapeless dresses. No deliberate attempt to disappear.

  • Raven's Kiss    Frastrated Me

Troy laughs softly . “Were you watching us on the office cameras.”Silence.My eyes darken. “why would I?”“Just seems like something you can do”I say nothing.“That,” he continues, “that expression of yours tells me more than you're intending my friend, I'm right "“I'm irritated,” I say coolly. “That’s all.”“Sure,” he nods. “You’re always irritated.”He steps closer, lowering his voice. “But this is different right?”I straighten. “Careful.”“Roland,” he says quietly now, no teasing at all. “its not a horrible thing to like a woman and want her all to yourself stop acting like I'm accusing you of something absurd”That does it.I laugh—short, sharp, humorless. “You’re imagining things.”“No,” he says calmly. “I’ve known you since you were a stubborn, emotionally constipated teenager who thought liking someone was a weakness.”I clench my fists.“And you look exactly the same now,” he adds. “Just better dressed.”“I don’t like her,” I say firmly.Troy raises a brow. “Didn’t say yo

  • Raven's Kiss    Tension.....

Sir—I don’t wait. I stand and leave, Bonnie scrambling to follow me.“Is there a problem, sir?” she asks carefully.I say nothing. When I barge back into my office, they’re still laughing—too absorbed in each other to notice me at first.I sit down directly across from them.Only then do they look up.“Roland,” Diana says, surprised. “Your meeting is over already?”“Yes,” I reply calmly. “We reached a solution quickly.”Bonnie lingers behind me. I can feel her confusion.I lean back, crossing my legs, my expression composed, controlled. My eyes flick briefly to Troy—then settle on Diana.“So,” I say evenly, my voice betraying nothing of the storm beneath it, “tell me.”They pause.“What’s so funny?”"Troy and I were just catching up" Diana says closing the topic, how was your meeting? "It was okay" my eyes wander to Troy, who for some reason is smiling at me . I raise my eyebrows at him and he looks away back to Diana "so I'm guessing you don't know this , but I actually work here ,

  • Raven's Kiss    EGDY "FRIEND"

“I didn’t think I’d see you anytime soon,” Troy says, finally letting go of Diana after pulling her into that long cheerful hug.“And I’ve been expecting you,” she replies easily, giving him a light punch on the arm. “You always just show up late.”Something in my chest shifts.I don't recognize that laugh—the looseness of it, the way it rings without restraint. It’s a sound I don’t hear from her often or at all. With me, it’s always sharp banter, controlled smiles, guarded sarcasm. This is different. This is… free.A sudden wave of something unfamiliar hits me. I can’t immediately name it, but it settles heavy in my stomach. Seeing her so animated with another man—seeing her light up—makes me feel strange, unsettled, mildly irritated for reasons I refuse to examine too closely.I straighten and clear my throat, deliberately loud. Both of them turn toward me.I keep my expression blank, unreadable, my gaze moving from Troy to Diana and back again. I wait. For context. For an explanati

  • Raven's Kiss    Melancholy

Roland’s POVThe house feels too quiet.I’ve been walking through the corridors for almost twenty minutes, and every step just seems to echo back at me, louder, heavier, like the silence is trying to suffocate me. I’ve always been comfortable with silence—preferred it, even—but tonight it scratches against my nerves like something sharp.I can’t sleep. Not a surprise.I haven’t been able to really sleep for a long time. But tonight… it’s worse.I blame the dinner. Or maybe myself. Or maybe the fact that I had a drink—fine, several drinks—trying to knock my brain into shutting up. But nothing is working.I stop in front of her door.Diana’s door.I don’t know why I’m here. No, that’s not true.I do know—I just don’t want to admit it.She left dinner like she was running from something burning. And the moment she walked out, I was confused.Annoyed?, I thought. Later I realized it wasn’t annoyance. It was the kind of thing that sits in your chest and makes you feel… responsible, somehow.

  • Raven's Kiss    Mr. Mysterio

That’s when it hits me. The smell. Faint, soft, but unmistakable. Alcohol. Not the kind that makes someone wild, but the kind that loosens the tongue just enough.“Roland… are you drunk?” I ask.“Why else would I be here?” he replies flatly. But underneath the flat tone, I hear something else. Something tired. Something raw.For a dangerous second, I almost make the mistake of seeing him as a person.“Here,” he says, nudging the plate toward me. “You’re angry.”“What?” I frown. “No, I’m confused. Why would you bring me biscuits because you think I’m angry?”“You eat when you’re not happy,” he says, as casually as if he’s stating the weather. And I freeze.Even I only recently noticed that about myself… and he saw it in less than a week? I swallow my shock, keeping my face unreadable.“What makes you think I’m angry?” I whisper.“You left the table,” he replies. “And you’re still awake at two in the morning. Which you probably didn’t notice because your mind’s been running back and for
