LOGINJessie's POV
“My Princess, it is time,” a voice said. I gasped like I had been awoken from a deep slumber. “Dad, is that you? Is it really you?” I asked, still unsure of what was happening.
I looked around and realized I was standing in my father’s house. The familiar scent of wood and pine filled the air, but everything felt strangely unreal.
My hands shook as I touched the hem of the black gown I wore. It hugged my body tightly and felt unbearably heavy, as though it carried all my grief with it. The dress stopped just above my knees, simple but elegant. My father stood in front of me, still strong as I remembered, but there was something in his eyes that I had never seen before, grief, so deep it broke me. “Yes, my little pup,” he said, his voice rough and breaking, “I never thought a time would come when I would be the one standing at your mother’s funeral instead of her standing at mine.” His words tore through me. I watched as tears rolled slowly down his cheeks, heavy with sorrow I could almost feel.
In that moment, I realized this wasn’t just sadness, it was the sound of a father’s heart breaking, his whole world falling apart.
“Mom's funeral,” I muttered under my breath. “Come here, darling,” Dad said as he opened his arms, and I hurriedly rushed into them. “It's really you, Dad, I thought I would never see you again,” I said as I cried uncontrollably. “What do you mean, Jessie? I have always been here”. I read the confusion that was slowly creeping into his eyes. “It's nothing, Dad.” I hugged him more tightly, like I was scared he would be taken away from me any moment soon. Immediately, my eyes caught a glance of the daily newspaper placed on the table with 1st of August, 2021 boldly written on it. I quickly drew myself out of his arms and ran to check the calendar,“ The moon goddess indeed granted my request. I have been given a second chance to live again.” I remembered it was on this exact day, 2025, that I had taken my last breath in the previous life. “I have been taken 4years back in time,” I thought with my palm partly covering my mouth, which was already wide open.
“Jessie, what are you saying?” My dad interrupted. I didn't know I had been thinking out loud, “it's nothing, Dad," I answered once again. “Meet me at the funeral ground,” he said, but I could still see some questions that were written all over his face.
I left my room and headed for the funeral. As I walked down the staircase, I heard some sound coming from the guest room, the same sound I had heard during my mother's burial in the previous life. I had seen Gaty in the guest room making out with a man whose face I was not bothered to look at. Everything was exactly just as it had happened before, but this time around, I was curious to find out who. As I came closer, I recognised the face; it was Derek, the monster. His hands slipped into Gaty's clothes as he fumbled her bosoms, her lips locked with his as they moaned their lives away. “Let's kill them,” my wolf whispered as I burned with rage. I wanted to but I couldn't. “I killed them because they killed me and my unborn child in 2025, and I came back to 2021 to take my revenge.” That sounds crazy. “Also I wouldn't derive any pleasure in killing them yet, I need to make them pay for every hurt, pain and scar they had caused me”.
As I walked towards the room, I made sure that they noticed every single step I made. Suddenly, they heard my footsteps approaching, and they jerked up like someone who had seen a ghost and brushed themselves up like nothing had happened. “Gaty,” I said, giving a calm, mischievous smile as I stared into her wavering eyes. “Oh..Jes..Jessie,uhm, meet my friend uhm, De..rek” she quivered. “I know him, a monster and his mistress,” I scoffed as I drew closer to her while fixing a cold gaze that could rip someone apart on Derek. “Jessie, what are you saying? You are just meeting him for the first time” Gaty sa, id while feigning an innocent look. “First time? Ohhh, I know a monster when I see one, murderers”.
Their hands shivered like criminals who had been caught in a crime scene with guns. “Enjoy while it lasts,” I smirked as I walked out of the room.
“Do you think she saw us?” Gaty asked in a low tone, not knowing that my hearing ability had quite been heightened. “She couldn't possibly have” Derek answered, yet unsure. “Why would she call us murderers? Nobody saw me add wolfsbane to the Luna's drink,” Gaty asked again. “It's just grief, the little brat is just drunk, it is written all over her sullen face.” Derek chuckled.
“Little brat? You should brace yourself up ahead for the hell that this little brat is about to rain on you,” I muttered under my breath.
I happened to see my mom once again, her lifeless body lying peacefully inside the casket and just like in the other life, she had been poisoned with wolfsbane, “mom, it's your lil pup, I'm here, I will make sure they pay dearly for what they had done to you” I said as I stroked her hair while my face was soaked in tears.
“Why was I awoken on this day? Why not a day before she was poisoned? I could have done something to prevent this; I could have saved her. Why this day?” I grieved. I turned to see Gaty shedding a crocodile tear with Derek by her side, consoling her. Suddenly, I felt a rage rush through my veins as my blood boiled. Just at that moment, my body gave way for my wolf nature to take over, completely overshadowing me like it had been waiting all this time to break free. And with my eyes fixed solely on them, I dashed with a deadly intent to tear them into shreds, piece by piece.
Jessie's POV My father visited Gaty every week at the prison. Sat with her in the visiting room for the full hour allowed. But he never spoke. Never said a word. Just sat there, looking at her with such profound sadness that the guards said it made them want to cry.He was hurting. Deeply, terribly hurting. And I didn't know how to help him.Two months passed. Two months of healing, of trying to move forward, of learning to live with everything that had happened.Ethan and I got married. It was a small ceremony, just close friends and family. My father came, but he was like a ghost. Present in body but absent in spirit. He stood beside me as I walked down the aisle, but his eyes were empty and weak. After the ceremony, he hugged me and whispered, "Your mother would be so proud of you."Then he left early, saying he needed to visit Gaty. It was her visiting day.Maria was in prison too, awaiting trial for Victoria's murder. The evidence was overwhelming. She would spend the rest of he
Jessie's POVOne month had passed since that terrible day. One month since Gaty fired those shots. One month since our lives changed forever.Today was her sentencing hearing.I sat in the courtroom between Ethan and Beatrice. My hands were clasped tightly in my lap, so tight that my knuckles had turned red.The courtroom was packed. Reporters filled the back rows. Luna Constance sat on the other side with daughter, both of them dressed in black. They were still in mourning. Derek had died two days after the shooting. The bullet had pierced his heart, and despite the doctors' best efforts, he hadn't survived.Gaty was brought in wearing an orange prison jumpsuit. Her hands were cuffed in front of her. She looked so small, so broken. Nothing like the girl I had grown up with. When her eyes met mine, I saw everything there. Shame, regret, pain, and something that looked like relief. Like she was glad it was finally over. The judge entered, and we all stood. "Please be seated," he said.
Ethan's POV I forced myself to keep watching. There were other files. More recordings. One showed her meeting with the prosecutor in the parking garage. "You'll get the rest after the trial. Just make sure you do your job. I want him in prison for life."And then I found the file Sofia had mentioned. The one about Dennis. It showed Maria in my father's study, arguing with a man I had never seen before. He was rough-looking, with scars on his face and cold eyes."I need to see my son," the man was saying. "Dennis is my son. He needs to know who his real father is.""I thought I paid you to keep quiet," Maria hissed. "We had a deal.""What is money compared to blood?" the man demanded. "He has a right to know the truth.""If you tell him, if you tell anyone, I will destroy you," Maria threatened. "I'll make sure you lose everything. Go back to wherever you crawled out from and stay there."The man left, and Maria stood there for a moment. Then she picked up the phone."It's me," she sa
Ethan's POVAs I pulled into the company parking lot and stepped out of the car, I knew there was still work to do. Maria and Dennis had tried to take everything from me. Now it was time to take it all back.I was heading toward the entrance when a woman suddenly stepped in front of me, blocking my path.I stopped, studying her face. She looked familiar, with brown hair pulled back in a simple ponytail, plain clothes, and nervous eyes that kept darting around like she was afraid someone might see her."Can I help you?" I asked."Alpha Ethan," she said, her voice shaking. "Please, I need to talk to you. It's urgent."That's when I recognized her. She was one of the omegas who had worked at my pack house. Vivian, I think her name was. Or maybe Sofia? I couldn't remember exactly."I know you," I said slowly. "You were one of the omegas in the pack. Where have you been? You disappeared months ago. Several of you did.""I know, I know," she said, moving her hands. "And I'm so sorry for tha
Jessie's POVAs I screamed Gaty's name, I turned and saw Luna Constance storming toward us. Her face was red with fury."You!" she shouted, pointing at Gaty. "Drop that gun at once!""Drop it!" Luna Constance commanded again. "You killed the Luna! Don't you dare drag my son into your mess!"Gaty's hand was shaking, and the gun was trembling in her grip."Your son?" Gaty said, her voice was bitter and broken. "Your son used me. He made me believe he loved me. He made me do terrible things."Luna Constance laughed. A cruel and mocking laugh. "Were you really thinking that my son was going to marry you? You? An orphan with nothing to her name?"Gaty's whole body went rigid."Did you actually believe Derek would tie himself to someone like you? You were convenient, that's all. A useful tool. Nothing more."I saw something snap in Gaty's eyes. She reached up and scratched at her head frantically, like she was trying to tear something out."Ohh!" she screamed. "You all used me! All of you!"
Jessie's POV Alpha Marcus stood at the edge of the field, his face dark with fury. His eyes were fixed on Gaty and Derek."Dad.." I started, but he held up his hand, silencing me."What did you just say?" he asked Derek, his voice was dangerously quiet. "About my mate. About Luna Catherine."Derek's face went pale. "Alpha Marcus, I..""Answer me!" my father roared, his Alpha command was bleeding through now. "What did you say about poisoning my mate?"Gaty was shaking; her eyes were wide with terror. "Alpha Marcus, please, I can explain.""Explain?" My father's voice cracked like thunder. "Explain how you murdered my mate? The woman who took you in? Who gave you a home?"Derek, seeing an opportunity, stepped forward. "She can't deny it, Alpha Marcus. Gaty poisoned Luna Catherine out of pure greed. She wanted to take her place in the pack. She wanted power and status that she was never entitled to. She manipulated me into helping her, but it was all her idea. All her plans.""You are
Ethan's POVThe night air was cold on my skin as I drove away from the Moonstone Pack. I held the steering wheel so tight that my knuckles turned red. Inside me, my wolf howled in pain, a cry so deep, it felt like it would break me from within."Go back," my wolf urged from within. "Go back and cla
Ethan's POV I moved down the corridor on silent feet; every step was controlled. The holding cells were in the basement of the pack house, accessible only by a single narrow stairway. I could hear the new guards at the top, talking casually about breakfast and their plans for the day, completel
Jessie's POV"Ethan." His name escaped from my lips like a desperate prayer. He paused at the door, his hand was holding the handle so tightly I could see his knuckles turn red, but he did not turn around. The rejection hung heavy in the air between us; it was suffocating me, and it was so hard tha
Jessie's POV Something about him felt different now. Back at the funeral, he had looked almost ordinary, like someone hiding a part of himself. But standing here, there was no doubt, this was the Alpha I had heard so much about, the same one I had seen in old drawings. Only those sketches had not
