She can’t be serious, can she?

“What are you talking about?” I ask Violet, and then I let out a small laugh.

There is no way that she could take over my company. I would rather be buried alive first before I let that happen.

“I would suggest that you get on a plane so you can fly back to China because I am not discussing this on a phone call,” She replies, her voice calm and tinted with formality.

“Are you being serious? Was f*cking up my life not enough for you?!” My voice is strong but also filled with emotions.

“Chris, I’m sorry that I hurt you, but as I said, this is not a conversation to have over the phone,” She tells me, and then hangs up.

I remove the phone from my ear and I look at the blank screen. I have so many questions going through my mind, but one thing I am sure of, and that is that I have to get back to China as soon as possible.
