Life Without Louve

CHAPTER TWO

Life Without Louve

There was a moment of silence after Bree was dragged out by the guards.

All the maids including Chloe resumed back to their duties immediately, as they all knew that the alpha was deeply sad and angry. He could also take up his anger on them if they weren’t careful enough.

Chloe knew Bree couldn't have done what she had been accused of, but she didn't have a say or any evidence that proved Bree didn't have a hand in the death of Lucian's sister.

Lucian was still standing there, numb as it occurred to him that; that was his reality. He shut his eyes, breathing heavily as sweat trickled down his face.

His eyes were filled to the brim with tears, but he had to control himself outside otherwise, people would find out that he wasn't as strong and mean as he portrayed.

Gamma Rio rushed over to meet him but he wade him away.

"I don't want to discuss anything right now,” he muttered.

"She deserves to die!" Rio almost yelled at Lucian but, he tried to keep his cool, “She deserves to die your highness, why are you being calm with her, she..”

"Really?” Lucian cut him off as his angry gaze fell on him, “You still have the effrontery to talk to me about killing her after failing to do so at first?” he yelled.

Gamma Rio retracted the next words he wanted to say, he paused for a while. Had he not made sure that Bree wasn't breathing anymore?

Of course he did, he made sure to kill her and when he touched her, there was no sign of life in her, he even called the physician and she was pronounced dead. How exactly could this inexplicable event occur?

Gamma Rio tried to talk but Alpha Lucian stopped him quickly.

"That's enough. I don't need you to say anything further,” Lucian gave him a stern look, “Just leave the rest to me,” he added and walked away, leaving Rio with nothing more to say.

When Alpha Lucian got to his room, the tears which he had been pulling back came rolling down his face as he saw his sister’s daughter in tears.

He had never felt that way in years and he still couldn't believe that he had just lost his sister, Louve, because of a mere slave!

He couldn’t believe that his sister was gone, just like that!

Lucian huffed, his heart ached to see Ashiana that way, the death of her mother was really going to affect her badly and he knew she wouldn't be able to get over it.

Not now at least.

Ashiana saw Lucian coming towards her and smiled. She ran towards him but the maids held her back, and with a signal from Lucian, she was let go.

"Uncle,” Ashiana sniffled, “Tell me, where has mother gone to?” she asked and held his hands “I don't like it when she has to play hide and seek this way, I miss her so much,” she hung her head.

How could they tell a seven years old that her mom was no more, how were they going to break the news to her?

Lucian had told Ashiana that her mom was playing a game with them; a game of hide and seek and she would be back when they find her.

“I don’t want to play this game anymore,” she whined, “Can mom just come back to me already,” Ashiana broke into tears again.

Lucian quickly pulled her into his arms, he had nothing to say to her, he didn’t know what would be right to say to the little girl, she was never going to be able to deal with the fact that her mom was dead.

"Can you take me to see her? I miss my mum so much,” she whimpered, “I promise to be a good girl, I will listen to whatever you say, just bring my mom back to me, I want to see her again,” she murmured as tears raced down her cheeks.

Lucian picked her up and made her sit on the sofa chair in the room, he then settled down next to her. He patted her gently on the back and kissed her forehead, he hoped that would help to calm her down.

"Don't worry, I will bring justice to your mother,” Lucian spoke as anger shot through him, his pain suddenly turned into rage.

He had never been so miserable and emotional in his whole life.

He had lived all of his years with his sister, Louve by his side, and now he would have to live without her, he couldn’t bear the thought of that.

Lucian pulled her close to himself and wrapped his hands around her, “I will do whatever it takes to get justice for your mother,” he mumbled.

Ashiana’s little hands swung around Lucian, he was all she had left.

The poor little girl never got to meet her father and each time she asked her mother, she would always bring up different topics to try and hinder her from knowing.

She only had her mum who cared, loved and supported, but now, the only person who used to be there to scold and correct her was gone. Too far to hear her cries and headache.

Lucian was heartbroken and devastated. The agony his sister passed through before dying kept coming into his mind. Rage pulsed through his vein whenever he thinks of that.

Louve did nothing to have gone through such, she was always a calm and outgoing girl, she did nothing wrong to have been killed.

“I will make sure she pays for this,” Lucian growled, “I will torture her so much that she would beg for her own death, I will make her life a living hell.” His eyes burned like fire when he remembered the low life that had succeeded in killing the only one he had ever loved so dearly, his dear sister.

He clenched his fists as the only thing he wanted to at that moment was Bree suffering even more than she had experienced. Sadly, that wouldn't be able to bring his sister back to life.

He would make her pay for afflicting so much pains on his family, taking a sister away from her brother and a mother away from her daughter.

He shut his eyes as images of Louve races through his mind.

Louve was Lucian's sister, she was the only one who was there for him, she supported him through hard times. She had been there to support him since the death of their parents which happened in the most tragic way possible.

Louve had gone through a lot in life just to make sure that Lucian turned out to be the greatest and most respected Alpha of the entire clan.

She fought through the darkest of times and at the end of the day, she succeeded in helping him.

Hot tears trickled down his face for the first time in his life.

He was furious as he stared at the condition Ashiana had been forcefully pushed into; a miserable condition.

He sniffled and patted her on the back.

"Don't worry everything will be alright."

A few moments later, Ashiana had already fallen asleep. He peeped at her, she was soundly asleep and he was careful enough while he dropped her on the bed.

The little girl had been having a tough day since her mother’s death. Lucian would do anything to make Ashiana better, but all she wanted was to have her mom back, and there was no way he was going to fulfill that wish of hers.

He slowly took the shoes she had been wearing off her feets and covered her with a blanket.

After this, he paced around the room and finally settled next to the window.

He huffed with his arms folded as the realization of his sister’s death hit him like a rock again. He shut his eyes, wishing she was here right beside him to relieve all the stress and tension that had risen in the pack.

He looked around, every air in that room was filled with Louve’s memory.

Every object in that room had Bebe touched by Louve, he could still feel her presence there.

Lucian’s eyes caught the framed picture of Louve which was hung on the wall, he snuggled as he walked to it.

"Louve, I don't know how to say this but I'm sorry,” a great tremor overtook him. He removed the picture from the wall and stared at it as gut-wrenching sobs tore through his chest.

“I… I.. I couldn't even save your life and let someone take you away from us,” his shoulders shook, “I am also responsible for your death, I am responsible.”

His body wracked with an onslaught of sobs and tears as he fell to the floor in a disheveled heap. His grief poured out in a flood of uncontrollable tears.

He felt he had betrayed her, despite being the only thing he cherished in the whole world, and being the reason he had everything in life, he had let his guard down and wasn't available when she needed him the most.

He wasn’t there to protect her when she needed his protection. She was killed by a mere Omega slave, and that made him more angry.

He was disappointed in himself for not arriving on time before the incident. At the moment, crying wasn't the solution to the problem.

She was gone, and no amount of tears was capable of waking her up.

The only thing he could do was to get justice for her, and that by making the one who killed her pay for it.

“I will make her plead for death,” Lucian’s face tightened as he clenched his fist, “She will pay for this.”
