A provocative smile crept out of my lips as I walked past Clara. I could feel her burning gaze on my skin.

If a look could kill, I was sure I would have been buried.

I went to the VVIP table, took a seat, and continued to listen to the announcement of the Master Of The Ceremony.

The women in the elite group surrounded me almost immediately.

"Hey! Mrs. Alyssa! It is so nice to see you tonight," One of them said, smiling.

Of course, I could discern that it was a fake smile.

"But I thought you said you hate going to functions," another let out. Her voice was laced with jealousy and spite.

In a slow manner, I placed my hands on the table and flashed an uncouth smirk at her.

"I made the decision and it's nobody's business if I change it now. Also, I couldn't just disappoint Auntie Kate because of some things I said,"
