The Video (Vera’s POV)

My heart pounded as the screen flickered above the Starfang Pack’s initiation hall, my wolf clawing at my chest, ready to strike.

I didn't want to think too much about the person hiding but I couldn't. So I took a deep sniff of the air and surprisingly I couldn't identify who the person was.

The moonstone necklace burned against my skin, its ancient pulse urging me forward as I stood on the dais, the pack’s eyes locked on me.

I temporarily forgot about the stalker as I focused on the moment.

This is my moment—the night I reclaim my place as heir and bury Lana’s lies. Her AI-faked photos, meant to brand me a disgrace, are seconds from being replaced by the video of her alley torment, a trap she set for me now turned against her.

But as the crowd hushes, a shadow flits beyond the hall’s windows, dark and swift. My wolf snarls, sensing danger.
