Chapter 3

Author: Flame3827
Dad immediately contacted his assistant and arranged for me to join the company. Although it was an entry-level position, he assigned his trusted vice president, Henry Wright, to mentor me.

After assessing my current level of knowledge, he also arranged several private tutors for me, covering financial management and other related fields.

Gavin mumbled in discontent.

Julian’s expression stiffened for a moment.

Even the live commenters could not believe it.

“Wait, that worked? Girl that was fast!”

“I don’t get it. Why is MC insisting on disguising as a man and working so hard? Why not go shopping, have afternoon tea, and find a valuable partner to marry?”

No way, not for me.

I didn’t want to spend the money they handed out like charity, nor did I want to marry a husband they picked for me. I didn’t want to walk a path laid out for me.

That was why I had to fight.

I was going to fight for the position where I held the final say.

Life after that felt like it had been set to fast-forward.

I was learning under my new mentor as well as completing my day-to-day workload.

I learned how to coordinate affairs, allocate resources, figure out intricate interpersonal relationships, and master the art of balance and timing at the negotiation table.

After work, I still had to study under my private tutors to systematically build up my knowledge.

After I suggested announcing to the public that Giselle and I were fraternal twins, any reservation she’d had for me vanished. In private, she was exceptionally close to me and took great care of me.

Julian remained friendly on the surface.

Only I knew that he held the strongest vigilance toward me.

It just wasn’t the time to clash with him yet.

Gavin’s dissatisfaction with me was written all over his face, but I never held it against him.

On the contrary, whenever he made a mistake, I always spoke up in his defense in front of Mom and Dad, helping him dodge punishment.

After all, a foolish younger brother was much easier to deal with than a smart one.

That day, among the noisy chatter of the bullet comments, I caught word that Gavin was in trouble.

When leaving work, I intentionally took a detour to the section of the road where the incident occurred.

Gavin was surrounded by a crowd, his face bruised and swollen.

“This rich kid hit someone, refused to pay, even beat them up! Where’s justice in this?”

“The Morgan family uses power to step on people! This guy must be sent to jail!”

I walked over. “What happened here?”

Seeing me, Gavin felt a moment of embarrassment before stubbing his chin out and snapping, “What’s it to you?”

Someone recognized me and shouted loudly:

“Your brother was drag racing, hit someone, refused to pay, and even beat people up! Your family had better take care of this mess, or just wait for the news tomorrow. Let’s see how your stocks will do!”

Gavin cursed in fury, “Bullshit! You just flat out demanded five million. Do you take me for an idiot? I’d rather go to jail than give you a single cent!”

Several people pulled out their phones: “This should go viral. Drag the Morgan name through the mud!”

I raised my hand to stop them.

“People who weren’t on the scene can’t judge the situation. As it happens, I have something here that should clear the picture.”

Gavin’s face turned pale. “I knew you weren’t here to help me out...”

I ignored him and pulled up my phone.

“This is surveillance footage from a nearby shop. As far as I’m concerned, my brother was driving at a permitted speed when you jumped out in front of his car. He tried to reason with you, but you got physical and hit him first.”

“No way! We looked for a surveillance dead zone—”

After that, the group froze.

I smiled and pulled up a screenshot.

“You took ten grand from someone to frame my brother. I’ve already sent the evidence to the police.”

Before long, police cars arrived and took the group away.

Gavin looked at me, utterly dumbfounded.

“How... how did you know?”

I rolled my eyes at him: “Real victims would just take the money and call it a day. Those guys blew the matter up and deliberately provoked you. It was clearly a setup. I just asked a hacker friend to help get the evidence.”

The look in Gavin’s eyes completely changed.

There was disbelief, mixed with gratitude.

But most of all, there was admiration.

Because of his previous attempt to slander me, Julian now faced severe skepticism from upper management and investors. He was stripped of his CEO position.Unable to bear the whispers and finger-pointing from his colleagues, he resigned on his own initiative.Mom and Dad felt bad for him, so they gave him a company with few ties to the main corporation to run.He also moved out of the house and into a villa under his own name. The night before he moved, Julian came to see me.He didn’t say a word, just sipped wine from his glass.I ignored him as I wrapped up my studying for the day. After finishing reading the latest industry news and reports, I finally turned to look at him.He stared at me and finally smiled.“Rory, losing to you... it wasn’t an unfair defeat.”He stood up, swaying as he prepared to leave. When he reached the doorway, he paused.“Why did you choose to return as a boy in the first place? How could you be so sure that if you came back as a girl, Mom and Dad wouldn’t l

Life turned even busier than before.Leaving early and returning late every single day, I still studied with my private tutors during evenings and weekends on top of my heavy workload. The difficulty of my studies had increased by several levels.I had even gone through multiple batches of private tutors.Apart from a slight change in my attire, everything else stayed the same. The first person to come find me was Giselle. She carefully slid the bracelet off her wrist. “Rory, this is yours by right. Grandma left it for you.”I let out a sigh. When it came out that I was a girl after all, her previous panic returned. After all, she still felt that she had taken my place.I grabbed her wrist and slipped the bracelet back on.“Silly, I wasn’t insincere when I said you could have it.“I won’t vent my anger on you because of what your biological parents did. Wear it. We’re sisters now, and you are still one of us.”Her eyes turned red.“Oh, and the engagement remains yours. Like I said befo

As Julian was taken away, his eyes were filled with nothing but resentment.Looking at me, his face was contorted with venomous hatred and despair: “You’re a woman! What are you fighting me for? Isn’t it enough that you’re fed and clothed? Isn’t it better to just behave yourself and wait to get married?”I shook my head.“No, it’s not.”I turned toward the cameras live-streaming.Then I looked toward Dad, and the row of executives from the company.“When I was found and brought back, someone told me that my family favored my adopted sister. They said I had to fight her for our parents’ affection, for our brothers’ love, and for an arranged marriage.“But why? We’re all Morgans, are we not? Why should I be the one fighting for whatever scrap of love they happen to drop? Why should I have to walk the path they laid out for me?“I want to be like my brothers, carving out my own path with my own two hands.“To avoid being slapped with labels, and being defined by others, I disguised myself

“What? Rory Morgan is a woman?”“No way, he’s making this up to escape blame? The jerk really stops at nothing.”“Though to be fair, looking at that posture, he really does look like a young lady.”Julian’s eyes were filled with disbelief. The woman was left with nothing but panic. Her voice trembled as she accused me: “What nonsense is this! You may have a small build, but that doesn’t make you a woman! We dated for three years—as if I could be fooled!”Dad’s face shifted from shock to immense, wild joy.He walked around me, looking me up and down: “Rory, tell Dad the truth, are you a boy or a girl?”I looked at him: “We can have a female colleague verify it for me.”Soon, a female executive from the company took me backstage.A quarter of an hour later, we walked out.The executive’s face was beaming with joy: “I can confirm that she is indeed a woman.“Therefore, what was told just now was entirely slander. Rory didn’t hurt anyone, and there are absolutely no issues with her capabil

The commenters were panicking:“This is going to ruin MC! Hurry up and reveal your real identity!”“This must be Julian’s doing. What the guy lacks in capability, he more than makes up for in depravity!”I wasn’t in a hurry.Let the enemy gloat for a little longer.I wanted to shatter his victory dream at the very moment he was most triumphant.Seeing Dad give up on me, a few senior executives who had an eye for talent could only shake their heads one after another. On the surface, Julian looked mournful, but his eyes were filled with excitement he could barely conceal. The woman kept wiping her tears in front of the media and the livestream cameras.“I’m sorry for the scene. But I have to seek justice for my child.“Thank you, everyone, for upholding justice for me and my baby.”Seeing that Dad had finally made his decision, her eyes turned red as she looked at me.“Rory, are you going to apologize now?”I shook my head. She teetered as if about to collapse.“It was my own delusion. I stood nonchalantly at the front of the stage.“You can’t ruin my career just because of a woman.”Seeing that I didn’t show the slightest hint of fear, Julian jumped out to accuse me further.“Rory, you have no say in this.“You had a messy private life, abandoned your poor girlfriend, and ruthlessly forced her to have an abortion! How could someone with such morality be qualified to head our company?”I looked at him: “Julian, I’m your brother. Why would you not trust me, but a complete stranger?”Julian spoke with righteous indignation: “I stand for justice, not personal bias! You may be my brother, but I won’t let you continue down the wrong path just because of that!”He looked toward the woman, took off his coat, and draped it over her shoulders.“Ma’am, I am Rory’s older brother.“I’m so sorry about what Rory did to you. But rest assured, as a representative of the Morgan family, I will give you an explanation and make amends for the harm done to you.”The crowd below the stage
