You'll Be Stuck With Me For The Rest Of Your Life

Hayden tried to shove her away gently, but Andrea, who was still wrapped around the events of her last life, held onto him tightly, refusing to let go.

Hayden gulped down several times and kept trying to shove her aside. Only when he whispered the words, "I'm really going to die, Andrea!" Did she let go?

She noticed the gloomy figure behind Hayden and moved towards him almost immediately. She held onto his hand and rubbed her head on it like a cat.

Hayden, on the other hand, rubbed his head in fear.

"I came to clean up." He said to Ryker, but still evaded looking at him.

Andrea's stomach decided to make a sound at that moment, drawing the two men's eyes toward her stomach.

Ryker creased his brows into a frown and spoke worriedly, "Let's go eat."

She nodded sheepishly and walked behind him, but didn't forget to throw one last glance at Hayden.

After she was gone, Hayden wondered why she was suddenly nice to him. Ever since they learned of each other's existence, they had done nothing other than loathe each other.

He feared she had something up her sleeves and a sudden kind of fear enveloped him. What if she was planning to use him as another escape plan?

Ryker and Andrea got to the dining room, and she gasped at the sight of the various exquisite dishes on the table.

But her surprised expression soon dissipated when she thought about him having visitors. The dishes were way too much for just the both of them.

"Are you expecting visitors?" She asked, but the man shook his head and pulled out a chair for her to sit on.

She instinctively sat on the chair, much to the man's surprise. Although it had been a habit of his whenever she came to the dining—something she rarely did in the past—he'd make sure to pull out a chair for her in the dining room. But regardless, she'd either sit in another chair or would leave without having something to eat.

Andrea was too fixated on the feast in front of her that she failed to notice the surprise on his face.

"Isn't this food too much for–hey, why are you looking at me?" She changed her train of question when she glanced toward him and noticed he had his eyes on her.

"It's strange, but I feel grateful that you actually attempted to jump down from your window. You've become much nicer ever since you fainted and woke up." He commented with a smile.

[That's because I was miraculously reborn! And I'm really glad I get to spend another lifetime with you.] She said inwardly and lowered her head to the bloody steak in front of her.

"Why is the steak so bloody?" She groaned, causing Ryker to look up at her, surprise flashing past his eyes.

"You said you like it half-cocked and a little bloody." He replied with a frown, and she smiled in embarrassment.

Once again, she recalled one of the numerous times she tried so hard to frustrate Ryker and his workers. One of the many things she hated so much was bloody steaks, but she had whined to him that she loved it.

This, of course, was one of Valerie's pieces of advice to her. Valerie claimed men like Ryker hated bloody steaks the most and might terminate her contract with her if she kept requesting for bloody steaks to be made for her.

The duo ate in silence for ten minutes before she decided to break the silence. Dropping her cutleries, she picked up the serviette beside her plate and dusted the sides of her mouth with it.

"I want to go back to school." She suddenly requested, and the man stopped eating but didn't look up at her.

His pause only lasted for five seconds before he continued eating, but a gloomy aura filled the dining room, startling Andrea, who thought she had made a harmless request.

Ryker said nothing for several minutes before he also finished eating and picked up the serviette beside his plate.

"Is this because you yearn to see him?"

"Who?"

"Your crush."

In her haste to get back to Valerie, she had forgotten about Sean Milton, a boy she crushed on heavily for half of her life.

She had chased after him with everything she had. The law school which she studied now saw her as a laughingstock because of the way he treated her. But despite that, she had chosen to stick with him, stupidly believing that one day, he'd love her as much as she loved him.

However, Sean had been deeply in love with Valerie and had only begun dating her when Valerie told him to. He was one of the chess pieces Valerie used to destroy her.

Recalling her previous embarrassing and stupid actions, Andrea lowered her head to the table and massaged her temple, hoping to massage out the memories as well.

When he didn't get any reply from her, he assumed he was saying the truth and his eyes darkened.

She only raised her head when she heard the sound of chairs moving backs and looked up to see Ryker storming out of the dining room.

His change of mood was so abrupt that it rendered her speechless until he left.

She walked out of the dining room as well and found him in his room, smoking. Although upset, he stomped out the cigarette in the ashtray next to him.

Andrea had been a heavy smoker for several years and only decided to stop smoking last year because her daughter wished for it on last year's birthday.

So when he saw him stomp out the cigarette, she couldn't help but have butterflies in her stomach. With the man's evenly squared shoulders facing her, she wondered if she was blind in her past life to fall for a scum like Sean.

"If I don't finish my schooling, that makes me unqualified to be your consigliera." She hummed silently, and the man froze.

"You mean, you don't intend to go back to school because of him, but because you're ready to be my consigliera?" He asked without turning around.

"Yes." She replied, but her face fell the very next second, "Unless you no longer want me as your consigliera."

Ryker, who still had his back to her, felt the corner of his lips curl into an evil smile as he thought, "You're going to be more than my consigliera, Andrea. So get that silly thought out of your head because you'll be stuck with me for the rest of your life.."
