A night run

Her eyes widened in disbelief, and to further aggravate her, I nonchalantly grabbed at the mug of coffee on the table.

"Cheers, Harley," I smirked and took a sip.

Her gaze was on me, as I placed the mug back on the table. Curiously watching me.

"Common, you don't have to do that. I'm not a weird specimen of study, neither am I a guinea pig." I shrugged in a bid to show her that I wasn't a bit bothered by the unnerving and stifling air around us.

"Shouldn't you be preparing for the pack run? Kathy told me you fell down the stairs.." She finally broke the silence.

"Are you concerned about me? Worried that I would lose the position of Luna?" I asked with a smirk.

Her expression changed, her eyes flashing dangerously. "You wish. The position of Luna was never yours anyway, so why would I be bothered?" She retorted, and turned towards the wallpaper on the wall.

Following her gaze, I chuckled, "I hope you don't eat your words, Mother." I got up, and threw her a bright smile,
