Chapter 88.

I was seated in the dining room and despite the noise that was going on around me I was so lonely and felt like a ghost. The room was filled with the aroma of freshly prepared food but I knew that eating we just felt like I was pouring ashes into my own mouth. I could not eat because my heart was shattered.

I looked up again at the table to see the pastries, grapes and all other sorts of food that was scattered around it because none of it appeared to me at all. I could not eat because my heart was filled with guilt and the Guilt no matter how much I tried to state a side continued to gnaw at me from the inside.

It felt as though I was being ripped apart from inside because how could I sit here and try to eat while my mate and my unborn child were in the captivity of an enemy who I knew nothing about.
