"If it is a sin to love you then I shall gladly bear it."

"If it is a crime to desire you, then I shall gladly take any punishment given to me."

"But you must remember, Chang'e.. No matter how many times you reject me, curse me, insult me, I won't give up."

"You can run away even to end of the earth or deep into the abyss, I.. Zhong Kui, will never let you go."

"Your heart, body, soul, everything that you are, belongs to me."

The voice of a man, cold and deep yet sensually dangerous echoed in Ming Yue's mind. She didn't even know why she could hear things even though she was dead.

Was it the voice of a spirit?

But why the voice sounded familiar to her ears?

--------------

*BAM! BAM! BAM!*

With loud knocking that could woke the dead, Ming Yue opened her eyes with a gasp of air. Her eyes spread wide, staring at the ceiling that looked familiar to her. Her brows furrowed in confusion as she kept staring at the ceiling. That ceiling was the basement inside Qing family house. Ming Yue's very own room.

*BAM! BAM! BAM!*

"Slut! wake up and make breakfast!" A shout belong to none other than her adoptive mother, Gu Sui Rong could be heard clearly from outside of the room.

"Right away." Ming Yue answered knowing that if she didn't reply, Sui Rong wouldn't let her go. Steps could be heard as it slowly disappeared, Ming Yue breathed a sigh of relief before her eyes gazing around the room.

'What exactly happened here?' Ming Yue asked inwardly. Such question was normal since Ming Yue knew she supposed to be dead.

The room she was in always had a pleasant scent even though it was a basement. Her bed was just matress on the floor and her furniture only had small table and counter made of boxes that was originally in the basement. The ventilation she had was just small window that was facing the garage.

Then Ming Yue reached for the small mirror near the counter and looked at herself. Her jaw dropped slightly as she couldn't believe what she saw. The reflection showed a young girl, around 15 years old. A pale white face with a sense of gloominess yet still beautiful nonetheless.

It seemed Ming Yue had returned to 10 years ago. Was this the so called reincarnation? Maybe heaven pitied her and granted her another life so she could restart her own life. Her lips curled upward, turning into a soft smile.

Her vow, she still remembered it. This time, she would live for herself. This time, she would not bow down to anyone ever again. This time, she wanted to taste what it felt to truly live.

Ming Yue's mind drifted to a single person. Her eyes turned cold as she closed it for a while and opened it again. This time she would not go to that man. This time she would leave him alone.

'Long Zhi Qiang.. just as I vowed, I won't fall in love with you for the second time.' Ming Yue muttered inside as she stood up and walked to the door.

'I have loved once and it was painful.'

'Now, I have no need for love.'

'Heaven.. if you hear my prayer, let my heart be frozen for eternity'

'That way it won't be broken'

'That way it won't get hurt'

-----------

Ming Yue arrived at the dining room and saw four person gazed at her coldly. If it was in the past, Ming Yue wouldn't be able to meet their eyes. She was afraid to see the coldness that was directed at her. Now, she stared at them back with the same cold gaze. It caused the four pair of eyes startled.

"What were you doing in your room?! Can't you see that we are waiting for you to cook our breakfast?!" Sui Rong said in anger.

"Hmph! Disaster child will always be disaster child. No wonder your mother abandoned you." Sui Rong added with a sneer.

Staring at the woman indifferently, Ming Yue didn't even refute. Instead, she walked toward the kitchen and started preparing breakfast for those rotten people.

"Hmph! What rotten hag.. I am amazed you can withstand this long living with those people."

A voice could be heard and soon a figure appeared next to Ming Yue, transparent and floating. The figure was a young girl in her teens, blood stained half of her pale face, showing the state when she died.

"It's the usual, nothing new." Ming Yue replied coldly.

Yes, it was nothing new. The usual insults that happened almost every day for years, Ming Yue was used to it. Yet.. in past she kept on hoping that one day, her adopted family would accept her. In the past, Ming Yue was starving for love. Love from family, love from friends, love from special person. Still, she couldn't get any of it.

Ming Yue laughed in mockery inside toward her past self, how foolish she was for kept on hoping for something that would never come.

The young girl stared at Ming Yue for a while before stating her opinion. "Are you okay?" she asked.

Ming Yue turned her gaze to the young girl's face while staring at her in confusion, "Of course. Why do you ask, Yu Ran?"

Yu Ran shook her head, "It's nothing. I just felt there is something different in you but maybe that was just my imagination."

In fact what Yu Ran suspected was right on the mark. Ming Yue revealed a bitter smile but it disappeared quickly. She had been reborn, of course it would leave a sense of mark in her soul and ghosts were sensitive to that kind of mark.

Finished making breakfast, Ming Yue took the leftover she cast aside before presenting the food on the dining table as her breakfast. She was not allowed to eat at the dining room so she ate her breakfast at the kitchen instead.

Eating, cleaning the kitchen then preparing for school was the daily activities Ming Yue had in the past life. However she didn't want to do it anymore. Now, Ming Yue planned to break away from this hellish house. This time for sure, she would leave this house and never returned.

Demon Realm, Hei'an Palace...The dim glow of Hei’an Palace, known as the Palace of Eternal Darkness, seemed to pulse as the Black Falcon members stepped across the threshold. Long Zhi Qiang, the leader of the Black Falcon, strode with purpose toward the central throne. His dark onyx eyes glinted with authority, and the chilling energy around him seemed to bend to his will.Behind him, the Black Falcon squad moved in a more relaxed manner, their movements laced with curiosity and unease as they stepped into the realm of the demons. Wei Qian, the shortest fuse of the group, nervously adjusted his jacket, feeling out of place in the dark, oppressive atmosphere. Cao Wen, the vice-captain, walked with his usual air of calmness, but his eyes darted to the four generals kneeling before the throne, a slight discomfort evident on his face."Welcome back, Supreme Lord of the Demon Realm, Zhong Kui the Ghost King," the kneeling figures spoke in unison, their voices deep and reverent.Zhi Qiang

  • Rebirth : A Woman With Frozen Heart   The Doting Smile of The Lord of Death

In the underworld..King Yama’s throne room was as dark and oppressive as ever, the flickering green flames casting eerie shadows on the stone walls. The stench of the underworld was thick in the air, a mix of decay and the weight of countless souls that wandered in its depths. It was the scent of miasma. King Yama, with his imposing figure and sharp features, sat behind his grand throne, buried in his endless work. His eyes glinted with the weight of authority as he surveyed the procession of souls before him.But today, something was different.A shimmering silver light suddenly pierced the gloom of his court. The souls of Rui Chang Hu and Shen Yu appeared before him, their forms radiant and ethereal, like bright stars in the murky underworld. Their presence was out of place, a stark contrast to the usual dullness of the souls that crossed through his domain. Yama’s eyes narrowed as he regarded the two souls, a sense of annoyance creeping into his chest.“The pesky little moon did i

  • Rebirth : A Woman With Frozen Heart   The New Path for The Two Poor Souls

Ming Yue stood alone in the moon chamber at the top of the Moon Palace, her long, flowing robes rippling slightly in the cool breeze that blew through the open balcony doors. The night was still, the air filled with a heavy sense of mystery, as if the very atmosphere of the heavenly realm was holding its breath, waiting for something. Below her, the vast expanse of the realm stretched out, but her focus was fixed on the moon that hung high above, a glowing silver sphere that bathed the world in its ethereal light. She had not seen it like this in ages, and yet, despite the beauty of the celestial body, it now felt more like a reminder of the past, of things lost, and of choices she had made. Ming Yue’s gaze was unwavering, her thoughts as distant as the stars that twinkled in the dark canvas above."Zhong Kui.. I have come to this world and I know you have come as well," Ming Yue whispered, "I can faintly feel the connection between us."The moonlight bathed her face, casting soft sha

  • Rebirth : A Woman With Frozen Heart   Camaraderie in The Presence of Their Mistress

Ming Yue stepped into the heavenly space, the shimmering veil of reality parting as her feet touched the ground. The vast expanse of heavenly realms stretched out before her, a place where the very air seemed to hum with ancient power. The Wu family, following closely behind her, had already begun to adjust to the spiritual pressure that filled the air. They were still not accustomed to the ethereal atmosphere, but they felt a sense of awe as they took in the grandeur of the space that had once been the domain of the Moon Goddess, now partially hers. The air around her seemed to carry a quiet reverence, and as they advanced further into the space, Ming Yue could feel the presence of the Four Heavenly Beasts—her loyal guardians who had already returned to the heavenly realm. She could sense their waiting, each one full of anticipation for her return.Zhu Que, the Vermilion Bird and ruler of the South Palace, was the first to step forward. Her fiery red plumage glowed like the sunset, a

  • Rebirth : A Woman With Frozen Heart   Another Princess of Wu Family

Ming Yue stopped in front of the grand banquet hall, her eyes staring at the door silently, with the quiet confidence of someone who had weathered countless storms. Her bodyguard, Yang Lixin, followed closely behind her, his weary eyes staring at the door as well. He wondered how to clean up the aftermath, because this incident was something that out of logic. Yang Lixin turned his eyes from the door to Ming Yue, thinking that she was too powerful for someone as humble as him to fully understand, and yet here she was, calm and composed. Before they entered, however, Ming Yue slightly raised her hand and made an incantation gesture with two of her fingers. A subtle wave of her hand, and the air around her seemed to shimmer faintly, like the light from a distant star. She drew from the power she had inherited from the Moon Goddess—fifty percent of that immense force now at her disposal. The ancient incantation she murmured was soft, almost like a whisper on the wind, but the result was

  • Rebirth : A Woman With Frozen Heart   The Aftermath Of The Battle (2)

The Banquet HallInside the grand banquet hall of the hotel, an eerie silence fell as the transformation completed. The blood-soaked floors and ghastly hands that had clawed out of the walls vanished, leaving behind the pristine, regal elegance the hall was known for. Crystal chandeliers sparkled brightly, their warm light reflecting off the polished marble floors and gilded columns. It was as if the horrors from earlier had been nothing more than a shared nightmare. The tension among the gathered guests, however, lingered. People exchanged wary glances, unsure if it was truly over. The air was thick with unease until Wu Shi Jian, the patriarch of the Wu family, rose from his seat.“It’s over,” he said in a steady voice, his eyes scanning the room before settling on his father, the Elder of the Wu family. “Father, the disturbance has been resolved. Yue'er has succeeded.”Grandpa Wu let out a heavy sigh of relief, his wise, weathered face softening. His faith in his adopted granddaught
