Chapter 2

Shelley's POV...

"I am Shelley, i am going to end my intolerable life today, "

"thush...."

I jumped into the river, closing my eyes to this cruel world, I can feel the suffocation caused by the water getting in my body,

it was painful, so painful... I tried to open my eyes to see the last scene of my life, it was like a bright light sucking me in,

I was dragged in that bright light.

I was so happy, so this was heaven. I am in heaven now, then it is worth dying. Enduring all that pain.

I was looking around and saw an old woman approaching me fiercely,

"Queen Luli, how dare you do that? have you forgotten about the reputation of our family, you ashamed me"

I was in a daze, staring at her in a confusion.

I looked at her and thought that what so ever, she is a real actor, even better than me, it felt so real,

I praised her but she seem to be angry,

"What are you talking about? have you lost your mind Luli?"

She held my hand and moved it vigorously as if she was waking me up,

"Luli, I am your aunt, and your mother-in-law, empress dowager"

Are they playing a prank on me? is it real or acting?

I was surprised to see the things happening around me,

Meanwhile, the girl I first met came running,

the lady standing in front of me turned to her and shouted at her,

"what the hell is going on, Aali? you said she is fine but she....?"

Aali came running to her and kneeled, crying and pleading,

"Your highness, it's all my fault, I am to be blamed, I didn't take good care of my lady, I must be punished, I deserved to be punished,"

I stood there silently, trying to understand the drama being played in front of me,

Does that make any sense? How could I end up here? Did I enter a novel? how could this happen?

I glared into his deep brown eyes, which widened with surprise,

All the other maids kneeled and the old lady bent in respect,

I understood, so he was the king, Xicheng, that rascal who tortured his wife to death, I gripped my dress with my fingers in anger, but what could I do, I will make it even hard to live here if I do anything.

I was gritting my teeth in anger when the old lady elbowed me,

"Queen, greet the king, what are you doing?"

"greet... how?" I asked in confusion,

but he raised his hand, and she stepped back,

he grunted and said,

" leave us" and they all left us alone, I was staring at them confusingly,

he roamed around me glaring at me, I twinkled my eyes,

he was quite surprised when he hear that coming from me, I read in the novel, she barely talked to him on the wedding day,

He never visited her after that and she lived an isolated life for a year before she tried to die, and committed suicide.

I wish I could make him pay for her life,

"uhhh...." I heaved a sigh in a daze,

he stopped and came closer, I stepped back, and he wrapped his hand all over my waist,

" so you want this..!" he narrowed his eyes and gritted his teeth in dismay,

" What...?"

I exclaimed, struggling to free myself from his grip, but he pulled me near, my body was touching his tough muscles, I clenched my fist and he glared into my eyes,

"Don't you want to be touched by me?" he asked sarcastically,

"What...? leave me...!!" I shrieked struggling again to free myself,

"You do have a sexy body, you want to sleep with me, ok let's sleep together" he dwelled his head to my neck but I screamed,

" leave me... you monster" I yelled in anger, his touch was disgusting to me,

But he was shocked, he released his arms and set me free, I stepped back keeping a distance from him,

"If you don't want to sleep with me, then why did you try to take your life?"

he questioned,

I was stunned, I bit my lips to think of an answer, what to say? According to the novel, she killed herself because of his rude behavior, but I can't tell him that,

"It has nothing to do with you, I have my problems, that's my privacy, you better stay away from me," I reasoned,

He raged and came near again, I stepped back to avoid him, until I bumped into the bed I extended my hands to stop him from getting nigher, which touched his chest and he stopped and warned me,

" never, ever dare to talk to me like that,"

" ok....! I won't, you please stay away from me, don't ever come to my place, let's just live how we used to, then we won't meet each other,"

I explained he was still glaring at me, trying to find some answers to his questions, I think I confused him with my personality, I didn't get any character description, so I don't know how she was...!!
