“What in the devil's name am I seeing?”

I muttered under my not-so-stable breath.

I never expected to be caught off-guard in this state.

“Thank you,” she said arrogantly, pushing the door wider and walking through.

Why the thank you? I never asked her to come in.

I swallowed my breath erratically.

Deep breath to ease the tension that was building up within me.

This is my house, and I call the short here. Not the other way around.

“Nice decor,” what a show-off.

What was more of a show-off was asking me not to close the door.

“Ohhhh… please, get the door.” She had said

“Your half-sister is outside?” I asked in annoyance but with a smile.

“Ahhh… very funny. My maid is outside and not my half-sister,”

She wasn't bluffing. I checked and saw a lady. She looked familiar.

Hell no! Maybe I'm making a mistake, maybe not. One thing is for sure, this is not the time, nor the place to check.

I motioned for her to come in. She looked innocent and unharmed.

“Never say never,” I thought to myself.

Derek's POV “I can't believe this,” The instant I opened the door to Leo's study, those words came with no effort.“It's no dead-end, right?” He asked. His voice swelled in eagerness.I know this means a lot to him, and I'm glad his guts are never wrong.“It's a lot, Leo. See for yourself,” I handed him the printed documents and took my seat in the chair adjacent to him.“I know it! Tricia didn't lie. She couldn't have lied, actually…” Yes, Tricia. Following her lead didn't allow me to ask Slyvia to stay with us for a few more days.“Derek, you have work to do and I have my people to take care of,” she was as calm as the sky.“But you promise to come visit again?” I had asked out of fascination.I don't know what this is. This big urge to want to spend more time with Sylvia.Maybe because she brings so much peace to my turbulent soul. This friendship? I want it to last for a very long time. I don't care if I don't have a second chance mate, as long as Slyvia remains a part of my w

Liza's POV “These guys need a better approach,” I lamented to Amma.“It's annoying how they just never get it. Too daft to get the hint to stop.” I went on.She wasn't just quiet, she was listening.“I told that fake Alpha, that son of a b***h to stop sending those small fries and to stop following me,” “And now? The fake Luna has grown too much b***s to ask me to see her?”That's ridiculous as f***!“You don't have to go,” Amma replied.Actually… I don't have to and I don't want to.Is it that important to her? Let's see how desperate she can get to have it.I stopped stressing over the spilled milk and focused on the milk processing factory.“You good?” Oriel's voice buzzed across the room.“Yes milady, I am,” I flashed her a smile and it was subtle but genuine.“The doctor had so much to say, you know,” she walked to the mirror and redressed her hair.“I see… to you or to whoever cares to listen?” I hope it's the former. The latter is not going to do him any good and I want to k

Tricia's POVIt wasn't enough. I was locked up, I was straddled to a point. The weight of having to stay put always burdened my soul and spirit.“Argh…” I screamed in pain. Flip the porridge with my legs.“Are you crazy?” Came the harsh voice of the guard.I spit on the porridge in disgust. “Come loose these shackles,” I screamed. My head twisted to the iron bar that tied me to an old iron table's leg.Do you want to move? You move with the table. What sort of movement is that? Call me a loser without saying I'm a loser. It sucks and I decided not to suck this up.“Why do we keep serving this ingrate when she wouldn't even eat?” The second guard asked in total disrespect. He wouldn't dare say such to me if not for my present predicament.“You can f****n* go to hell with the food. You a****l*” I retorted with a grin. One that depicted - I was losing my mind. And a wave of freshness and hope rose within when I was finally looser from the shackles.“B**c*, I guess it's your lucky da

Leo's POV I left Derek with the guard that came in.Moving Tricia from the general dungeon to this side was one smart move I had taken.I can't imagine asking her something important while other prisoners eavesdrop. This particular dungeon? It is soundproof. No one would be able to hear our conversation.“Are you sure you want to do this?” Lucil, who's been mad at me, decided to shove aside our differences.“I have to,” I replied to himI could feel how uneasy he had become since I made up my mind to meet with Tricia.“What if this isn't good for her,”Beat me to it. I don't understand why Lucil would be bothered about this or Tricia.“Since when did you start to bother about Tricia?” I asked While I was busy making her warm me up. He was the number one anti-fan of our relationship. Now that I've ended things and put Tricia in a place that'd make her pay for what she did? He's busy complaining and getting worried.“I'm not worried about her-” I wish he would just allow me to get t

Derek's POV I'm sorry man. It's just been a lot lately,” I hate to see Leo having so much weight on his mind.“It's fine,” those were the only words that made it out of my mouth.Leo is my brother and whatever bothers him? Bothers me.A tap on his shoulder and I could sense some relief. So, I took a gamble.“I don't know what's happening between you and Liza, but I honestly wish you'll sort it out without any hitch,” I've been walking on a tightrope since we got back. Didn't want to say a thing about Liza. She has proven to be Leo’s only trigger. When it seemed I couldn't fathom any offense taken? I pressed forward.“Seeing you happy means a lot to me Leo and if you need time to go sort things out? Don't hesitate to,” He was silent. He has a lot on his mind and I hope he'll share.“When is she getting here?” His stoic nature was back to work.Always strong and standing. I know how it feels. No one claps for weaknesses and being an Alpha means you always have to be strong.“Soon.

Leo's POV “Are you c**z*?” I asked Derek.“It's not that deep Leo. She's no harm,” he defended.“Of course she is. You invited her over without saying anything to me?” I bickered.“I'm sorry. Okay… I didn't know you'd have a problem with that. I saw the way she was reluctant to leave the other day and I thought inviting her over wouldn't be a bad idea.” He explained.Of course, it's not a bad idea. I mean, he's allowed to invite whoever he wants to invite.I'm just not in a good place right now. Not after the conversation I had with her before I left.“I have to help Chris to become the Alpha,” she broke that information to me and it did quite several breaking within me.What if she ends up getting hurt the second time and there's no second chance?“What are you now? A savisavior couldn't contain my anger.“I know these people better than him and I can always help to shield him,” she had upheld her claim. How couldn't she see the danger emanating from this path she had chosen?“Let m

Liza's POV My confusion heightened with each step we took.“Look who's here!” The enthusiasm in those words challenged my freight.I looked around to be certain I heard right. But deeply, I knew there was no way I could miss this voice. It belongs to the one and only coward of the century.“I hope you weren't rude to our visitor.” his chuckle felt creepy on my body. His unleashed dog nodded in precision. And I scoffed mentally at what view played out in my sight. One thing stood out, it's just the three of us. Why?This gathering can't possibly be a secret to Zoe, can it? I thought for a while.“Please, have your seat,” his hands pointed to an empty couch. But my legs dragged on. The feeling of sitting with him in private? It irritates me.The thought alone makes me fight the urge to throw up all over the place. It took every single marrow in my body to not make a mess.“Guide our visitor to sit,” a command directed to his dog who didn't think twice before tapping me once and usheri

  • Rebirth: Annabel's Revenge    CHAPTER 105 PATIENT DOG

Zoe's POV “What do you mean she's been going there every day?” This information is absurd. “I asked you to find out all that she's been doing. And this is all you have?” I'm gradually losing my mind dealing with this fickle being.“That's all I've done for the past month,” she said back to me.I landed my heavy palm on her well-rounded cheeks.“That's not what I want to hear from you!” I screamed barkery. Her eyes blinked back the tears. I scoffed at how feeble she was.A little slap sends her shaking like this? I can't believe I'm surrounded by a bunch of fools.“Now that your factory reset has been taken care of? Tell me,” I ordered.“Yes, my lady.” What a shame! My eyes scanned from her head to her toes. It reeks of fear.“All she does is to train and visit the clinic. She spends most of her time in the clinic,”“Is that all?” She stuttered back as hurry filled my words.“Yes. She takes two routes to the clinic.” She added. Two routes? Why?“Does she know that you follow her?”
